After 2 years, still great, with a minor issue

I am writing after having these for 2 years now, so not just after having for a week or wearing them once. Overall, this boot is great, and I love wearing them. I live in a climate with heavy snow, and rain. These perform really well. There are a two slight issues. In deep snow, these seem to let a bit of water in around the laces. Secondly, the tongue on the boots is a bit flimsy. One of them began to split at the mid seam, across the stitched point. Not a huge issue, I am just more delicate. When laced up, it causes no issues. But with a higher boot, they should have reinforced this part.Overall, I highly recommend them. Timberland is known for the quality of the materials & craftsmanship used in their footwear & these Earthkeepers are no exception. I purchased a 2nd pair when I began wearing my 1st pair a 5th year for I knew they were worth the price and with mink oil paste applied 2x a year the leather still had another couple of years left in it. Comfortable, 6" boots with a timeless design. Now on clearance for the wide width I will go down a size and order them as I will begin to wear my 2nd pair next spring and have the new ones to start wearing in 2029. Thank you Finger Hut for carrying Timberland footwear, worthy of your price & pairing with your other quality product lines !

The boot is pretty well constructed, high quality leather. The lace loop on the tongue of both boots ripped within the 6 hours. The stitching failed when tightening the boot. The boots are snug in the ankle and heel, but very loose in the toe bed. I ordered the correct size and they "fit" fine, but my feet swim because of the width of the toe area. heavy socks may help.

Favorite Boots
20 December 2023

I have purchased these boots 4 times so far; they are my favorite. I have one in every color and only have to replace them every 3-4 years after heavy use. They run big, so make sure you order a size smaller than your sneaker size.

I always got compliments with these more lifestyle shoes. I partly purchased them as well as their title, Earthkeepers, as well as the recycled content they use would imply that they are environmentally conscious and produced boots. As the soles wore thin I looked into resoling them and every local place turned me down and told me they could not be resoled. Also, Timberland has no resoling program, nor can you buy new soles from them. Beyond using more environmentally sustainable products, resoling a boot or shoe is the best thing you can do to extend the life of a boot and keep the waste out of the landfills. It would be like having to replace a car every time you needed new tires. This term in the industry is called Greenwashing where companies bank on putting a green label on their products but behind the scenes have dishonorable business practices. This boot did teach me to look for a boot with a Goodyear Welt so you can have it for life no mater if the laces are not made of recycled plastic because having one boot for 40 years is more sustainable than purchasing a Timberland boot that last for only two years.

Great for casual wear!
17 April 2016

I bought the Dark Brown Nuebuck boots for casual wear seeing as it is hard for me to get good looking shoes in my size and in the right color. I have had them for some time now and I absolutely love them. I've received many compliments on them. A note on the color: the picture is darker than the actual product color, but it's still a nice shade of brown. The design is also classy and rugged, yet subtle---out of all the people I've met with these on, only one could tell they were boots. The only thing that sucks is that this color might be discontinued (which sucks because this always happens to things I like) seeing as how my size is now unavailable (I always double check in case I need a spare pair); I might be willing to give the Red Brown Burnished a go, but that ... MoreI bought the Dark Brown Nuebuck boots for casual wear seeing as it is hard for me to get good looking shoes in my size and in the right color. When I needed help getting the right size, the associate was willing to go through many lengths just to make sure I got the perfect fit, and indeed I did; my feet and I are most thankful.

I'm pretty happy with my purchase
4 April 2022

I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I own a pair of Thursday Captains in black and they kinda set the bar high for me. I needed something in brown and I really liked the look of these. There are some things I love and some that are a bit disappointing. The boot is real leather and has a nice sole. It looks great and fits well. They aren't kidding when they say Timberlands run a size large. The boot seems durable and they're definitely stylish. The leather scratches very easily so I would not try to work or hike in these. Its also some pretty thin leather, especially the tongue. They look like a good year welt but are not - the stitches are for show only.In all, I like them. I would probably not buy them again but I don't regret the purchase. My next pair of boots ... MoreI'm pretty happy with my purchase. Less than expected
3 January 2019

I ordered these boots online in September of 2018. I had to take my first pair back because a size 10, like I would normally wear was too big. The store didn't have any for me to try on and a size 9 still seems slightly too big, but I wasn't going to exchange them for a second time. When I bought these I was looking for a fashionable and comfortable boot. I would describe them as only moderately comfortable. I would not recommend doing a great deal of walking in them. They are good for a moderate amount of casual walking in normal conditions. I did a several mile walk through the city in them and I was not pleased with the amount of stress my feet felt. The materials inside the boot could easily be more supportive and soft. I most likely would not repurchase these ... MoreI ordered these boots online in September of 2018. Served me well from the Kalahari to above the Arctic Circle
25 June 2020

I just bought a new pair to replace the pair I've been wearing for about seven years. The old pair served me well everywhere from hiking under the scorching sun in the Fish River Canyon in the Namibia to facing down elephants along the Kafue River in Zambia to running from mosquitos along the Kungsleden in Northern Sweden (and many, many other places). The boots are light and the leather forms very well to your feet and ankles to provide just enough support. The leather has held up very well- the only reason I'm replacing them after years of hard usage is that the soles have worn too thin. I wish I could post pictures here- I have a shot of the old boots side by side with my new. One note- I think these boots run pretty large, possibly due to the leather- I'm ... MoreI just bought a new pair to replace the pair I've been wearing for about seven years. I cannot recommend these enough and will happily repurchase them once the new pair wears out.

You'll never buy another pair for outdoors
11 August 2017

Actually I take that back. I'm about to buy my second pair of these boots. I bought the first about eight years ago. I wore them while doing plain-clothes work in the military in the mountains and deserts, wore them while hiking in the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, the Mojave Desert and three years of living in Colorado, hiking the Rockies on an almost weekly basis, and I wear them for any kind of heavy duty work, from yard to moving freight to snow removal. The rubber of the sole split in two before the sole came off of the boot itself thanks to some seriously superior stitchwork, took them to a boot repair and they just peeled the old part off, put a new one on for cheap. I'll never buy another boot but these. If a boot can stay with ME for almost a decade, it's the real deal. BUY. THIS. BOOT.
