I bought this on special and I have to admit I was trepidatious about spending so much even on special. I’m glad I took the plunge. This is the lightest, warmest doona I’ve ever owned. Also, it doesn’t smell or rustle.
Absolutely loving this doona. It’s so snuggly, light and looks like a big fluffy cloud! Amazing temperature control warm when you need it, cooler when the weather is warmer. I’d recommend this to anyone who loves to feel luxurious in bed.
I got this quilt to replace our Heritage one from Myer. I was debating as to whether or not just to get the same one as previous; but decided to go with Tontine as it was the same fill, but Aus made. It has been very warm so far (I don’t know how) as it doesn’t appear to be as soft/fluffy as our previous heritage quilt.
I really like the baffle boxes that allow the down to be evenly dispersed. It’s wonderfully light. There is a feathery odour that I was able to eliminate after 5 days by hanging the quilt outside in the sunshine.
This is lovely to sleep under, but it is warmer than I had hoped for. We purchased an 8tog quilt last year which is too hot here so this ‘all seasons’ quilt was supposed to replace it. Unfortunately it is less hot than the original, but still warmer than I had hoped for. For some this will be a great thing though!
So warm and light.We bought this after our old feather/down quilt was thinning out. No more waking in the night, chilly. It’s light on the body too, so you’re not weighted down but it still gives your bed a nice puffy look. We looked at quilts double this price. I’m glad I bought it. Being Aussie made/materials is a bonus.
It is a very lightweight quilt. Strong smells of duck which required to be aired for several weeks to remove the smell. Stitching and fabric was pretty ordinary. Unfortunately, once you open the bag, you are unable to return to Myers because of store policy. Although I like to support Australian manufacturers and products I definitely won’t be purchasing Homestead brand again.
