Great Formula but Horrible Packaging

I absolutely love the formula. It's thick and cushiony without being sticky. It lasted through two iced coffees and a breakfast burrito. My lips actually felt soft and hydrated once it wore off. I really think it rivals the Olehenriksen ones and it's a way more reasonable price point. But this packaging is horrendous. Like did they design these for Lego hands? Idk why they felt the need to reinvent the wheel and not put this in a regular tube. It's awkward, The applicator is faced to the slim side so when you apply it, you have to hold it in an awkward position. The round shape also makes getting the cap off cumbersome because you're putting pressure on a bigger surface area. I've lost product trying to get it open. I get that everybody and their momma has a lip ... MoreI absolutely love the formula. It's thick and cushiony without being sticky. It lasted through two iced coffees and a breakfast burrito. I’ve used it paired with a lip liner. It’s shiny like a gloss. Feels like an oil hydrating like a lip treatment. it has absolutely zero cent, which I absolutely love. I actually see a difference because I have chronically dry lips that are always flaking, and my lips are so much smoother no longer cracking. I’ve actually went through two of these already since they’ve came out and I have so many lip products, but this has been my every day go ... MoreOrdinary has done it again released an absolutely amazing versatile product. Possibly the worst lip balm in existence

First off, they should stop calling this a balm because it's not balming whatsoever. I purchased it because I haven't previously tried anything from The Ordinary that didn't work, until this. Per usual, you're fooled by how cute it is, so you decide to give him, I mean it a chance. Who can resist aesthetic packaging? I placed my pick up order, and I barely contained myself from snatching the bag from the associate's hands at pick up. I fumbled through the bag immediately for this product. It's so lightweight I wasn't sure I was even putting anything on. Even when I tried to put too much on it's like it just disappeared. Still, I had high hopes. On my way to finish my errands I barely made it to the stop light leaving the parking lot before I felt like I needed to ... MoreFirst off, they should stop calling this a balm because it's not balming whatsoever. Still, I had high hopes. On my way to finish my errands I barely made it to the stop light leaving the parking lot before I felt like I needed to apply more. So I did. Another couple minutes later or was already almost gone, but it wasn't absorbing into my lips. It just, disappeared. It's not even like a treatment that absorbs and leaves soft lips behind, it was already drying my lips out. My baddie of a mother didn't raise a quitter, so I continued using it for a week and the edges of my lips are DRY and they are PEELING. I normally have soft supple lips made for kissing. I honestly didn't even know a dying lip balm existed until this. Huge miss for The Ordinary, unless you're trying to reach a niche market and corner a picker who loves peeling their lips. 0/10, unless you like peeling lips

Solid affordable lip balm, not great packaging.

This is easily one of my favorite lip balms on the market. It's not sticky or super thick like most of the other viral ones, it's not $22+ (which is crazy for a lip product), it doesn't have lactic acid (which can cause irritation with overuse and it's in like, all the lip care products), no shea butter, and it actually feels like it moisturized my lips after it wears off. I've been using it consistently for about 3 weeks and my lips are softer and look hydrated even when I'm not wearing it. No weird taste either. I have to reapply maybe 3 times a day, like after meals. Otherwise it has great lasting power. I usually do just lip liner and this on top. But it's not glossy. My main gripe is the packaging. I know it's meant to be cute and stand out from a regular tube, but y'all didn't need to reinvent lip balm tubes. This is awkward to open and feels odd to hold and use. The inconsistency with the product from other reviews is something to note, but for the price, it's worth giving it a try. I would love to see tinted or SPF versions.

Stick with me here because I'm about to go in depth- the container that this comes in is adorable. It feels great in the hand, nice size, and has a cutesie aesthetic. Multi-balm functionality is great, I love a product that has several uses. It very hydrating and provides that protective layer for extra dry skin.Where this misses for me is the texture on the lips. It's not too thick or goopy, it's light enough that it would feel comfortable. However, it doesn't have that smooth feel that I need for a lip product. I wouldn't say it's outright gritty, but it feels texturally uneven.I'd still definitely use this for its other applications, because it works great on my nails, heels, and other dry patches & doesn't bother me sensorially in those locations & it likely ... MoreStick with me here because I'm about to go in depth- the container that this comes in is adorable. Lately, I've been having irritated/chapped lips. I was looking for something to help soothe my lips besides your typical petroleum jelly when I heard The Ordinary came out with this. I was a little skeptical when I was reading reviews but I figured it was worth a shot since I typically like their products. The texture isn't like your usual lip balms. It comes out thick enough, but then melts onto your lips with application (similar to how a cleansing balm melts as you use it). It is unscented/unflavored, but I have sensitive skin to begin with, so that works well for me. Considering this is labeled as a lip balm, I feel the size is reasonable and will last a decent amount of time. I've had this for a few weeks now and use it every now and then before bed, and I feel like I haven't made much of a dent in it. Honestly I'm glad I gave this a shot, and I'll probably continue to repurchase it.

Gifted by theordinary - The ordinary Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm by Ordinary was perfect for hydrating my dry lips. I was surprised to learn that I could also use it on other dry areas like my cuticles and elbows. I typically have peeling or dry cuticle areas due to picking because of anxiety. The balm helped to restore these areas and make them stronger and more healthy. My lips also felt really hydrated day and night. I liked to incorporate this product into my skincare routine two times a day. This ensures that my lips are never cracked or dried out. It was also cool to learn from experience that when the product is warmed up it turns into more of an oil and liquid consistency which made me think of using it as a hydrating lip oil on top of lipstick. this lip balm is unique to others but i actually enjoy this product. upon seeing the reviews i was honestly worried that i would not like it but it's the complete opposite. the texture is very light and almost has a lip butter/oil hybrid feel. the squalene definitely alters the texture easily and it can "melt" to some extent but once cooled it'll take form again and be fine. i only had the "oily" issue upon receiving the product which is expected in the heat. i've had another lip balm with squalene and it would warm up easy in hotter temps but still amazing. as far as on my cuticles and elbows the product is great as well. i enjoy the multi-use of this product but i would primarily use it for my lips but it's nice to be able to put it on my cuticles on the go. i've ... Morethis lip balm is unique to others but i actually enjoy this product. upon seeing the reviews i was honestly worried that i would not like it but it's the complete opposite. the texture is very light and almost has a lip butter/oil hybrid feel. the squalene definitely alters the texture easily and it can "melt" to some extent but once cooled it'll take form again and be fine. i only had the "oily" issue upon receiving the product which is expected in the heat. i've had another lip balm with squalene and it would warm up easy in hotter temps but still amazing. as far as on my cuticles and elbows the product is great as well. i enjoy the multi-use of this product but i would primarily use it for my lips but it's nice to be able to put it on my cuticles on the go. i've used it on my most dry and cracked morning lips lol and it works wonders. fills in lines and makes my lip moisturized the nights i don't put on a lip mask. this is a great product for sure! gifted by the ordinary
