My husband and i love using this shoes for trail running, walking, hiking and for errands. It fits perfectly on my foot, it is comfortable and lightweight. I can use this for my exercise and daily routine like buying groceries at the store. I can even use this for work. It is comfortable and I can move fast without a second thought, because I have this awesome shoes, I found my match, but for my husband he said every feature that i say was right but i bought the wrong size for him maybe next time i will bought the right size for him, when there is a sale. #topoathletic #Sweepstakes @topoathletic @sweepstakes

Had the mountain racer originals and they were amazing. Comfortable and durable. Bought a new pair IN THE SAME SIZE as my old ones and they were huge. Used them for two 7ish mile hikes and they are showing many signs of wear for two relatively chill trails. Went to exchange for the next size and apparently they were final sale since they are the older model. Super disappointed in the return policy especially for a running shoe company. I will not be buying from Topo again.

I switched from Altra to Topo about six months ago. I love the Mountain Racer for trail running and the Zephyr for road. Ive been anxiously awaiting the release of the mountain racer 2, and was recently able to purchase them on a trip to the US. The feel was fantastic and a bit more flexible than the original mountain racer. However, after only two 20km runs on a gravel road I was disappointed to see the fabric around the lip starting to rip. I honestly think I got a bad pair because I haven't read any similar reviews of this problem. I tried contacting REÍ where I purchased them, but now that I'm back in the EU, their only suggestion was to send them back and pay for the international shipping. That's not really a solve for me as I'd then be left without the shoes ... MoreI switched from Altra to Topo about six months ago. I love the Mountain Racer for trail running and the Zephyr for road. It's a great shoe, but it clearly won't last more than 6 months at this rate.

I'm miffed at this purchase. Its a wider toebox than most TOPO which some might need, but there was nothing locking my foot into the shoe so my foot shifted in the shoe during my run, no matter how tight i laced it. The upper was a semi-hard plastic, and though more breathable, whenever i would push off, the upper bent into the top of my foot which made that part sore after running for so long. I really wanted to love these, and thought the lugs would help protect my feet from rocks and roots, but i felt every single rock underfoot as if it was a minimalist shoe. What's sad is, I took this out for 2 runs, and can't return it because i think it looks used 'enough'. So here i am paying on a shoe i will not wear because it does not protect my feet on a technical trail. ... MoreI'm miffed at this purchase. I LOVE the Ultraventure 2 - my intro to TOPO shoes - used Altras only for several yrs prior but their sole treads don't last long for a sandy dry steep trails of ID, not snug enough, and finally getting plantar fasciitis. But I needed a wide toe box because of forefoot numbness when wearing narrow shoes. TOPO answered my needs - I can run 10+ mi in my Ultraventures and no foot pain . I tried the MTN racer for a more technical version - I really didn't care for that heel cushion losing foot stability - back they went . I am still searching for the next trail TOPO to get ...
This is a super comfortable trail shoe that holds my foot well inside the shoe (I'm not sliding around in it). I've worn this for several double-digit trail runs, but while I love them, I had to switch shoes because these fit about a half size too small from what I normally wear. My toes kept hitting the top of my shoes. Had these been a little bigger, they would have been a great shoe for mild-medium technical trails. I found they had slippage running on an angled dirt trail.
The MTN Racer 2 is currently my favorite shoe. It's great on flat easy trails and more technical terrain. I've worn these trail running and hiking, a total of 50 miles so far. The Vibram is super sticky and the tread pattern is perfect. I feel very secure on a variety of terrain. The fit is great with a roomy toe box and secure heel. I have bunions and a somewhat narrow heel, so I struggle to find shoes that fit well. Thanks Topo for making shoes that make running more enjoyable!
These are the comfiest shoes I have ever had , this is my second pair . I have had 2 operations on my L foot and find it really hard to get something to actually fit my foot and then be comfortable as well . I don’t run , but I walk miles and miles and my foot is in the best pain level it can be after 10-15 miles . Wide , comfortable and flexible with good grip ideal for any terrain , the only problem is they are not even slightly damp proof , any moisture at all and you get wet socks , but it is easy to put up with. . Come out lovely from the washing machine too ! We’ll recommend if you have wide feet / bunions
After reconstructive surgery on one of my feet, I was on the hunt for well fitting, comfortable shoes. I tried Altra but was disappointed in their inconsistencies. These shoes were comfortable immediately! Plenty of room for sore toes but snug in the back of the foot, so they don't slip up & down. I am a (plant) nursery owner, so spend lots of time on my feet, on all terrains and in all conditions. These shoes have been foot savers!
I have bad feet. I have broken 1 foot and had surgery on the other. Both of them are wide due to their injuries. I also have plantar fasciitis that flares up at times. I bought another pair of shoes this summer that should've been good but they weren't, I got these shoes and even though the color was really bright, I started wearing them. Now they are the only shoes I can wear for all day. Any other shoe makes my foot hurt by the end of the day so much more than he is. these provide some great relief.
