I use this pre-drying before I style on damp hair. The smell of the product is amazing, but not too overpowering. Even though it’s a cream, it doesn’t feel heavy in my hair or leave a thick residue. For additional context, I have fairly fine hair, so it doesn’t take a lot for a product to feel too heavy. I’ve fought with so many styling products, and this is one of the few that when it finishes, I’ll be repurchasing. This makes my style last longer than if I didn’t use it.

I went to Ulta beauty and asked what product did they recommend for volumizing hair. The nice employee suggested me to use this. I bought it and used it for months but only a little and I would only apply it after showering, on damp hair, and only from mid to ends. I do not like the feeling of it where it is oily and even after washing my hands, I still felt it. I also did not notice a change in style or volume when using it. I bought the travel size at Ulta to test out — seems like one of few products where the travel size isn’t outrageously priced versus the normal size. My first impression is that is smells WONDERFUL, it really compliments the leave-in conditioner I use (Curls Blueberry Bliss). I REALLY love this product as a blow out cream/blowdry lotion. It works phenomenally on short and medium hair with layers and I haven't found anything that holds my hair straight as long as this has so I use it with my long hair also. It just doesn't volumize as much as it did as when my hair was short of course. It smooths wonderfully, helps my hair not to tangle while blowing dry and styling. I buy this product time and time again because it's tried and true.

My mom has used this for YEARS in her hair and she got me hooked on it when I was just a kid as a product to be applied before drying my hair (we're all blessed with thick hair, but as women who shower in the mornings in a colder climate, a blow dry is a MUST). If not used sparingly or applied close to your roots, this stuff can be sticky and make your hair crunchy and clumpy, but when you do it the right way it's awesome. Frizz Saver

I started my TiGi obsession years and years ago with control freak and obsession. I use Small Talk daily. My hair is extremely damaged from coloring so often and as damaged as it is it's still very fine. I see so many comments about this being sticky or weighing down the hair. This as well as all the TiGi styling products are definitely less is more. I put a small squirt in my hands and rub them together then through my roots and then work it out through my hair after I brush through it. Then work it out through my hair from there. It's spreads very easy through my wet hair. Then blow-dry. If it's summer or I am letting my hair air-dry I use even less starting a little further out from my roots. and just blow dry it for a min if at all. This product literally controls all the frizz I would have and has also helped repair my hair in the process. I have had mine over a year and use it every day that's how little you need. I would imagine someone with thicker hair would need a little more but I would hate for someone to miss out on this great product because of the reviews. Personally love the smell of it, it's not overbearing. I have used this over their leave in color protecting oil as well if I don't brush my hair when it's real wet to avoid brush damage and it's still doesn't weight my hair down. If your on the fence try the small trial size. It will last a good time. The pump is awesome too!

Makes curls longer / Adds slip to straight hair

This is an interesting product. I bought this because it is a thickener - and I have been trying - and trying to find a replacement for the 7day shower treatment by John Frieda...if anyone finds something comparable let me know!! Anyway, I tried this to see if it would plump up my hair - I can't say that it plumped it - but it did add some interesting 'slip' when I straighten it - so it seems to have more body...when I leave my hair curly - it make the curls longer rather then really 'shirley-temple-ish' which is how they normally are...so my hair looks longer when it's curly. So I can say it slightly thickened it - but I use an additional thickener now and use this to increase 'slip' and not make me look like I set my hair in rollers. Terrible!

As a woman in her fifties, with lifelong ultra soft/fine hair, I have tried countless "thickening" products. 99.9% of which do the exact opposite of thickening! Which is maddening, and also the case with this ridiculous product. Ultra conditioning to help breakage is NOT what people with fine or thinning (from the scalp) hair need or want. They are two totally different hair problems. Someone should really point this out to the people who formulate these ridiculous "thickening" creams!! As you may have guessed, it made my hair very conditioned and it felt and looked thinner, not thicker. Ugh!
