This racing wheel set feels sooo PROPER NICE with your play seat especially with ALL the forza horizon games. This is an absolutely MUST for all racing fans who enjoy car games or racing simulators to the full. I as a buyer simply believe that i have made the RIGHT CHOICE and at the right price. The wheel design itself is very well presented and very well shaped as well as silky smooth from the palm of your hands. This racing wheel is THE REAL DEAL for any racing game fan and i truly urge & highly recommend you to purchase or invest in one as possible because you simply WON'T be disappointed and as for ME personally is that i'm glad i did.

Took a bit to figure out how to set it up to an Xbox One, but once working, boy is this a strong wheel. The nature of the force feedback lets you feel the road conditions much better than cheaper wheels, it's also very strong in its force feedback so you sometimes just have to let the wheel do its thing, but with how well you can feel what's happening and the way it self steers when in an oversteer situation, you can really trust the wheel to do right by you, just don't try to fight it too much as I suspect the wheel could win that fight. My one complaint is that with the wheel attachment I use having sharp edges and a hard to reach B button for Xbox, making handbrake turns in Forza better off avoided without a handbrake attachment, at least for my TM Leather 28 GT ... MoreTook a bit to figure out how to set it up to an Xbox One, but once working, boy is this a strong wheel. All up, if you're wanting something more refined than a TMX, this is a good upgrade to make, so go for whichever TX configuration you'd prefer to use (I only needed the base and this was my cheapest option to do that. To get my setup would involve getting a TX Leather Edition, TH8A shifter and recently ordered a TSS Handbrake Sparco Mod +, its table clamp and the Simhub which is pretty hard to find)

Pros: You'll find yourself wrestling with the wheel to get round that corner. It has a powerful motor with lots of feedback and resistance. Make sure your hands are well clear when you switch it on for the first time as it will self calibrate, and you could break something.... like your arm or fingers...Cons: The wheel itself looks (and is) plastic. I would have liked to see a better quality of material. The grips are very rubbery. The pedals are ok, if you can secure them properly, though I would have liked to feel more resistance on pressing.

Awesome force feedback
8 July 2015

OK, so the first thing you think is that it is very expensive and that's why I gave it just 4 stars. I eventually got past that and bought one after reading many many reviews online. The force feedback in some games is the best I have ever experienced and its certainly powerful. The range of motion is really important - 900 degrees of turning makes the experience a lot more realistic when at slower speeds and drifting. Just like in a real car you will find yourself turning the wheel more than a full turn at times and when you release the wheel it will spin back to center very quickly. You can get the feeling of losing grip when you turn too sharp into the corner, and sense that balance between understeer and oversteer. You can get the feeling of losing grip when you turn too sharp into the corner, and sense that balance between understeer and oversteer. It is firmware upgradeable by downloading the latest drivers/software, installing to your PC and then connecting the wheel up. It is highly tunable on the PC and on Xbox One as well so you can set it up how best suits you.To really get the best experience with it you need a proper racing seat and frame to mount it on so the pedals can't move on you and the wheel can be height adjustable. I've been looking at some that are sold in NZ myself to finish off the package. I will eventually look at the upgradable add-ons that you can buy as well - full pedal box with clutch, alternative wheel, and manual box unit.

29 December 2020

Pros: The realism and functionality of the steering wheel is amazing. Especially with the F1 steering wheel attachment.Cons: The F1 steering wheel would be better if all the dials at least move because it makes the wheel even more realistic. However this is a minor improvement can’t really fault the functionality of both products.

Great wheel
24 November 2021

My 1st decent wheel for both X Box and PC, but wow! A minor detectable buzz from the power supply/transformer, but only noticeable when no other noises in the room. Control and feedback are smooth, and easily tuned o give the right feel for every user.

Johnathon's review of Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition
7 August 2020

Pros: Force feedback is excellent, this is my first ever force feedback wheel but I can tell it's very high quality in terms of how the game responds and gives you info. Pedals feel solid despite the plastic appearance, the metal on the pedals is nice and brake pedal is very good size in particular. Can eventually swap the wheel for a more premium offering with ease along with the pedals.Cons: The wheel is a bit small and some parts feel a bit 'tacky' with rather a lot of plastic on the face of the wheel and on a lot of the steering part making it feel cheap for the price point. The grips I believe are not actually rubber rather a very sticky plasticky material (only way I can describe it) that after a while does make your hands feel rather like they're covered in ... MorePros: Force feedback is excellent, this is my first ever force feedback wheel but I can tell it's very high quality in terms of how the game responds and gives you info. It does do a good job however, with lots of buttons and very nice paddle shifters on the back.

Nice wheel but seriuosly overpriced
21 March 2014

I read many reviews from many sites. There's a good number of broken wheels out there. I got mine from bestbuy.com on 3-19Updating the firmware: From most of the reviews people had problems updating the firmware. Mine came with version 42. I followed the instruction from the Thrustmaster website to the letter, and updated to version 45. I'm not sure if this matters, but I'm hoping version 45 solved most of the problems out there. You need a PC to do this. There doesn't seem to be a setup utility for the MACSetting up: I spoiled myself with a Playseat Challenge gaming chair. Paired with this wheel it feels like you're sitting in a car. This is a great setup for Forza 5. The clamp that locks the wheel down sucks. Paired with this wheel it feels like you're sitting in a car. This is a great setup for Forza 5. The clamp that locks the wheel down sucks. I went to the hardware store to pick up 2 metric M6 12mm bolts, and just mounted it to the seat. This is a fun setup, but it's expensive. In the Forza settings I turned the vibration to 75%, and the force feedback to 50%. The defaults seemed a little rough. I can't turn the game off now. I hated playing with the gamepadI though about replacing the wheel it came with. But that would mean another $150 at least. The Engine Start button is actually a d-pad. The rest of the button layout is familiar, like the Xbox gamepad. I think I'll give it a chance. I might upgrade later to the 3 pedal set, and the THR8 shifter. But again, it's dumping more and more money into this racing chair. And I'm already at the point that it costs more than the Xbox one.Once this is setup and working, it's an enjoyable wheel. The only reason I can't recommend this is it's overpriced. Especially if you want to upgrade it. Unfortunately I don't see many affordable wheel options for the Xbox One anytime soon.

TX or T300 don't think that there is much difference for PC user
9 September 2020

Setting up will be a challenge. F1 wants different steering angle, rally different. But PC users are used to tinker. Once you have found your sweet spot oh boy it's so much fun. I recommend turning force feedback in the settings of the wheel to 75% it helps with overheating because you will wrestle forces less. At the end of the day I've got this wheel to feel the road not to rip my arms off :) P.S. Stand is a must. I assumed that I can just clamp the wheel to the table and drop the pedals on the floor. Wrong! It is so much better with a stand

I've had this wheel now for around a month and couldn't be happier. Integrated into the Xbox1 seamlessly. Highly recommend setting it up on a desk or a sim racing pod. Read the instructions supplied to adjust all the parameters this wheel offers, 100% feedback is too strong for younger kids. The unit is of a sturdy build and is worth the money. Highly recommended if you want to take your car racing games to the next level. P.S. The Throttle and Brake pedals are RT & LT buttons.
