Does a great job. Had to resort to YouTube to determine which way to inert the terminal. Lucky I did as it comes from the back - non intuitive. photos show wrong way, right way and a good result.As a ratchet, keep squeezing till it releases automatically.

Heavy solid construction. Seems built to last. Good fit in the hand. Ensures correct pressure is applied via ratcheting mechanism before releasing jaws. Made in Taiwan. It is bulky and may be difficult to use in confined areas.

I have only had this set of pliers for a couple of weeks and in the time have done just under 150 crimps with it. It works well and feels good in the hand. Adding a little more length in the handles may be helpful for some people to make it easier to crimp, but I found the more crimps I did the easier it got as I got used to it. The only real complaint I would have is a lack of documentation. A simple diagram on the packaging that explains which direction to load the crimp would be useful.I find the small catch between the handles to lock the pliers in their closed position to be very useful and easy to operate with a piece of wire or screwdriver.
I bought this as I had some members credits that I needed to use. What a great tool to get. Forget those cheaply made crimpers that everyone sells, this is so much better. Put the connector and wire in and ratchet the crimper down. Perfect crimps every time!
Fantastic quality crimpers. Been hanging out to get these a while now, makes the crimping of terminals very easy and neat. For those that indicated during their review that you need to unlock them with a piece of wire or a screwdriver, try squeezing the handles a bit harder, they unlock automatically.
I bought these because I've been doing minor electrical jobs using cheaper non-racheting crimpers for decades, and I thought it was about time that I had some good crimpers. I've never used crimpers like these before so some instructions would have been useful, as I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to open them (use the adjuster). Once I got them open they crimped the terminals really nicely. However, to get them open you have to push the catch, which is between the handles, and it's quite hard to get your fingers into the space between the handles to operate the catch. It's quite fiddly and I can't seem to operate the catch one-handed, forcing me to take a hand off my work.
Many times I heard bad reports about crimp connectors, where "crimped" cables would fall apart.. Every time this happened it was because people were using those tools which were just pliers. Unless you are Hercules dont use the plier tools.These ratchet type tools are the best tools to use for crimping terminals. Years ago they were very expensive but now at $40 the Toledo is a real bargain. I could not live without it when it comes to electrical work
ten or more times better than the el cheapo type. connection grips firmer on the wire and crimpers dont pierce the insulation. much more comfortable and easier to hold making them less likely to twist in your hand. do yourself a favour and spend the extra $$$. must fully compress fitting before it releases which doubles as a locking device in your tool box
Bought this a week ago and works fine. I had a SCA crimper which I bought just before this one. The SCA crimper was of very poor quality. It would not crimp properly sometimes and the wire would fall out. I wasted so may crimps. One of the boys at the store said he had a Toledo crimper and it worked fine so I bought this one. I would like to be compensated for the crimps that I wasted with the other crimper.
