Timemore Chestnut C2 Hand Grinder
Timemore C2 is a hand coffee grinder. It is durable, equipped with steel burrs, and it offers wide choice of grinding settings. C2 has a metal screw base, in contrast with the C1 that has a plastic connection. Its body is made from one piece of aluminum, which adds to stable work and durability. The lower container is made of plastic. Two deep groove ball bearings fix the center shaft to spin, which ensures the grinding core shaft spinning with a nice fluency and concentricity. That is the key to achieving a uniform grinding effect, even with lightly roasted coffees. Another advantage of the grinder are the conical burrs made of hardened stainless steel. Combined with stable axle, they provide even grind at every step of the coarseness scale. Last but not least, a patent dot-scale adjuster makes it easy to choose the right grind size. The bean container holds up to 25g of coffee. The grinder is especially recommended for pour-over brewing methods.

Performance:very consistent grind sizeBest Feature:makes excellent pour over coffeeProduct Quality:well built, worth the priceThe YouTube hype is correct. This is an excellent grinder. Pour over coffee is way better with this grinder because of the consistent grind size. Only complaint is the squeaking sound when you screw on the bottom. But the quality of the grind more than compensates for this minor irritation. Should have bought this a long time ago.

Pros:Produces a very nice grind, has a nice carrying case, steel burrs at this price can’t be beat! Very consistent grind for everything from espresso to French Press. Knurled aluminium body is very pleasant to hold and dual bearings make for an excellent action. Expect to grind 30 grams of ristretto grounds in just over a minute, which isn’t the fastest but perfectly fine, french press takes about 15-25 seconds.Cons: I would’ve preferred to have a clear lid, but this is a minor nitpick. Less minor is requiring a screwdriver to remove the outer burr and access the inside of the barrel for cleaning, which makes deep cleaning more difficult and time consuming. The included brush is too wide to fit past the bearing holder at the top of the device, which makes ... MorePros:Produces a very nice grind, has a nice carrying case, steel burrs at this price can’t be beat! I would’ve liked the catch cup to be maybe 5-10mm deeper, as a full 30g grind fills the cup and coats the burrs and adjustment rotor, making for a messy grind.Overall an excellent grinder for the price, perfect for individuals who don’t grind a huge amount of coffee. Gonna be fantastic for camping or other outdoor activities too. Definitely worth a look!

Hello, I bought a Timemore grinder a few years ago and loved it and it is a quality product except for the plastic lid which is very fragile and broke when I dropped the handle. I was unable to find spare lids on ebay so bought a whole new grinder from you just to get a new lid . So ideally you can source me a few spare lids because I will drop it again and it will break again as it is such a fragile part. Really hope you can help. Thanks again. John Irvine

I bought this as my first hand grinder, graduating from a cheap Bodum electric. Even with some plastic construction, the grinder feels very premium. Grinding is a pleasant experience, the adjustment mechanism makes sense as a “click-based” system, though would definitely benefit from markings to make it easier to recall previous settings. The biggest downside is how weirdly cheap the threading on the grounds container feels. I’ve gotten some very ugly squeaks out of it while unscrewing it and it feels oddly cheap compared to the rest of the grinder. Overall, for the price, these complaints seem unimportant! It’s a great value purchase as a quality, portable grinder.
I’ve been using this grinder for 8 months now for pour over and now moka pot. So happy with the flavour of the coffee. I’m making really good coffee with just this and a moka pot. Recently stayed at a friends with a very expensive machine and the coffee wasn’t as good as my little set up and so much harder to clean up afterwards. It’s fun being able to experiment with grind sizes. Grinds so quickly compared with friends hand grinders too. Such good value for money.
I recently started to look into manual coffee grinders, I have a good electric but it is noisy, and I made a mistake to go cheap with the first purchased. I was disappointed right out of the box. I continued to search and decided on the Timemore C2. Then the search to purchase started. I found Eight Ounce and it was the best deal I have seen to date and pulled the trigger. While I am currently out of beans, I am working on a imported bag of ground coffee, I LOVE the C2. 200 times better then the first one (that I got rid of same day I got the C2). it is sturdy, I had 3g of beans that I ground and the consistency is very uniform. I can't wait to buy a new bag of beans to really get using it.
