I purchased a 2-pack of these when the units with the replaceable battery first came out. I am unsure if there have been any changes since, or if these are still the same. The battery life and their "replacement" program were my biggest complaints about the product the first time around. Do I try the Pro version in hopes it has a better design? I already have a stockpile of CR2032s assuming a pro tile lasts to the point the battery needs to be replaced. Maybe I should just get a giant impossible-to-loose keychain for 99 cents and call it a day...Forever pondering...

Tile Mate has already been proven useful in retrieving my dog's correction collar. This latest one that I bought was to replace one that was chewed by my other dog during play. I would recommend to anyone using this on a dog collar who has playmates to sew the Tile Mate between the straps of the adjustable collar to give it added protection.

As they would think of it, they "organize" things. The items we're talking about range from their ipad to their sneakers. As a general rule tiles work at best 80% of the time you need them to. The rest of the time you could have the phone sitting right next to the item and its "out of range".It seems to come down to scalability. And my hypothesis is that it's not the tile software or tiles, but rather how the iphone manages bluetooth devices. It seems that the devices compete to check in and at a certain point some of them consistently lose and end up "last seen 14 days ago" when you know that the item is sitting in the drawer next to you and has a good battery.So ...Tiles are AWESOME when they work.Tiles don't work when you have a lot of them.How many is alot? We have 18 of them on one phone.Why all of them on one phone?Another thing we discovered early on is that tiles respond to the phone itself. The one that they last attached to. I mention this because at first we all got accounts and then shared access to the tiles. This was a real nightmare ending with my declaring one particular iphone to be "THE TILE" phone. All worked well until the number of tiles rose too high?How many is too many?I don't know. My hypothesis based only on reading between the lines on some writeups on how to fix the "tile not found" error is that the ideal number is likely to be 3-4 per phone.Why leave this review?I really like the tile product. I've used all of the tile versions. However, I can't find any realistic information regarding these real limitations that the product has and wanted to share my experience.I'm not sure how I am going to resolve the scalability issues. I may break out some retired iphones and split the tiles between them or I may look at some non-tile based solutions. I really don't want to walk away from this product though. It's well put together so I'll probably stick with using tiles even if they are only part of the overall solution.
Saw an add for a combo pack at an affordable price. NO description of what was included other than 4 mates and 4 tiles. Ordered product and received 4 discontinued mate products that don't have replaceable batteries. Had I known this (by the item clearly stating it on the website), I would not have ordered the product. They're letting me return it but I have to pay for the privilege to do so. I don't feel I did anything wrong and feel punished.Based also on their recommendation, I ordered skins for these tiles. Because this is a separate company, I'm now stuck with skins I can't use. All because someone didn't put a description on the web site that alerted the buyer.
I have not had tile for more than 1 month. Seems odd they don’t give me more time to test drive. I did have a few hiccups setting up, but with some determination I did find a way. Based on the short time I have had it I have no complaints nor no compliments. I wish the tile was shaped mor like a key or more compact. Also, wish the slim could be slimmer.I look forward to the first time I successfully recover a misplaced item. Hopefully it works as well as test runs have goneNote set up may require deleting first installment of app and multiple attempts to personalize settings. Not sure why but seems to be problematic at first but determined attempts will be successful eventually.
I love my tiles. It started after I lost my keys in the snow in the dog park once and spent hours hunting them down. My mom bought me a tile for my keys and I've bought at least 4-5 more since then. I have one on my airpods because I constantly lose them around the house, my keys and my wallet. I bought them for my kids wallets and keys. They really save a bundle of time, even when something isn't lost lost, it just makes it so easy to find around the house.
I hade an old model that lasted me a whopping 3 years until the wear and tear finally snapped the ring hole. I love the new design, much less blocky and more sleek. Feels better in my pocket and I haven’t accidentally hit the button yet! Also having the scan if found QR is a great new addition!
Tile Protects Our Fur Babies: We have Tiles on all of our pets. This gives us the security of knowing we can easily track them. We first starting putting Tiles on our pets after one of kitties went missing in 2015. She returned home a week later, evacuated and filthy but alive. It could have been much worse. Tile has prevented our babies from getting lost and has made it much easier to get our stubborn older kitty in at night. I also have Tiles on our key rings. I hav enough Tiles as presents for friends and for Yankee Swap gift exchanges. I love Tile!!! Thank you for creating a great product!
My cats are mostly indoor cats with a catio, but I allow them in our large fenced yard for a while each day. The one cat will sometimes jump the fence and we have to hunt her down. She never goes far, but without the Tile mate, she's often difficult to find. The Tile Mate allows us to pinpoint her pretty quickly. Before buying the Tile Mate, we bought a much more expensive GPS feature which wasn't as accurate and much bigger. We returned that and bought the Tile Mate, and I've really liked it.As for negatives, I would suggest to the manufacturer to make them smaller for cat owners. It's "okay" now but would be much better if it were smaller. I'm also looking forward to the technology to improve so the range will be broader.
