Got is recently so won't go over the top with the review. Looks pretty sturdy. Buttons are a bit complicated to work out to start but once you get it going it is ok. I bought this as I thought I could also set the timer for sleeping time - for example: the star was the bedtime and sun when it was time to go up. I didn't know both star and sun are supposed to be wake up times and you can't set up night-time. Son was excited with the clock and I thought I was doing right by setting star for 7pm and told sun to look to the clock as would change to the star - and it never did. Watching youtube videos I now understand why. PS - I have the older version.

Don't normally do this but it is just too good not share! The tommee tippee sleep trainer clock.Wow!!! It really is a miracle, for weeks our nearly 3 year old has been getting up at 5am, (I could not funcion) so we thought we would try this.Didn't think it would work straight away, we are now on our 5th day and she hasn't woken up any earlier than the time set at 7am and we even had a lie in this morning because I changed the time to 8! Every morning she's so excited to tell us she stayed in bed until the owl woke up and at bed time she sneaks into her room to see if the owl is asleep.Thankyou tommee tippee for creating such an amazing product from a now well rested mummy and daddy ❣️

This clock is absolutely incredible. My step daughter (2 and a half) stays with us 2 nights a week so obviously her routine with her Mum (sleeping on the couch instead of going to bed, no bed time, no. routine) is what she’s used to. Add not seeing her for 3 months during covid into the mix and she has come back absolutely up the wall. Our first 3 sleepovers she squealed her head off just by being put in the cot shouting that she wanted to sleep on the couch or in Daddy’s bed and then once she was actually asleep she woke up at 12am, 2 am and 4am and just point blank refused to go back to sleep no matter what we tried. I bought this but was very sceptical. It has honestly changed my life. You have to be realistic, if your child is waking at 5, set it back 10 mins ... MoreThis clock is absolutely incredible. Our little one literally jumps into bed now, ‘put star on!’. She’s reminded that the stars out so it’s bedtime. She’s then asleep independent in minutes. The first two morning we used it she woke up half an hour earlier than I’d set it for and lay there patiently and silently for that half an hour (I had to go in once and remind her to wait for Mr Sun). Then all you hear is THE SUN THE SUN. Absolutely incredible. You have to work with it. If you go in and get them, or let them come to you, before the sun comes up then it will lose its power. You need to stick to your guns and it will work. I’m so sorry for the essay I just can’t rate this product enough. I was at my wits end and now bedtimes are literally a joy.

Fiddly set up but does work as required
20 January 2023

Buttons a bit fiddly to set, had to get my husband to do it. He still has to set & send the Owl to sleep each night as I keep getting the buttons wrong! The clock works as expected - however although my son (3.5yrs) understands what to do he doesn’t necessarily stay in bed. We’ve had to use a reward chart alongside this. Week 1 nearly completed & he’s getting better.

Got it delivered fast so

Got it delivered fast so happy about that. I put one star though cause I discovered that exposure to blue light negatively impact your sleep quality, not good for toddlers who try to sleep through the night. Even set at the lowest intensity it is still very very bright. Do not recommend this product.

Great item, easy to use
31 July 2023

We bought this after a few too many 5am wake ups with our 2.5 year old. He understood quickly, only 2 mornings of reminding him to stay asleep when owl's asleep and he hasn't woken us before wake time in the 2-3 months since. I like that it can be completely dark through the night and have the preset nap and night times. I wish there was a battery powered option but otherwise no complaints!

Life saver!!
15 May 2022

This clock is one of the best things we have bought! Our son used to wake up a few times during the night and a friend recommended the gro clock to us.We were willing to try anything as we also have a 4 month old so we were anxious every night that he would keep waking him.Since using this clock our son has stayed in bed all night for the last 4 nights! This hasnt happened since our baby arrived. He likes that if he wakes up too early, he can count ollie the owls stars to see if its almost time to wake up. He knows if there are only a couple left, its almost morning. The clock is easy to set up, you need a USB plug, the lead is supplied but not the plug.If anyone is struggling to get their little ones to stay in bed, this clock is a must buy!!

Looking forward to growing with this!

We received the Groclock Kids Training Alarm Clock and I thought it would be perfect as a tool to assist in sleep training my two year old. He is developmentally delayed and it’s been hard getting a sleep routine to stick. We read the accompanying storybook (though I’m sure he didn’t fully grasp the context) and set the gloclock for nap as well as bedtime. He likes looking at it and even though he doesn’t understand the countdown he seems to understand the general night and day concept. After working with him to stay in bed at night and being up during the day it has helped. there are still times he’s up or that myself or Dad lay with him but it has helped. It is very easy to set up. I can admit my son has knocked it off his nightstand a few times and it still functions as designed. We also had a power glitch and it wasn’t impacted. Overall I’m looking forward as we continue to use this to sleep train as he gets older and hopefully fully understands its function. Oh and my older kids now want one. They said seeing the images vs time ticktocking away would be better for them.

Owl irony
21 September 2023

Kid likes "putting the owl to sleep" and usually responds well to the light in the morning. He does not like the blue light, so we appreciate being able to turn it off completely at night.I would not have kept it, however, if he hadn't liked the owl, as, although the concept is good, the interface and functionality of the item is ridiculous. It is not intuitive to set, requires manual activation at night (which has become a routine, but is silly that that has to be the case), has no way of delaying the alarm without resetting the time (a tedious process), and requires a constant plug in to the wall but does not provide a wall adapter. Honestly, in hindsight, I'd probably just buy a timer for the wall outlet and a nightlight and it would provide the same ... MoreKid likes "putting the owl to sleep" and usually responds well to the light in the morning. Super sleep aid!
8 January 2023

This gro clock is a great idea, helps young children tell what part of the night/morning it is if the wake up and its still dark. The colour changes when getting near to time of getting up and the hearts disappear one by one until gone and its morning. 6 year old grandchild finds it brilliant and its ideal for winter when so much darkness. V reliable, v keenly priced at €35 a really good buy. Totally recommend but maybe not for v young children, 3 + perhaps.
