4 days of use and it loses air :(

I used it for four days. I just came back home and inflated it again before storing it. It doesn't hold the air as well as when I bought it (I inflated it and kept it full for some time, as per the manufacturer's instructions). There is no discernible loss by the valve or at any other place. It seems to be losing it very slowly. It is noticeable after left inflated during the night (and not sleeping on it).It is a pity as the pad is great, a bit big but it worked great during the hike. Good self-inflation and you can make it former with just blowing air in a few times. You don't need Olympic swimmer lungs. Unsure if I would recommend it though...

I had a military issued cot but that was not going to meet my standards. A good friend ordered me a Thermarest Basecamp sleeping pad. It fit perfectly on the issued military cot. I never had one issue with this pad leaking down or tearing. I used it religiously for the next 10 years submitting it to the outdoor elements. I used it for the last time this year in Bosnia for a little vacation, courtesy of the Army. If you are wanting a indestructible pad that will last and is priced well, then this is it. I think I bought two of these in 2015 or 2016 to replace the queen size traditional mattress in my 5th wheel Rv. We have slept on it continuously since then in the 5th wheel for several years and since February 2022, every night in our house. I use these air mattresses together along with a memory foam topper. My husband and I sleep wonderfully and he has a bad back. Prefer this over a traditional air mattress.

Bocks cold ground air super well and comfortable
3 August 2023

I took this pad camping this week, and I was very pleased with it. The design isn't compact so not ideal for backpacking, but if you're bringing a car, definitely worth bringing it.The price point is slightly unreasonable, but I used Alti credit and some discount promotion. If I didn't have these, I wouldn't have purchased. Way too expensive unless you're going to get a full use out of it.I don't know how long these will hold up as I've only used for 1 trip so far.

Disapointed…
4 August 2023

Dear Cascade Designs,This sleeping pad is very hard to roll up and is very slippery with my Coleman sleeping bag. Would I buy another one? No! My previous Thermarest sleeping pad only lasted 40 years or so & I used it hundreds of times. I will be surprised if this one holds up as well.( I picked this one because it seemed to be the most similar to my previous pad. The old Thermarest was easy to roll up & was not slippery. I have no use for the self inflating feature, I’m old school I guess )Ed

Excellent Quality, Just a Little Awkward to Carry
7 February 2022

I love the quality of materials, the quality of the manufacturing, the design, and the functionality of this pad. I got the "large" size, and I am a big man (255 lbs, 6'2"), and this pad is comfortable enough for me without sacrificing too much weight in transit. I have no doubt that this will provide ample insulation and padding for any/all needs, and that it will last a long time with proper use and care. The one gripe I have is that it is too long in its bag. This is because it comes directly from the manufacturer only rolled up, not folded in half along the width first as a lot of other sleeping pads that I have had in the past do. I guess this just makes it a little more awkward as far as storing it in/on my pack if I want to go backpacking. I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to store it in a way that my rain cover will keep it dry if I get caught in foul weather along the trail. If I'm not worried about foul weather, I can easily connect this thing onto my pack, as the bag it came with has a durable shoulder strap on which to secure a carabiner.

Nice thickness, arrived brand new
17 December 2022

I really like the thickness of this pad and the additional insulation. Mine was brand new in original packaging and definitely not military surplus looking or smelling. It only rolls the long way so the rolled mat is 25" long. It can't be folded in half and rolled to fit in a sustainment pouch like the std size but that's not an issue for me. SG price is, at least $30 less than other stores.

Received defective pad.
9 August 2021

I received this pad today. I unpacked it, rolled it out, and added a bit of inflation to it to test it out. Then, following the instructions exactly, I proceeded to try to deflate it and put it in the nylon bag. I opened the valve exactly according to the instructions, progressively rolled it up as tightly as I could from the end opposite from the value, and put my weight on it to try to push the air out. Air did come out of the valve, but only in a small stream. I repeated the rolling and deflating several times over a period of 30 minutes or more. But this thing just doesn't want to deflate the way it should or as fast as it should.I called REI and spoke to a young lady who said that I should watch the deflation video, and that that video instructs to roll it up ... MoreI received this pad today. But in fact, the video doesn't say that. The first young lady patched me through to a second young lady, who said that the pad should deflate quickly. We agreed that the pad is apparently defective, and she was very helpful in arranging to send a replacement to me very quickly. Hopefully, the replacement will not be defective. If the second pad works the way it should, I'll change my rating to 3, 4 or 5 stars. But time is both life and money, and life and money should not have to be wasted dealing with defective products or other glitches because a manufacturer doesn't do adequate quality control or doesn't provide accurate descriptions or instructions for its products.

Too thin, you'll feel the ground
6 December 2022

In my experience its TOO thin, 2" is NOT enough. Sleeping on my side I was touching the ground before I felt even remotely comfortable. Felt like sleeping on a thin foam pad basically. On my back it was okay but I am not a back sleeper. I would also imagine the insulation doesn't work well unless your off the ground a little. Would not recommend to anyone heavier than 100 lbs.

absolute garbage
28 November 2022

I reached out to customer service to try and handle this, they didn't respond, and apparently aren't interested in helping me solve this issue. If I could give zero stars I would.Anyway, this thing failed day one. It inflates fine, and is very comfortable at first, but loses air over night and I wake up on the floor...which is very uncomfortable.I'm sure it's an easy fix, bad valve or something, but again..customer service didn't respond or really seem to care at all. So it's starting to look like I've wasted about 150 bucks. I'll never buy from them again, and I encourage you not to either. Thanks for nothing
