A really gorgeous and unusual light; a real statement piece. I bought the chrome one and during the day it is very shiny silver, which I don't love. At night, however, when it is switched on it is spectacular.Installation was straightforward. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it emits very little light. I am still using the recommended light bulb but I'm trying to find out if I can use a higher wattage bulb as it's not really functional as a light; you need additional lighting in the room.Even so, I have no regrets; it's truly beautiful.

The poor light emission (as per previous reviews) isn't the only problem with this light. That wasn't a concern for us, as our room has enough lighting and we wanted this only as a feature centrepiece. The translucent effect is certainly very attractive. However, there seems to be a design fault with the thread between the lid of the light and the bowl. We didn't notice this at first, but after changing a bulb we noticed that there was a gap which got bigger over time and eventually simply wouldn't screw back on properly. We took the light back and got a replacement. After a while the same thing happened with the replacement. Our purchase has now been refunded. But the people at Tom Dixon seem to be in denial about the problem. For this to happen twice is enough to convince us that there is a design fault and we certainly won't be buying another one.

Looks good but as others have commented the initially poor fitting gets worse until (after 2 years) the lamp can no longer be supported by its holder. Currently our 3 lights remain in place with large amounts of tape. Shoddy design or manufacture or both. Good job they are not involved in designing serious stuff.

I bought 2 of the lights, but I have not opened them yet. My bathroom is not finished yet.The designer helped me select the light colors. She went above anything I would have expected. I am looking forward to more purchases from Lumens. I am completely renovating my condo.
I have been coveting these lights for some time having seen them in store. I found myself compelled to look at them again and again when I was in the shop. They're not cheap but I couldn't be without it and when it went on sale it was a no brainer to buy it. I still have to finish decorating my dining room and this will be above my dining table. I am still torn about whether I should have purchased this large one or three smaller ones in different colours. I may still do the latter and find another spot for this large one. Wherever they are in my home they are so beautiful they add something magical. Highly recommended for the great design, colour options and ease of fitting.
We love the look of these lights, even though they were expensive. Not bright but that was never a problem, they have that wow factor. BUT similar to other reviews, once you change the bulb or open the light, there is a fault with the design when screwing the sphere to the fitting. It no longer sits properly and looks as if it is about to fall off. Very poor for what should be a quality item. About to start the process of taking it back but not impressed as there is a cost for fitting and taking down. Disappointed
I have looked at these lamps for a while as I find them stunning and I finally bought two of the mini silver for my living room but I am so very disappointing! Yes, the lamps are beautiful but a) they hardly give any light at all and b) the little light that comes out has a very unattractive grey/blue color! I didn't notice this when i looked at the lamps in the shop as they were in a light environment. There is no way of discovering this until the lights are plugged in - by which it is too late to return them. These should be sold as a small feature light with a clear disclaimer and not as "ceiling pendants".Very disappointing.
This is a statement piece. Looks fantastic in place, reflects the room layout when off and a nice smoke grey colour melt effect when on. Stunning. A little hard to keep the dust off though and when you fit, ensure there are no small particles in the shade or you see them when the light is on - annoying!!
We bought one of these on special order we had a very professional discussion with the lighting manager at our local John Lewis who confirmed that this was a top end design piece. We are thrilled - a local interior designer was stunned by it's beauty. I really disagree that the moulding detracts from the light - it is done beautifully and helps create the very dramatic lighting affect that is given from this fitting when on. It is a beautiful light both on and off and the visual effects that are given to a room are stunning. Cannot be more thrilled!
