I am much less impressed with the darker shade, however. It’s confusing to use, as it’s too dark on my skintone to use solely as a highlighter, but too shimmery to use as a contour or blush. It also seems to be pressed differently than the lighter shade—while the lighter shade feels silky and glides on the skin, the darker shade feels chalky and clings to dry/textured patches. Overall, I’m grateful and glad that I received this product, and will continue to use the lighter shade until it runs out. However, I would not repurchase for two reasons—half of the “duo” is unusable for me, and the price is way too high for what it is. If you’re looking for a luxurious, long-lasting highlighter and don’t mind spending some cash, I would recommend this product (especially if you have a darker skin tone, as the darker shades might work better for you)! The pressed powders untouched are so incredibly beautiful that it took courage for me swatch them. The powders themselves are so buttery smooth that they're reminiscent of cream highlighter. I've found it difficult to find a high end luxury pressed powder highlighter duo with the versatility, texture and exceptionally beautiful tone this one delivers. This formula is reminiscent of Pat McGraths pressed powders. I've yet to find one to top her formulas. This one parallels hers and has the potential to surpass it. I'd have to sit down and do a proper comparison to confirm this though. That being said, I highly recommend this product.

The attached photo is after 10+ applications. You can see there's barely a noticeable rub on the product. I received the moodlight shade and illuminate palette and was apprehensive about trying a new pair when I have a favorite but I must say, this put my normal makeup to shame. First, the packaging is very luxurious. It came with a cute little brown bag to protect it. It has a quality mirror and feels very high end. Second, the bronzer is underrated. I usually use a darker bronzer but spend forever blending it out. This gives more subtle warmth vibes. I'm actually surprised how much I love it. It lasted 12+ hours, didn't look cakey over liquid or powder foundation, and made the areas I used it on look flawless. I have larger pores and it hid them really well.

I'm honestly not 100% sure what to make of this product! It's really beautiful - but it's baked quite hard into the pan, so be mindful of the brush you use with it. I found it a little more glittery than the hourglass ambient powders (I've used Dim Light) and so I wasn't really able to use it on the face in the same way. It doesn't look good in daylight, but for an evening/candle light situation it's lovely. The two shades together actually look lovely on the eyes for a daytime look, but to use as advertised it's definitely an evening only item. The shades are really pretty and it's possible to use the darker shade as a blush topper, but little else. The shade is absolutely gorgeous and I believe it will work with just about every skin tone. I was a bit apprehensive as it was a little bit more peachy than what I typically use, but it looks incredibly natural and it is brightening. Lights up your entire face, does not look cakey and is buildable. If you want something subtle, this will work if you want something more standout, this will also work.
