Tom Organic - The Period Cup (Size 2 Super)

Maybe it’s just me but I had the hardest time using this cup. No one looks forward to their period but mine was made even less so knowing I had this cup to use. I purchased this cup because of the easy cleaning case. I’ve used many cups before but my problem was sanitising them (I’d forget about them boiling away on the stove and melt the cup). I have never had a problem using other cups. So I don’t know what it is about this cup but I have huge trouble inserting it. Then when I finally do, it won’t open. And I have to go through the same torturous ordeal again and again. After months of really struggling every period, I’m going back to another brand. I was hoping I could make it work but it’s just doing my head in.

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT

I bought this originally to try out since it was on sale. Once I got the hang of how to insert the cup it was an absolute lifesaver! This brand imparticular is amazing as you can discreetly microwave the cup to sanitise it, instead of having to boil on the stove (which can be quite awkward if you share a house). I only used to wear tampons during the day and pads overnight, but absolutely hated using pads! This has become the perfect solution! The only con is that I probably wouldn't recommend it to germaphobes as it can get messy if you're not careful!

Can't believe I ever lived without this!

Bought two months ago! Absolutely love it - a bit tricky to figure out at first but so easy now. Feel like I'm not even on my period when wearing this!

Changed my life!

I impulse bought this 3 months ago and it has made my period so much more bearable. I recommend using the c-fold technique to insert and didn't have any problems inserting it or with leakage. With sizing - size 1 is better suited to someone with medium flow and/or a low cervix and size 2 is better suited to someone with a heavier flow and/or a high cervix as it's slightly longer. I did struggle a lot the first few times removing it which I now know is because I have a high cervix and should have bought size 2. Removal is effortless now. I love that I don't have the be constantly changing products throughout the day and that I can insert it in anticipation of my period. Yes it's a little tricky at first, but do persevere, it is so worth it!

Easy to put in, difficult to get out

Bought this as my first cup. I like the fact it comes with the steriliser. Reasonably easy to insert and once in and settled it's pretty comfortable/unnoticeable. However incredibly difficult to remove, it's a stressful workout- not enough grip. Maybe it's that I'm a newbie will give it another chance next time and see if it gets easier.

Finally a good night sleep

Everytime I get my period I lose a week's sleep because I toss and turn and I can't get comfortable wearing what feels like an adult diaper. I was reluctant to try any type of period cup because I heard they weren't user friendly. We'll mind blown. It's an absolute game changer. It was super easy to use. I figured it first try and now (TMI) I'm going to bed in my birthday suit and have a comfortable restful night sleep. I'm sold for life.

Good but room for improvement

I've already left this feedback directly with TOM and they've taken it onboard to consider. The cup itself is great. The finger indents are a handy addition to a period cup. My only issue with this cup is its buttery softness makes removing in the shower almost impossible because it is soooo soft it's too slippery to maintain grip on the tag.

easy to use, everyone is different, but i had to cut the little tab abit shorter. wish it was designed with ridges for easy removal. comes with a case which is nice. it says microwavable but i personally dont feel comfortable doing that method, would rather boil it
