I usually buy canned version but needed this so I bought it on a whim. First of all, the packaging isn't recyclable as cans, so already a loss of a star there. Second of all, it's extremely difficult to open these pouches without spray the broth everywhere. No matter how careful or slow I am of opening the pouches, I always have to clean up. Food also tends to get stuck on the bottom of the pouch and I end up vigorously scrapping it off with a spoon.

SO my cats like this food well enough. No complaints there. The ingredients are great for cats without extra fillers that don't do them any good. The problem is with the pouches these come in. The Velvet variety comes in pouches too but being a smooth blended product, comes out easily. This, being chunky doesn't come out of the pouch well. I have to get a spoon to scoop it out.So, get the cans. Seriously.

Last year, my two cats and I would have given this product five stars. This time, neither of them ate three of the four tuna combos with the same gusto as in the past which may suggest a change in TikiCats formulation. The tuna/calamari is next. I limit my cats' seafood consumption and have them share one pouch every 3-4 days to break the monotony from their other grain-free canned food and will continue to do so as I appreciate the healthy ingredients, including the pumpkin as a digestive aid and more importantly, the exclusion of the toxic synthetic vitamin K (menadione sodium bisulfite complex) alarmingly found in most other cat foods with fish. #sweepstakes

Overall, high quality cat food, according to the labeling, reputation, etc. I had been buying the Tiki Cat cans before. Decided to try the Aloha Friend line because of the pumpkin/fiber in it for my 9mo old kitten, whose poops seems a little hard on the high protein, primarily grain free diet. This 12pk happened to be in pouches. She & the other adult cat we have like it well enough, same as the other Tiki Cat flavors. The only thing I don't care for is the POUCH packaging. Many of the Tiki Cat varieties are quite liquidy anyway. The pouch packaging is practically impossible to open/serve w/o making a mess. Also difficult to get out what's left in the bottom foil creases. I can not say enough good things about tiki cat aloha friends. My cat loooooooves it! Human grade proteins. Grain free. It smells like tuna. You can see the pumpkin. You can see the shrimp. My cats coat is glossy and soft. I love tiki cat. And I love that the variety pack has 4 flavors and is very reasonably priced for the quality and amount. I swear by tiki cat and got her 3 other types to try: tiki after dark, original canned crab and lobster, and the tiki velvet mousse. I love that if she likes them all i can give her a variety without upsetting her tummy.
My cat LOVES this food! I was giving her Sheba perfect portions, which she also loved, but her bowel movements smelled horrific. I’ve noticed significant less odor after she uses the litter box with this food and she seriously can’t eat it fast enough!!! She only gets wet food at night and as soon as she hears that cabinet open she can’t get up the stairs fast enough to get to her bowl of Tiki Cat!!!
Our older cat has become very picky about what he will eat, so we are trying different types of food for him. The Tiki Cat Aloha Friends have gone over well except for the one with lamb in it. He's never had lamb before, so perhaps that is it.
We noticed that our cats urine was dark amber, almost red. We took her to the vet, where they recommended putting her on an all wet food, low carbohydrate diet. After some research I decided this brand looked really promising, so we switched. Kitty is much happier, urine color is normal, and both of our cats await meal time eagerly.
My cats love this! At first we ordered a variety of Tiki Cat options and thought this was their least favorite and were prepared not to order it again, but by the end of the box they were licking the bowls clean! I also love that it has pumpkin chunks in it since one of my cats is very white and fluffy and tummy problems can become a big mess for him. They love the pumpkin and the calamari and shrimp chunks.
My 2 cats love this. I wasn’t sure they’d like the pumpkin but they really do. I found that the food settles in the bottom of the pouch, so I give the pouches a thorough shake and the food comes out more creamy than liquid-y.I’m happy that they like the pouches because they don’t like all the Tiki cat canned flavors. But the seafood flavors are a hit, whether they’re in pouches or in cans.
