However, some users might find them slightly bulky if they’re used to more minimalistic designs. The standout feature of the SmartGoggles is their combination of massage, heat, and vibration therapy. The device targets the eye area with gentle pulsations and warmth, designed to relieve tension from staring at screens or long workdays. I found the heat function particularly soothing, and the customizable settings allow users to adjust the intensity of the massage to suit their comfort levels. It’s a great tool for those looking to unwind or for anyone dealing with headaches or migraines. One of the best features is the SmartRelax mode, which uses biometric sensors to detect your stress levels and adapt the massage accordingly. This makes each session feel personalized and targeted, something that sets these goggles apart from standard massagers. It’s not just about relaxation; the integration of technology creates a wellness experience tailored to your needs. The battery life is decent, offering several sessions on a single charge. The goggles are also easy to clean and maintain, with a wipeable exterior. While they do offer Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with the Therabody app, I found that the app didn’t add a lot of value to the overall experience beyond tracking usage and controlling settings remotely. It’s a nice bonus, but not essential to get the full benefit of the goggles. In terms of drawbacks, the price point is a bit high for a niche product, and some users may find it overkill if they’re simply looking for a basic eye massager. Additionally, while the vibration and massage modes are relaxing, they may not be strong enough for those seeking deeper tension relief.Overall, the Therabody SmartGoggles 2nd Generation offer a thoughtful blend of technology and wellness, making them ideal for individuals seeking stress relief and eye relaxation. Though a bit pricey, the personalized features and overall quality make them worth considering for those serious about integrating relaxation into their routine. "

"I received these glasses from Therabody for my honest review.Therabody claims these glasses help with relaxation, migraine relief, reducing eye strain, and improve sleep. I’ve been testing over the last week on the various preset routines as well as the custom ones on the app, and here’s what I’ve found:1. ) The glasses really do help with relaxation. Now whether that is because of the vibration and massage or because you are essentially having a 15 minute nap / mindfulness session while they do their thing is up for debate, but at least for myself, I can attest to them being more effective than just a nap or mindfulness session alone. I noticed some relief from eye strain and I did sleep better (and fell asleep more quickly) when I used these glasses in the night. I can’t comment on the migraine relief claims at this point, since I thankfully haven’t been able to test for that.2. ) The product itself feels hefty in a luxurious way. The front and straps look nice, and the leather interior is nice, but because of the massagers, it tends to get wrinkled which doesn’t look that great, however that’s a very minor point and doesn’t affect the performance of the machine.3. ) The device comes with a carrying case and charging cable but no adapter. For this price point I really would expect the adapter brick to be included in the product, so I am removing one star for that. In the future I think it would also be nice for the brand to incorporate speakers into the design so that the audio from the app’s sound baths can play directly through the device rather than your personal headphones. For the price, this is something I was surprised to see wasn’t already incorporated.4. ) There are indents where the eyes are in the mask, so there is no direct pressure on them. I really appreciated this and found it made the mask very comfortable to wear.5. ) I initially thought there would be massage rollers gently going over the eyelids but that is not the case. I think some of the branding around it being an “eye massager” can be a bit confusing. It only massages the area around your eyebrows and temples, not the eyes. I don’t mind this, I just think the advertising could be clearer. The pressure of the massage rollers is good (I would prefer it to be just very slightly higher, but I prefer a stronger massage), and I find the highest heat setting very soothing.Overall, I do really like this product and I am glad I got the opportunity to try it out. If you’re not in any active pain or stress I don’t know if I’d recommend going and buying this since it is quite expensive, but if you struggle with insomnia or high stress then being able to relax and fall asleep quickly might make the price tag more justifiable. The Therabody 2nd gen Smart Goggles have been a tough product to review. This is a product category that I didn't even know existed before getting the offer to try these out. I'm a little frustrated that I never considered a product like this before as I have struggled with getting to sleep and occasional migraines for years. I've been using the Smart Goggles for about a week now and I'm amazed at how quickly I've grown accustomed to them and how much extra sleep they've gotten me over the last 8 days. It's shocking how effective they are at calming my mind down and letting me get some rest.