I am so happy with this Product!I’ve always trusted Toughbuilt and when this tote came out on sale I immediately knew it would be a great purchase. It’s very well made and works exactly how I want it to work, I really like how the handle folds out the way so you can easily get large tools in and out. The side rail with clip tech is great because I have lots of pouches that I use and can store them on the tote and carry it all with me. It’s waterproof base and hard fabric makes it really strong and feels like it will last for years.Excellent product

A few comments for anyone who is trying to determine if this bag is for them.- Im a DIY guy (I've got a defective washing machine Im going to trouble shoot, broken sprinklers to replace because of neighbor's kids, and a bathroom remodel job coming up in the next few days). This is my first tool bag as I have previously used the soft wide mouth "doctor bags" brand bags (Makita, milwaukee) that come with powertools, but found I didn't like them because they didn't hold hand tools very well and did not inspire a lot of confidence in use.- My decision to go toughbuilt. I was on the fence about a tote vs backpack. I decided on toughbuilt because I like the idea of having essentially a modular tote with the clip belt system. I have several tool pouches coming in to determine which fits my needs best, and I love the idea of clipping them onto the tote.- Shoulder strap issue. This did not include the shoulder strap (purchased separately), but let me just say that it feels weird to use the shoulder straps. Let's imagine you stuff the outside compartments with tools or even utilize the steel beam (seen in the photo) to attach your modular tool pouches on. Now you throw this thing over your shoulder and guess what is going to be stabbing/jabbing/prodding you with each step you take. Its a weird design with a pretty big flaw, almost as if this was not designed to be used with a shoulder strap, or you must sacrifice your outer compartments entirely (Or store very narrow and compact items in them). You could say that if you have to strap it on your shoulders to empty out your modular pouches from the metal brace (bag) and put it on yourself (Belt), since its quick and convenient. Or you could alternatively put the clips on the front/back of the tote (Where the shoulder straps connect) but this does not bypass the issue of having tools that may poke you if you put them on the compartments running along the length of the bag-Compartments & attaching tool pouches. I like the organization of the tools within the bag. I like the organization whether the side or front/back of the bag. However, if you do want to add pouches to the metal frame, only certain smaller pouches will fit well. Anything larger and the pouch will elevate the tote off the ground (Which is a huge fumble on Toughbuilt's part, see my pics). I will admit that you can add the larger pouches on the front or back of the tote, but the metal side rail is really intended for smaller tool pouches.- Bag Weight. The biggest critic I have heard about this is the weight of the bag. While I was at in store at Lowe's, I grabbed and tried to compare the weight between toughbuilt and kobalt/craftsman/dewalt, etc. The toughbuilt is definitely heavier, but i'm not sure how significant this would be for you or me, it was minimal with the bag empty, but could be more noticeable as you add your tools. As you can see from my photos, my tote isn't stuffed to the gills. The space inside the main compartment is empty, and I'd likely put my powertools/extra batteries/ or a small organizer with various misc parts (think drywall anchors, tapcon, screws, washers, etc). However I can imagine walking up a flight of stairs to be straining on your shoulder and arm. But with the shoulder strap, it actually feels much lighter, as the weight of the tote is closer to your center of gravity and balanced, as opposed to all the weight hanging closer to hip/knee height, creating a lever arm that strains much more. I don't intend to walk this across more than the length of the house. I would NOT take this up a ladder.-Features I liked. The handle rotates to give you clearance to access the inner compartment much better. The metal beam can have magnetic items attached to it (Like a flashlight) and provides a place to add future add ons (eg, tough built clip pouches or even velcro strapping pouches). The bag feels pretty durable, and for something that weighs more than the husky / kobalt / etc, I would hope so! But I wont be going on any construction sites so I will likely never wear this bag out. Bottom is rubberized rather than fabric, which means you can lay this in a puddle and it will remain dry and its easy to wipe down dirt or dust.- Sizing. I think 16'' is a really good size for someone like myself who isn't lugging the bag around an apartment, hotel, or any other mobile setting regularly. I only move this thing across the house, if that. However, If I did have to take a flight of stairs regularly, I would consider grabbing something smaller. There is no way I would bother bringing this up a ladder with me if I had to do something on the roof.Overall, I have found that I really like the size, and most importantly storage offerings. For my needs, its great. But there are definitely drawbacks to the design of this bag that make me raise my eyebrow as to why they made certain features the way they did.

