I asked Inet Support about suggestions for a new cooler since my current CPU was hitting 90ºC+ and my PC would restart with heavy load.They were great, gave me some options depending on my usecase and I ended up buying this CPU cooler, and it's perfect! Now in heavy load it doesn't even go beyond 67ºC, and I know that even after upgrading I can still use it effectively, so I have a good cooler for a few years at great price. 5/5

Extremely impressed. While running a software that is highly demanding, the CPU package (i5, 3.1GHz) temperature remained consistently below 70°C, whereas it was going quickly above 80°C with another cooling system, which made me close the software after a few minutes not to damage the CPU. Also, with the peerless assassin, the CPU package remains usually between 28°C and 40°C. And it is so silent and so simple (no pump and no technical failure to be expected over time) that I have decided not to move on with a liquid cooling system. Btw, thermal paste is included in the package.

The Peerless Assassin is a great unit for when you either need or prefer to use air cooling instead of liquid cooling. This was used in a 4RU rack mount case, not a typical desktop/gaming case, and it only had a 120mm fan mount, and 120mm water coolers aren’t exactly great. This was a VERY close fit in the 4RU case, but it does fit and is far superior than any standard/stock cooler. At around 10% constant load, it keeps the CPU around 10 degrees above the room average setup in a push pull configuration, and an additional 120mm fan around 5cm behind it to also help pull more warm air out.

The cooler itself is a price to performance champ. Competes way outside of its price bracket and isn’t really missing anything. Mounting is pretty straightforward but unremarkable, the heatsink is solid and the included fan splitter is nice. Only complaint would be the fans, they perform perfectly well but are just nothing spectacular. Still well worth the price though if you’re alright with a little bit of extra fan noise
