Purchased a copy of days ago to fix timber sleepers together for some raise beds. Screws easily got through the timber and provided a strong joint for the square and rectangular frames. No splitting of the wood either, even without pilot holes. Overall, very impressed for the cost.

Out of all the screws I’ve had this one is the best. Screws in nice and deep and the extra counter sunk is amazing. If your looking for a good screw you’ve found your fantasy, as smooth in as it’s out

I bought these screws to resolve a problem with a jamming door. The existing screws had a narrower shank (4mm) and were slowly pulling out cause the door to jam. I have replaced them with the 5mm shank Timco which has high pullout resistance - the new screws have pulled the hinges in tight and the jamming door problem resolved. Hurrah!
We’ve used these to fit battens to restrain insulation on a warm roof and provide great fixing.

THESE ARE NOT FOR CLOSED HINGES SUCH AS WINDOWS!The description says can be used for hinges, but it should advise this applies only to the OPEN TYPE as found on gates, etc.
As with all Spax screws the heads never shear off even under pressure. The non-stainless steel type are also reasonably resistant to rust and will remain in good condition for many years even when used outdoors. They don't split the wood even when driven in near the edge. Overall, good value for money if you appreciate a quality product.
