Absolutely awful. Smells awful and Tastes worse. Avoid. First product in this range that has disappointed but did so overwhelmingly.

Delicious

I pair this with Asdas Firecracker chicken, beautiful and healthy! I'm a fan of flavoured chicken breast with noodles, but with a gluten sensitivity, this is a much better option. I often still eat gluten despite the side effects because I don't want rubbish tasting food, but this rice isn't just a gluten-free option. It's just another really tasty option that happens to be gluten-free! Winner Winner, gluten free dinner :)

Delicious

This has a good flavour & is easy to prepare. Had with cajun chicken & it went well. No what I would call spicy but I do have a high threshold for spicy things...if you don't you might find it has a slight kick. I just jazzed mine up with jalepenos. Definately be buying again.

Nice warmth...

Received as a substitute for a review item, so reviewed nonetheless!! Stir fried with Ocado exotic mushrooms and it had a lovely warmth. Not painful-hot, but a kick of warmth that did gradually get hotter as I munched the lot. Nice to have something that's not just a bland 'carrier' but has a bit of something about it.

Really Nice

I don't normally buy microwave rice, but got this as part of a meal deal. It was tasty. Great to have in the cupboard for when you are in hurry.

Tasty

I believe this is one amongst the best in the Tilda Microwave range, its not too hot compared to the jalapeno rice. It's tasty, add some butter chicken to the side and its a good combination. I would reccomend.

To all the reviewers who say this is not spicy add some birds eye or habanero chilli flakes before microwaving. Sorted!

Tilda 'Firecracker' Basmati Rice [250g]

A 3-mins-to-heat microwave rice. My first taste/aroma impression is that the subtlety of Basmati is completely lost & all that's left is a tomato taste & the mildly spicy heat of red chilli, ginger, pepper & garlic - it certainly isn't "Firecracker" as per the name. According to Tilda it... "captures the vibrancy of a Chinese street food market through its distinctive fusions of heat, smokiness & zesty aromas, but I don't get any of that. All the Chinese dishes I know are better served with a plain, sticky rice or a Singapore-style curried rice - this doesn't really match with anything. Not interesting in the least. Underpowered. Unsuited to the claims made by Tilda.

Very handy

This is so handy to have in the cupboard. Use with a dish or on its own. Spicy but not too hot. Good flavour. Would buy again.

Yummy rice

When purchasing the product the first thing that appealed to myself was the packaging. Bright colours that stood out from the rest. The second thing was the flavour which was something I liked. The instructions were easy to follow and it's was very easy to prep. It literally was the last thing I needed to prep because it would be ready so fast. I had my doubts on the flavour of the food as I've never ate microwave rice but it surprised me on how good the quality and flavouring was. The spice was perfect and if I got served that at a restaurant I would've never of guessed it was from a pack that was microwaved. I will detonated be purchasing again and will explore the rest of the flavours.
