This product surprisingly cleans my hair well without stripping it. My hair tends to get oily quickly, but that hasn’t been an issue with this cleanser. This cleanser leaves my hair clean, light, soft, and with more body and volume.I love that it is scent-free so it doesn’t clash with other products and that it also leaves my sensitive skin feeling clean and healthy.With waist-length hair, it has been a bit difficult to adjust to using less product. This cleanser really does hold up to the saying “a little goes a long way”, but with it not really lathering, it is hard to get used to! I am able to get by with about a teaspoon worth of product per washing.My only complaint, as with the conditioner, is that I wish it came in a larger bottle to cut down on ... I read loads of reviews on this and the conditioner; a mix of great and poo-poo. My conclusion was it seems to work well for curly/wavy, frizz prone hair and or irritated, sensitive scalp.I’ve tried so many shampoos over the years and thought I’d give this a blast.I just used it this morning in the shower along with the conditioner and no, it doesn’t lather up the way we’ve been lead to believe shampoos should but that is because it doesn’t have all the gunk and buffers/fillers in it which the average shampoos do.If you concentrate a 50p sized amount on the root area at the front of the scalp and another at the back section and massage it into the scalp and roots your on to a winner. I love The Ordinary. I use nothing else for my skin. It does miracles and keeps my dry skin at bay. I was so excited to try this shampoo. At first it was great, my hair felt clean and It completely calmed my frizz. But then I noticed a significant increase in hair shed. I would wake up in the morning and have clumps of hair in my pillow. Shampoo days were a hairy mess. I would touch my hair and had clumps on my hand. I thought it would go away but it didn’t. I stopped using the shampoo to see if I was the problem, but the hair shed stopped. I threw away the bottle without finishing it. Won’t buy this again unless they change the formula. Such a disappointment.

I love this shampoo so much! It drastically changed how oily my hair gets (It used to get oily within the 1st day no matter what shampoo I used and now I can go 2 days without shampooing). I strongly recommend this for my East Asian girlies that have silky and straight hair. I just shake the bottle a couple times, mix it with my shampoo(I only do this because I prefer my hair to smell good and the ordinary shampoo does not have a fragrance) and I rub into my scalp area. Feels super clean but not harsh on the scalp. My hair is between fine and medium in terms of density so if you have similar hair it wouldn't hurt to try it out:)
This is the only shampoo I have ever had a good experience with. I have the finest, straightest blonde hair of anyone I've seen, and every other shampoo I used has stripped so much oil it's left my hair as a flat straight sheet that has zero volume and looks awful. This one leaves my hair clean and lustrous, but doesn't kill the natural volume. I had honestly given up before this and had been no-poo for 6 years. Now I use this whenever my hair is extra oily, about once a week.I really want this to be available in a larger size! I'm buying 4 bottles at a time because I'm using it as a body wash as well.
I bought the cleanser and conditioner together to try something different. I use many of The Ordinary's skin care products and was looking for new hair products. I have long hair that is highlighted and was using products to moisturize my dry ends. Previous products left my hair feeling heavy, almost waxy. The Ordinary Cleanser is different, it's very thin and doesn't contain the lathering agents of most shampoos. It was hard to tell if it was working b/c it doesn't have a scent or lather but rinsed off nicely. The conditioner is great, it's thick yet lightweight, easy to distribute evenly. I immediately noticed how different it felt to rinse out! My hair felt soft but clean, no heavy moisturizers. And my brushed out great when wet as well.
I’ve really tried with this shampoo. I’ve been using the shampoo & conditioner for a few weeks now and I’m just not getting anything back.Unless I double cleanse, my hair doesn’t come out clean. My hair gets oily on the 4th day after washing, with this shampoo it got oily on the 2nd day towards the evening. The only way to get it to stay clean for 4 days is by double cleansing, which means using double the amount of shampoo, and in turn this dries your scalp. I never suffered with a dry scalp before (maybe a bit of itchiness in the winter), but after using this shampoo I have dry flakes forming on my scalp and falling on my shoulders...The conditioner feels like it's doing its job at first as it's extremely emollient when used in the shower; this makes you feel like it's moisturising. However, after the hair is dried the results are very disappointing. My hair is very dull and has this weird stiff texture that you sometimes get from dry shampoo, it's also very tangly and snappy when brushing, something I never experienced with my previous conditioner.I also have to mention the quantities of products used for my shoulder length hair - about 1 tsp of conditioner was enough to coat my ends and about 1 desert spoon of shampoo was enough for 2 rounds of cleansing.Finally, I would like to say that the packaging feels very nice, I love the look of the bottles and the fact that everything is fragrance free, however this product is not for me. Obviously this is my own experience and everyone's hair and scalp are different and I truly hope people with different hair types get better results.
I LOVE this shampoo- and plan to make it my permanent one. I've been suffering from a suddenly itchy, flaky, and dry scalp the past couple of months. I've tried countless shampoos with no hope in sight. When I tried this- my dry scalp cured overnight and lasted 4 days. Second time I used it, my issues resolved for a week. I continue planning on using this and hopefully my scalp issues will be cured. This shampoo makes my hair and scalp feel so healthy, strong, clean and hydrated. This is the best shampoo i've ever purchased, and ready to throw out to 10+ other brands I've tried. Only thing I would recommend: Ordinary making a larger bottle of this shampoo- like double the size.

It has crazy frizz during the monsoons. I have tried so many shampoos till date that I've lost count. Sulphate-free shampoos don't work for me. Now coming to this shampoo, I was a bit apprehensive at first, kept it in my wishlist for so long! Finally I ordered it and I'm glad I did. This shampoo does not lather like crazy but it leaves my scalp squeaky clean!!! I used it in conjunction with the 2% Behentrimonium Chloride conditioner and my frizz had gone down by 80%.