#Unboxing and first impressions#The Smart Goggles come in a simple box, with an actual printed manual, a carrying case, and USB-C charging cable included. The carrying case has a handy pocket for tucking the charging cable if you need it. The goggles themselves are a little bulkier than I expected, however they are not so bulky that they are uncomfortable or heavy feeling on my face. My unit came charged up and ready to use, although I stuck it on the charger after my first evening just to make sure it was fully charged for subsequent days. I also like to note that the packaging is almost entirely cardboard (other than a plastic bag around the goggles themselves) and easy to recycle.Therabody offers some configuration via bluetooth in their smartphone app but it isn't necessary to get full use out of the Smart Goggles. These are a simple product with just 3 buttons that enable you to set any setting you need if you are not satisfied with the default modes.#Using the Smart Goggles#I have a rather large nose so products like this can sometimes not fit very well, and I was pleased that the goggles fully seal to my face without pressing on the bridge of my nose very hard. I get a complete light seal with the goggles without making the strap super tight. I wear a 7 3/8 hat and the goggles still get around my eyes so they can massage on the sides of my face, although not quite all the way to my temples. I found the Sleep Prep setting works perfectly for me, with an added touch of heat through the heat control to give me a nice massage to get ready for bed. The Headache and Eye Strain and SmartRelax modes each have very different feels to the massage pressure and vibration, with all 3 modes lasting for 15 minutes. I've been fortunate enough to avoid a migraine during the week I've had the product so I can't comment on the Headache and Eye strain mode, but the SmartRelax is a very cool setting that uses the heartrate sensor to gradually induce a calm sensation radiating from your face. The first time I used the Goggles, in SmartRelax at 11am on a Saturday, I fell asleep with them on and napped for an hour. Each night, I've been putting the Smart Goggles on a bit earlier than I normally go to bed and they have helped me disconnect and relax and go right to sleep after using them. The combination of complete darkness, soothing pressure and vibration, and not being tempted by a screen leads to a very effective product at getting to sleep.#Conclusion#So who are the SmartGoggles for? Anyone! Especially people who have trouble getting to sleep either due to medication, anxiety, or mismatched sleep schedules with their partner. I also imagine they would be great for air travel although I haven't used them for that yet myself. I anticipate the Smart Goggles being my most talked about TIN review product for the rest of the year because they have been truly amazing at helping me sleep.

The Therabody 2nd Generation SmartGoggles are an incredible relaxation device that have made a huge difference in my life. I used to have a hard time falling asleep at night and even when I finally would fall asleep, the quality of my sleep was not very good. A lot of this was probably due to the many distractions that are readily available which would take up my time right before bed such as my phone or the TV. These SmartGoggles have really helped me be more disciplined when it comes to my nighttime routine in preparing for bed, which on its own, is already a huge accomplishment, but what makes them even better are all the other features they have which help get me fully relaxed and ready to sleep.Setting up the SmartGoggles for the first time was extremely ... I used to have a hard time falling asleep at night and even when I finally would fall asleep, the quality of my sleep was not very good. These SmartGoggles have really helped me be more disciplined when it comes to my nighttime routine in preparing for bed, which on its own, is already a huge accomplishment, but what makes them even better are all the other features they have which help get me fully relaxed and ready to sleep.Setting up the SmartGoggles for the first time was extremely easy. All you have to do is download the Therabody app, select the plus symbol in the top left corner to add a device, select “SmartGoggles” as device type, and then select the 2nd Generation SmartGoggles on the next screen. After that, the app assists with the remaining steps by showing you how to power on the SmartGoggles to pair them with the app. My SmartGoggles paired immediately without and problems. The app then takes you through a series of a few short videos to help you learn how to use the SmartGoggles as well as how to make use of the many features available through the app as well. This was very helpful and made me feel more confident about how to properly use the SmartGoggles to their full potential.Once I got everything setup, I was excited to try out the 3 different preset 15-minute treatments. As described in one of the “Learn how to use your device” videos, the “SmartRelax” treatment is designed to melt away stress, the “Headaches + Eye Strain” treatment is designed to relieve tension headaches and eye strain, and the “Sleep Prep” treatment is designed to help prepare your body for restful sleep.Upon trying out the various treatments, I was surprised by how powerful these SmartGoggles are. They use a combination of vibration, heat, and massage techniques as part of the treatments and each function works extremely well. When combined with the blackout design and unlimited access to the expansive library of free science-backed “TheraMind” audio in the app, the end result is thorough relaxation and stress relief that I never imagined I would be able to experience on a regular basis the way I am now.Overall, the Therabody 2nd Generation SmartGoggles are an incredible relaxation device that I can’t live without at this point and I highly recommend them!
