Review - I have used purple shampoo for a long time, I mainly use Fudge but have also tried Elvive. This product doesn't have much of a smell to it which I don't really like in my shampoos but at least it doesn't smell like dye. The shampoo easily spread through my hair and a small amount went a long way which made application really convenient. After drying my hair it feels and looks in good condition, and the ends don't feel particularly dry. So as a general shampoo I cannot fault this product, however compared to the Fudge purple shampoo the silver tones just do not compare. This product hasn't left any brassy tones in my hair but it hasn't highlighted my silver streaks which is disappointing for me. I have my hair balayage’d and always worried for the brassy colour- but this, so far is a great purple conditioner on the market. A great duo for a purple shampoo conditioner to go for.

I thought this would be like any purple shampoo but I was proved wrong. The scent of the shampoo wasn’t chemically like the others, it was a fresh, clean scent. The consistency was slightly runny though, so be careful when using. I hadn’t used any purple shampoo since my last colour appointment about 3 weeks ago. I followed the instructions that was given on the back of the bottle, followed by the conditioner. My hair felt silky and smooth and once I dried it it was so soft. I noticed a difference to my colour instantly. It had lost that brassy colour. I continued to use the shampoo and conditioner for the next two weeks and my colour just got better and better. I would highly recommend this shampoo as it is the best that I have ever tried.

I used this in place of my normal purple shampoo that I use from Pantene as I have highlighted hair. The smell of this shampoo is really nice and the shampoo itself is really thick and dark purple in colour. However the directions of the shampoo states that it needs to be kept on the hair for a few minutes. This is completely fine for me if washing my hair at the weekends when I have time to leave for the desired time. However being a busy mum of three boys this is not always possible during the week or after a workout as I just need to wash and go as the saying goes! My new favourite haircare routine. ToniGuy new purple shampoo conditioner with pearl extracts which helps remove brassy tones. I received these full sized products from Influenster campaign in order to testreview. I think it's fab. My hair is so soft shiny. This combination works so well together. I have used other purple shampoos in the past this one made a difference to my brassy highlights after the first wash, must be the keratin and pearl extracts.Toni Guy are a quality brand and you can tell they have invested in the success of this product which works well. It’s the blondest it’s been in a while, so I’d normally use a purple shampoo (I’ve always found the conditioners a bit of a waste of time tbh) for about 10 mins every 2 weeks and sometimes follow up with a deep conditioner if I’d been out in the sun lots or styling. Note, most purple shampoos work best if you just smooth them over with minimal frothing - that just dilutes the juice in my experience. For background I’ve trained my hair to only wash it every few days. It’s fine, oily roots, and largely straight, with a bit of a natural kink and a tendency to go fluffy on the ends - thanks to the bleach. Greys are coming through (at the front especially) with their delightful rough texture. anyway, again, it just means a silvery tone works better on me. I rarely straighten as I don’t really ‘need’ to for the smooth look. A little serum and some leave In Conditioner normally does the job. Now, onto the actual review. Pros: Sturdy packaging It has an expensive, spa like scent Doesn’t stain showers/towels etc (despite saying it contains some dye) It does neutralise the shade - just a touch. Cons: It doesn’t actually include directions - how often, for how long etc, so I went by trial and error. It was too weak for fortnightly use (even when combined with the matching conditioner) But it dried out my hair a LOT after just one wash. After 2 washes I had to straighten my hair (to get the glossy look) and use some deep conditioner masks to regain my shine. I got to try this for free, but is more ££ than my usual drug store brand (before it’s even on offer, which it always is!) I’m just a bit confused by this product. I’m not sure who it’s actually trying to target. Having tried all sorts of combos (this shampoo with various gaps in use, with strong conditioners, styling products etc) it just makes my hair brittle, hang heavily and just generally a bit bleurgh. I’ve attached a photo, but this is after straightening. I’d follow up with a pic post just a blow dry, but tbh, I don’t think I want to use it again and it’s probably going in the bin. I’m gutted as I wanted to love it. But it just reconfirms that I was onto a good thing already, and at a fraction of the cost. Sorry Toni and guy, this is a big miss from me…

Good drug store alternative

Pretty sure this is my first time trialling this brand.I have bleached blonde hair and recently got it redone so using a purple shampoo every once in a while is must for me to maintain the ashy blonde look im going for.The packaging in my opinion is nice, looks good to display but I don’t like how the product is dispensed. I prefer a pump.I like that the shampoo is scented but not overpowering.I found that it cleaned my hair pretty well and the toning effect of it was great.
