I own quite a few complete series on bluray and this is common with the shows from the 90’s that the picture quality will be so clear and bright then the next second it will be dim and low quality picture but haveing said that it’s still heads better than the dvd’s. the later seasons get better so definitely worth a watch!!!

Purchases the X Files Blu Ray box set off CEX just over a month ago and have to say I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It was extremely reasonably priced with quick deliveryI've never got into the Xfiles series when they were on terrestial TV but I'm enjoying them so far. Have to say the picture quality on blu ray is far superior, in fact there is a massive difference between DVD especially when watching on larger screen. Imho definitely worth the extra cash.Any dislikes? Well the blu ray plastic box cases aren't the greatest and they prove a little fiddly when removing the discs. Also its quite tricky to navigate the main home screen as the selected text (ie episode/ audio etc) is highlighted in grey.Other than that, its a double thumbs up from me

What's great about this particular release of the series is that all 11 seasons are in widescreen, including the earlier seasons. This is amazing to me, as the early seasons were shot when widescreen television wasn't much of a thought in anybody's mind. Somehow they managed to convert these early seasons to widescreen WITHOUT any stretching of the image! And b/c this is a BluRay release, it is in HD quality. The X-Files never looked so good! I am absolutely blown away by the quality. If you are a fan of the television series, this is the only release of it that you should get. Previous releases may not have all 11 seasons in widescreen.

As a long time X-Files fan, this Bluray set is an incredible update over the DVD sets.Starting with the original 35mm negatives, the production team scanned the negatives in 1080p resolution and then painstakingly cataloged and recreated each episode. Special effects were then selectively reapplied either as an upscaled version of the original, or recreated entirely.The end result is the 1993 season looking like you've never seen it before in glorious 1080p and true wide-screen.The audio has been remixed from the original Dolby Stereo/Surround into DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 and while an improvement on the source, it doesn't rise to the level set by the visual improvements, however the surround effects and music do provide good immersion and its mainly the ... Good quality with excellent DTS surround sound. Only 1080p BluRay as stated in the product description but upscales well on my 4k system. Looks and sounds way better than streaming for the serious X-Filea fan that wants the best available quality on the market. i had no problem with the region settings, plays just fine (USA - NTSC).The disc cases and disc stacking make it unwieldy. I just put them in a binder style CD case for better organization.
Hard to get this many Dvds into workable organized cases but they do the job to not arrive broken and barely useable like other collections I have purchased from others in the past. MUCH better value than another set I was offered for nearly $500. DVD set was well protected for the trip. THANKS!
The X-Files Complete Series 1-11. The set is 5 inches wide. With this type of packaging I keep handy a sheet of 8-pocket holders, that used to be used in a notebook, as the disks sit three to a spindle The sturdy plastic case works well and the spindles are designed not to break apart.. The clarity appears to be regular, not high definition. Disks play well on region free DVD players. As an aside, I was shocked at how many episodes I binged, lol. Great show.
Really enjoyed watching the series again, hadn’t seen it since the original show. I love watching on my portable blu ray player so I can move all around the house and get things done, that’s why I prefer the discs to streaming.