I’ve been enjoying using the Therabody SmartGoggles. They’re comfortable, lightweight, and massage/heat function works great in all 3 modes. The mask folds up nicely and store in a soft case that also holds the USB charging cable. The leather material that makes contact with my face feels great and the strap fabric material is soft and easy to adjust. These all use different variations of the massage/heat functions for their intended purposes. The power button serves as a toggle to switch between the different modes. Once the mask is on your face it can be difficult to know exactly which mode you are in, so you either need to set it before you put them on or remember the order in which the different modes toggle as there is no audible indicator to differentiate them. The vibration and heat can be adjusted via buttons on the left side of the mask and they DO have audible indication of what levels they are at, which is nice. I believe these modes can also be customized in the app, but at the time I was using this version of the SmartGoggles they were not yet compatible with the app. Each mode runs for 15 minutes and then the mask automatically shuts off. The mask charges via the includes USB-C cable, though no power adapter is included, so that will need to be provided separately. I don’t have an indication on what the battery life is, but in the few days that I’ve had it the indicator has not gone below the ‘high battery’ mark. The massage, vibration, and heat functions all work great. The motors are quiet and gentle on my face. The vibration and heat functions where they are adjustable have a good adjustment range and never get to intense or hot for my face. I primarily used this for the relax and sleep functions, but my wife also gets headaches and said that function was helpful for her as well. The sleep function was especially nice for getting to sleep faster, though while the massage and heat functions are great, I also think that naturally isolating yourself in darkness for 15 minutes prior to going to sleep is a big part of it. To that effect, the mask does a great job of blacking out your vision. Some light does leak in from the underside near the bridge of my nose, but it’s not really noticeable unless I look down at it. I have not slept in these as the instructions for all of the different modes end with you taking them off. The instructions do not explicitly say that you should NOT sleep in these, though the bulk of them could make them more uncomfortable than a normal sleep mask.Overall I’m really happy with the SmartGoggles. It’s going to be really helpful for my general relaxation and just getting to sleep. The only experience I cannot comment on is the app experience, but I think the fact that these work and stand on their own without it works in their favor as well.
My wife and I both suffer from headaches and eye strain from looking at computer screens most of the day. I saw the Therabody Smart Goggles and thought I’d give them a try since we have other Therabody products like the mask that we already love. As with those other products, the Smart Goggles have a good heft to them, so you know they are well made. The inner lining has a quite smooth feel against your face, and they are very comfortable once you have them on. Tighten the strap to your preference and get ready for some relaxation and relief. Neither of us had a problem with the fit and they truly do block 100% of the light for us. I have a friend that tried them who has a wider face and he said some light seeped in so your mileage may vary depending on your facial ... The inner lining has a quite smooth feel against your face, and they are very comfortable once you have them on. Tighten the strap to your preference and get ready for some relaxation and relief. Neither of us had a problem with the fit and they truly do block 100% of the light for us. I have a friend that tried them who has a wider face and he said some light seeped in so your mileage may vary depending on your facial structure. I like that they fold in half and have a travel pouch so we can take them on trips with us and use them wherever we are. We have each used them multiple times and have yet to have to recharge the battery which is great if you are planning on a long trip and not having to pack yet another charger. You can use the buttons on the top to change the modes, heat levels, and vibrations, or you can use the well-designed app. I personally prefer the buttons so I don’t have to take the goggles off to make adjustments using my phone. The app does sync with the built-in heartrate sensor so you can see how your body reacts during the relax mode (which actually does work quit well). There is an auto-shutoff feature that turns the unit off after 15 minutes no matter what mode you are in. And there are lots of different customizations you can do (heat level, vibration intensity, etc.) depending on how you are feeling. All in all, we have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with the Smart Goggles and would definitely recommend them.
