Toro 22" Personal Pace Rear Wheel Drive Lawn Mower

Used this model 41462 for the first time today. 1st malfunction was that the "Fill Oil Here" sticker was pointing 180* from where it should have been. See Picture attached. Obviously not to difficult to figure out but still not a good start to the assembly of the mower fresh out of the box. The rest of the assembly was without any issues. Yes, it did fire up on the first pull and ran well. Initially noticed grass being distributed on the mower deck in bagging mode. Checked the seals on the grass catcher and all seemed to be good. When I finished cutting, I had as much grass on the mower deck that I had in the grass catcher. It also seems like it was never "Field Tested" for Performance and Function. Last Toro Recycler (16 years Old) was a much better product. 2 Star overall Rating for this one at this time.

Bought this about 18 months ago. Right away I feared it would not last and I was right. Developed a “chatter” sound after the first couple uses that I suspected was the transmission. Turns out it was, at the very least. First use this year it did not want to turn on. Changed batteries which seemed to fix it but larger battery still worked later amd would not start later with the smaller battery. Now after 2nd use of the year the transmission will not disengage. Makes it extremely difficult to mow. Rear flap was first thing to fall,apart last year. Best thing I can say about this mower is it’s quiet If I could return it I would. Very disappointed. Up to 20 hours on it so far, I operate it commerically. Absolutely awesome. The only downside is that you need to wait for the lawn to dry, this mower's grass outlet jams up immediately on wet lawn (small outlet). Most mowers are useless in the wet anyway. The individual height adjusters on all four wheels are a pain, but not a show stopper. The bag needs to be washed after every use otherwise all the holes in the material clog up and it no longer allows air through when catching clippings, that will also cause the mower to clog. The paint under the deck is already wearing, didn't take long, but just make sure to wash after every use. Bag is huge, nearly can mow twice as long as a 50L. Starts first time every pull. Just remember to do an oil change after the first 5 hours and every 20 hours after that, the engine will last forever. The engine could have been a bit more powerful - I would have paid more for that. Wide deck, this has actually nearly halved the amount of time I spend on client lawns. It's ferrari red, everyone comments on the mower and the pefect cut it provides. Best mower I have owned so far. Great value.
