These kits are so good - really handy for the nights when you don't want to do much cooking, but are in the mood for decent Indian food. We tend to get them on offer as they're quite pricey, but still cheaper than a takeaway and taste far better! The Fiery Goan is the favourite in our house. I add fish or prawns and a little coconut milk or yoghurt to cool it down.

Found the Fiery Goan Kit to have an authentic goan 'curry' taste. Similar to what most people would recognise as a vindaloo. I find using pork belly par boiled, chopped finely 1cm cubes and fried in a little oil on own before following rest of instructions but adding a little extra water results in something close to a traditional Sorpotel (Google it !) in half the prep time. I chop the chilli too, as someone else mentioned. Please buy this so they keep making it! I've always got a stock of 10 or so with ref to bb date just in case
This is seriously restaurant quality and I should know given the curry belly I have, having visited so many around the country. I have been a student of curry for many years, it's my favourite food ever normally I would not touch ready made sauces or curry kits. However, the downside of making proper curry from scratch is the time it takes. No longer! This kit is fantastic. I gave it a go having read the previous reviews and have developed my own recipe to truly get fantastic restaurant quality curry. (1) slice onions and garlic and add to oil in the pan. Fry until the onions start to brown on the edges. (2) add the whole spices along with methi leaves and sliced bullet chillies (assuming you like it hot), fry for a few more minutes. Excellent curry. I made it with lamb steaks which I sautéed for a short while then cooked off the spices as recommended . I left it for a day to develop and it was great. Serve with fresh kachumber . This was the first time I tried it. I will be trying it again!
This is the best curry kit I have found in the UK. After moving to the UK just recently I really missed a simple authentic takeout (very very rare to find an authentic Indian or Goan takeout btw - Also - the Vindaloo in the UK is NOTHING AT ALL compared to a real one!) After finding the spice tailor, I now can enjoy the closest thing to an authentic takeout without having to slave in the kitchen for ages and have one every week now. Please keep buying this so they don't stop making them!
The is not a free sample review, but a regular purchase review. If you havent got the time or large stock of ingredients to make a proper curry, this is a great alternative. Quite a bit of oil in this but that is where the flavour is held. Trick I use is to skim off the oil that sits at the top of the pack and use this to fry of the spices, onions and meat. This saves adding additional oil. The finished curry has a lovely depth of flavour that you dont usually get from ready made sauces. Real tomato and clove taste and very fragrant. Lives up to its name of being fiery, thats for sure!
This kit was too spicy for me, as I like mild curries usually. It had lots of flavour and my husband liked it, but he likes spicier dishes. Very convenient packaging as with the other Spice Tailor kits, and great to have the different sachets pre-measured and prepped as it makes an easy meal. Probably won?t buy again but that?s personal taste; rhe ingredients are high quality.
only just discovered this range and have tried 4 different ones already. super delicious, super easy and great price point. I had this as an evening meal for two done with king prawns with some rice and it went down a treat we do like spicy but have had some of the milder range and equally as good for those who don't like hot. we're keeping these in the cupboard now for those takeaway nights as it comes quicker than any delivery can get to us.