Almost every time I put these on to experience and document the relaxation of these new and improved second generation Smart Goggles from Therabody, I honestly fall asleep! Right out of the box and after a quick charge, they provide massaging compression on the face, variable vibration intensity, and heat to combine and offer a total relaxation experience. I tend to wake up a lot during the night and for those times I need help falling back to sleep, I put on the Smart Goggles, and I am soon falling back to sleep. I should mention that I have sleep apnea and wear a nasal mask when I sleep. I should mention that I have sleep apnea and wear a nasal mask when I sleep. I initially was worried that the mask might interfere with the goggles, but relieved to find out that they do work together with no issues. The Smart Goggles have three built-in programs for relaxation, rejuvenation, and sleep, all selected by pressing the power switch. One of the programs has a vibration matching your heartbeat using a sensor built into the mask. Otherwise, I didn’t sense any major differences in the three settings and would have a hard time deciding which I prefer, as they all offer a relaxing massage. The massage comes from a repeating sequence of squeezing pressure on the temples, forehead, and cheekbones and the squeezing power of the goggles is impressive. My one minor complaint is that I do get some squeaking near the left headband connection as the goggles release pressure and also some rattling at higher intensity vibration. I’m hoping it’s due to the newness of the materials and that the situation will improve with use. I suppose it would also be nice if the beep that signals the end of each program could be silenced as it does tend to jolt you awake at the end. Maybe this is something that could be configurable via the smartphone app someday.Therabody recently updated their smartphone app so that now it works with your 2nd generation Smart Goggles via a Bluetooth connection. The app adds several relaxation programs, complete with audio that you can listen to with your built-in smartphone speaker, or a better way for a total immersion is to listen with headphones or earbuds. At the conclusion of a “therapy” session, the app shows your heart pulse before and after. I wouldn’t be surprised if it lowered blood pressure as well.I’m pretty sure I will find myself using these Goggles at least once and day and possibly more as it’s a great way to alleviate daily stress, fall to sleep faster, and sometimes nice just to enjoy an occasional facial message just because you can.
I’ll just start off by admitting that this exceeded my already high expectations when it comes to execution. Out of the box, you can tell it’s a high end device with sleek packaging, the goggles, charging cord, and carrying case. The device came semi-charged but I immediately plugged it in to get this charged to full. It’s hard to tell how long it takes to charge to full but I’d estimate 1-2 hours?I put the goggles on and while it’s a tad heavy and think, I was immediately impressed with how comfortable it is. There’s three main presets which are sleep prep, headache/eye strain, and relaxation, all of which have different massage and heat settings. There’s three main presets which are sleep prep, headache/eye strain, and relaxation, all of which have different massage and heat settings. I haven’t used the relax setting but used the eye strain one a few times to good success, and have used the sleep prep setting nightly. Genuinely, I can say I’ve gone to bed more relaxed, and fell asleep faster, in a deeper sleep than I historically have. My wife is an eye doctor who tried the device and thinks it’s great as well. The wife’s only complaint is that the indicator lights on the device are very bright in a dark room, especially when I’m using it in bed next to her and it’s close to her face. Unfortunately there’s no way to turn the lights down or off.Despite using a preset function, you can still cycle through the heat and massage settings if you’d like, unfortunately there’s no indicator as to which setting you’re moving too and from, so if you’re trying to turn the heat up for example, you can’t really tell if it’s on low/medium/high and many times may just turn the heat off, it’s really hard to tell and frustrating.Additionally, I imagined with the blackout feature I’d wear this with a sleep prep function and sleep all night with it in, but with the device’s bulky nature and me sleeping on my side, that’s not happening. Theoreticallly if you sleep on your back you could wear this all night, but don’t plan on it.Lastly is the app companion which is actually one of the better app companions I’ve used. It’s super easy to setup, isn’t invasive, and offers a bunch of presets, various in length that you can set the goggles to synchronize with. For example, you may elect a rainforest theme with low heat and a vibrating massage that lasts for 25 minutes, in which time your goggles will automatically start/stop and your phone will play rainforest sounds throughout the time. While I wish they would play audio directly from the headset, it’s still a good feature to have. All said, in a perfect world, the device would be more comfortable to wear all night, would play audio, and not be so bright, but despite those flaws, it’s still comfortable, easy to use, and has noticeable benefits and for that, it’s getting a thumbs up from me.
