I am on my third pair of these, and considering buying a fourth in the absence of a better option for the price. I walk a 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) in 43 -44 minutes, twice a day, summer and winter, on paved sidewalks and gravel paths or on the snow above. -35C with the wind today, and my feet were comfortable. Good cushion for impact for my application, but a bit thin under the ball for activity on rocky ground, or for digging a garden.. Padded cuff keeps the snow out, except for very deep snow -- and make for a poor fit with some pants cuffs. Treads last a year for me, which is satisfactory for the price in my mind. Interior fabric wears through at the toe about the same time. Inner toe cap is plastic, which does not breathe, and cracks, which might becomes a greater friction point if it now splinters. I note the image on Cabela's shows the speed hooks each have two anchor points, but this is not what I have received and is not what I see on the Timberland site. Mine have one anchor point, and one of the hooks on a earlier pair pulled out under light use. I cobbled a fix for it so got my year of use out of it. Two anchor point would for sure be better. By measure on one of the old metal foot scales, my size is 13+3/4, so a size 14 practically speaking. I found the size 14 in the Flume was too small, which may be due to the fact that I wear heavy wool socks, always. The size 15 is a little bit loose, which I greatly prefer over a little bit tight. Overall, these boots are "Satisfactory". Not outstanding. Not great. But most certainly not "BAD". With size 14 or 15, "Satisfactory" meets my needs and I am glad to have them. Relatively good value for the price.

Not the most comfortable boot I’ve ever put on. The side of my toes didn’t enjoy the fit and the outer material is exceptionally stiff (completely understand they’re leather. But shouldn’t be this stiff) Timberlands have resorted to style rather than comfort and durability.

Love how lightweight they are. I walk 12 miles a day outside delivering mail and these are so awesome. My only gripe is that I have not found a boot in 19 years where the tread lasts more than a few months. Awesome fit and price and also very comfortable. Wish I could collaborate with a company on some mailman boots where the tread is thicker and will last longer for us folks on our feet for 6-12 hours a day.

On pair number 2. The first pair worked great and never really wore out even after several year's use but I lost some weight and went down a whole size. I find the Flume to be a great choice for lighter outdoor work and hiking. The waterproofing works great, and the sole provides predictable traction even on steep slopes. The boots are relatively lightweight but still give more than adequate protection for outdoor work like heavy brush removal. They are comfortable enough to wear all day and run true to size.
I love this product. I hike a lot and I'll use these for my longer hikes. 8 miles in and feels like nothing in this boots! Easy on and off. Love these shoes. I choose men's boots because they're more comfortable.
I recently purchased this pair of boots for my Parks Maintenance job in Oregon. I work outside day each day and as I am located in the Pacific Northwest we regularly experience wet conditions. As such, being waterproof and keeping my feet dry was a main priority. On my second day of wearing the boots, water began to seep through the inside of the right boot. It should also be noted that it was not raining, rather just walking through wet grass and small puddles during my shift. On subsequent days with real rain, my feet had become soaked within the first 15 minutes of being exposed to the elements. As such, I would not recommend these boots to a friend.
I ordered these boots to replace a pair of worn out 1994 Timberland Euro Style Hiking Boots which I sent back to Timberland. The new boots arrived with 5 calendar days of my order. I've worn them for a week now, and they are breaking in nicely. The tread gives great traction, and the boot fits comfortably on my foot with a thin or medium pair of hiking socks. They are easy to pull on and lace up, and look good while wearing either long pants or shorts. Haven't had any wet conditions to test their waterproofing, but I like the way the tongue is connected to the boot so that no water can enter from the lacing area. The ankle support was tight at first, but is molding to my leg more and more with each wearing. I would recommend these boots to everyone. Here's to ... Bought these a little under two years ago and they are still holding up great! The only thing that broke as of recently was the little finger tab on the back heal. Other than that these are great! So comfortable and waterproof. I use them for hiking, camping, and even yard work. Don’t hesitate to scoop these up. I will be purchasing another pair soon as a gift for someone.
I purchased my first pair in the early 2010s ... they had a thinsulate lining. They were great Winter Boots ... they lasted 5 or 6 years and were replaced by another brand of Winter boots (regretably, somewhat). When ... this past summer, an add popped-up with these! Great ... I was looking for a new pair of 3 season hiking boots --funny how the Internet just knows ;-) I purchased them without hesitation because they have been my referrence ever since I swapped out my old pair. Leather stretches to fit foot perfectly (I have a wide foot) Cons: Not really waterproof, more wet grass or puddle proof. In both cases, the rubber sole became ... Leather stretches to fit foot perfectly (I have a wide foot) Cons: Not really waterproof, more wet grass or puddle proof. In both cases, the rubber sole became unglued from the leather upper... and in both cases I had to spend an extra 20$ to have them glued. Also in both cases, the leather becomes saturated with water and eventually get your feet wet. It doesn't happen instantly ... it's gradual so a mere puddle or wet grass won't get your feet wet, but walking in snow or on a muddy trail will eventually get your feet wet. That said ... I still give them 3 stars because they are so darn comfortable.
After six ankle surgeries from initial bread to Total Ankle replacement to two fusion attempts, this boot feel GREAT. One leg is 3/4 " shorter than the other so I have a lift installed in all my shoes and boots. This boot is so comfortable that after 2 years I ordered my second pair. I wear my first pair daily while I'm waiting for my lifts to be installed. My old pair are still in outstanding condition, just saddle soap and an occasional polish over the scuff parts. This has great ankle support for walking over uneven ground or rocks. Great, lightweight Boot