What an amazing invention by Therabody, who add technology to some pretty neat smart instrumentation already used in clinical and hospital settings and turn them into Smart Body Therapy. The SmartGoggles have little airbladders and rollers, with heating elements blended into a comfortable headset that is also battery powered, and turn it into a quick and lite virtual trip to the spa. Please bear in mind, you absolutely need to use the Therabody app to pair the SmartGoggles to get the most out of these headsets. The Goggles will not pair to the iPhone without the app, at least on iPhone. It doesn't even see it and you can't pair to it like you could with Gen1. The instructions also tell you to pair manually but it simply doesn't work, like it is using some encrypted ... The instructions also tell you to pair manually but it simply doesn't work, like it is using some encrypted or secure pairing connection, which is fine by me.This is ideal because the experience of using the Goggles are enhanced and would not be complete without the app in my opinion. Normally there are 3 different preset settings on the Goggles that let you choose between 15 minute routines: SmartRelax, Headaches & Eye Strain, and Sleep Prep. You can also modify the level of vibration and heat on the other temple. The presets in the app however, have much more detailed and varied routines along with audio that matches the routine. You also see the level of vibration and heat and can change them before starting the routine.Lastly, the heart rate monitor tells you what your current, starting and ending beats per minute are to show you how much you relaxed during the routine. Super cool and soothing. I actually use it to wind down at night, but also if I want to relax and reset during my work day. The case and Goggles folding allow you to take it on the go either to the office or on work trips. Would be amazing on a long flight or train ride, I'm not sure I would wear it on public transportation like metro/subway but I guess that depends where you live.Long-term, I could see Therabody eventually iterating these goggles to include VR-type screens so you can actually visualize some soothing scenes. Maybe even cameras so you can see your surroundings while using them. Audio or earphones would also add to the sensory experience. Great experience and tech, I can't wait to see what Therabody invents next!!!

Like many folks, I have trouble sleeping, and I experience a fair bit of eye strain from staring at a screen all day (and night). I jumped at the chance to try out one of Therabody’s newest products designed to address these very issues. The Therabody Smart Goggles (2nd Generation) are an interesting proposition, combining heat, massage and vibration in the form of blackout goggles that strap to your face. On their own the SmartGoggles offer three default programs, but connect the goggles to the Therabody app and you’re given a multitude of programs that also incorporate sound and are designed to help you relax, meditate, focus and more. The SmartGoggles arrived well-packed in a premium box befitting their price. There was almost no plastic packaging. I appreciate Therabody including a neoprene travel case and USB-C charging cable that, thankfully, is USB-C on both ends for versatility. I will note that I was surprised by the strong chemical smell of the travel case and goggles when I opened the package. I’m not sure if my unit was just super fresh from the factory floor or what, but I definitely had to let the case and SmartGoggles air out before using them. The smell dissipated after a few days, thankfully. The goggles themselves have three physical control buttons. On one side is the main power button, which cycles through the three default programs; on the other side are two more buttons, one controlling the heat and one controlling the vibration function. Depending on the program you select these will be activated or deactivated by default, and you can use the buttons to turn them on/off and select the intensity of the heat and/or vibrations.Strictly speaking you can use just these three physical controls to enjoy the core SmartGoggles programs: SmartRelax, Headaches & Eye Strain and Sleep Prep. These programs are designed to do what their names imply, with the SmartRelax mode additionally using the built-in biometric sensor to tailor the vibration pattern to match your heart rate, which Therabody says is designed to help you unwind and relax.Using the SmartGoggles is as simple as putting them on your face, adjusting the strap for a comfortable fit and pressing and holding the power button to start the program. It took me some fiddling the first time I wore them to get a comfortable fit, which for me involved adjusting the strap to its maximum length. While fairly comfortable, I do wish Therabody had included a longer strap and/or longer connectors between the strap and the goggles themselves. With the strap adjusted to fit my head the adjustment buckle is right next to my left ear and it does rub the tip of my ear a bit. Although Therabody says the strap should rest just above your ears, my ears are tall enough that the strap has to go over them, or else the goggles sit at a weird angle on my face. With the strap covering the tops of my ears the goggles are nice and flat against my head, but the strap does tend to wander down the back of my head if I move around too much. As long as I’m laying down flat or at a shallow angle the goggles mostly stay put, and since you’re supposed to be relaxing in them, these positions make sense — I just find myself fidgeting with the goggles while I’m using them a bit more than I anticipated. Everyone’s head is different, though, so your mileage may vary.I have two other quibbles about the physical design of the SmartGoggles. First, it’s a bit hard to tell which of the three programs you’ve selected once you’re already wearing the goggles. The power button cycles through the programs and a light on the top of the device lets you know which one you’ve selected… but you can’t see the light when you’re wearing the goggles. Whichever of the three programs you last used remains selected the next time you turn the goggles on, which helps, but pressing the button to cycle through the three programs produces only a “beep” as the program changes. I think it would have made sense for Therabody to assign 1, 2 or 3 beeps to the programs, so at least you could tell where you are in the rotation, but as it stands the only way to be sure of what program you’ve selected is to take the goggles off and observe which light is lit. When you change the heat setting, the beeps change in tone, and when you change the vibration setting the vibration feedback is immediate, so these settings at least aren’t an issue. My other complaint about the physical design of the SmartGoggles is the finish of the padding around the eye sockets. It’s a soft, smooth leather-like plastic or vinyl, similar to what you’d find on the ear cups of a nice pair of headphones. It’s well-padded, it blocks the light and it has enough texture to keep the goggles from moving too much… but it is not at all breathable. Every time I use the SmartGoggles I find my face sweating after a few minutes, and a few times I’ve had to take them off before a program finished because my face is just too warm (even with the heat off). I get why the padding needs to have some grip, and I like that I can easily wipe the goggles down to clean them, but I have to wonder if there’s another material that might be as soft and light-blocking but still allow some air movement. Maybe a fabric that could detach and be washed or replaced? As it stands, be prepared for a bit of dampness around your eyes, especially if you sweat a lot or have oily skin.Design aside, what about the performance of the SmartGoggles? I’m pleased to say they vibrate, heat and massage as Therabody claims they will. My favorite function is definitely the massage, which alternates applying pressure to your temples and to the area between your eyebrows. I’m impressed with how much pressure the SmartGoggles can generate, particularly in the temples. The push and release really does seem to alleviate tension, again especially in the temple area, which is where I find I carry most of my eye strain. The pressure massage between my eyebrows is more subtle, but it’s there, and seems to help as well.I’m less convinced of the effectiveness of the vibrations, although it is neat that the SmartGoggles can vibrate in tune with your heartbeat. Each program uses the vibrations a bit differently, and I don’t dislike the vibrating, but I’m not exactly sure what benefit it carries. It does give you something to focus on and even breathe in time with, though. Finally, the heat is comforting, but as I noted above my face gets warm and sweaty just wearing the goggles, so I tend to keep the heat off.Connecting the SmartGoggles to the Therabody app allows you to choose from a library of different programs and this is where things get kind of neat. The goggles connect easily via bluetooth and I was immediately able to start trying out different programs. I like that you get a countdown after you select a program to give you time to adjust the SmartGoogles to the right position, and the accompanying sounds are a neat touch and even offer the benefits of meditation. You’ll definitely want to try these with earbuds in for the maximum effect. When the program finishes you can see your tracked heart rate, which is neat as well. All told, the SmartGoggles are unique, well-made and fairly easy to use. They offer simple setup and lots of available programs through the Therabody app, and enough customization to dial things in to your personal preferences. I wish they were less sweaty on my face and had more strap adjustments, but as they are I am able to wear them relatively comfortably. They have not completely transformed my sleep, nor do they make me as relaxed as a human massage might, but for a pair of goggles you can fold up and take anywhere I think they do pretty well. They’re certainly worth a try at the end of a long day in front of the computer or when you have trouble sleeping, and as long as you’re not expecting a miracle, I think you’ll find them a useful addition to your self care toolbox.