Extremely heavy duty, multiple internal and external sections for hand tools. I purchases two of the external "clip on" bags which are also nice, although the clips take a minute to figure out. Once you clip them in place they to get in the way of the compartments underneath, but they are easy to unclip. I don't know why the tote included a stand-alone clip, since the add-on bags all include clips - its unclear what to do with this extra clip... Overall I am very happy with this purchase - its a huge improvement over slinging my toolbelt everywhere and clearly this company spent a great deal of time thinking about the design of this product, which I appreciate.

Lots of pockets included on outside and on inside of each divided section. 3 sections. Comes with 1 accessory clip. I like the hard bottom, so it doesn't tip over. The outside metal bar allows for expansion. Doesn't come with strap, but doesn't cost much to buy separately. Overall, I'm happy investing in the Toughbuilt system. This would be great budget-friendly purchase for a homeowner or tradesman looking for a durable tool tote with room to grow.
I was able to merge three smaller tool bags into this one, well designed and functional tote. It carries everything I might need for minor roadside repairs of my tractor trailer. As you can see from the pictures, it is big enough to hold everything, but compact enough to fit on the passenger side floor of my tractor. One big plus is that when you reach in to pull out a tool, you don't wind up pulling out three other tools with it. I could keep going, but I think you get the idea. Buy this bag with extreme confidence!
This tool bag has made a very high-quality canvas material with a plastic/rubberized bottom. The bag is very durable and the handle is made very sturdy. I was able to put in several drills screwdrivers and hammers with ease. I like all the small little pockets and the modular bar on the outside for additional pouches.
I bought this tote thinking it would work out great as an open top. I went from a Veto Pro Pac MCT to this tote. The tote is heavy to start and once loaded down with tools it gets heavy fast. To transport the tote you need to have the shoulder strap or carry the handle in the middle. It was a strain on my shoulder and back so I went back to the Veto and returned this tote. It looked well made and has plenty of storage all around the tote. with the weight being spread out from the center handling becomes a challenge. This would be great for a weekend warrior, but for every day use I will be going back to the Veto.
The material is strong and put together well. It seems like it'll take some abuse. I don't like the plastic on the bottom it protrudes into the base of the back giving it less room. Maybe just wasn't what i needed. Don't like the add on pouches its too much. Juat make the pockets it little bigger.
I upgraded from my milwaukee packout 15 inch tote. yes, upgraded from the more expensive tote. This thing is fantastic! First of all, it allows for a ton of organization with how it's pockets are designed and they are in 3 different sizes so you'll be able to choose the right pocket for a tool.My knipex end nippers fit in one tool pocket very well, while the cutix razor knife fits in a completely different pocket perfectly. Those who like to carry a bunch of different screwdrivers might find issue, but I only carry one multi bit and one ratcheting screwdriver to reduce weight. It also fits my 12 oz dewalt hammer without obstructing the articulating handle. Finally, the way you can add toughbuilt pouch clips to both ends, and to the rail, is the biggest game ... MoreI upgraded from my milwaukee packout 15 inch tote. yes, upgraded from the more expensive tote. You can put the bigger pouches on each end, and the smaller pouches on the rail. This both adds to versatility of storage and is a major convenience.Because I know these reviews get read, the recommendations I would make to improve this design are to move the clip rail up about an inch and a half, and to change the pockets on the inside ends. They're kind of tough to make use of, because they're just odd. Maybe they're designed for a specific use that just isn't useful to me, but it would be cool if they were a bit more versatile. Those are small gripes for a really great product!
I'm a big fan of the clip tech pouches, own several, and liked that this tote could carry them. My multimeter and impact driver are not constant use items and I liked that I would be able to clip them to the ends or to the bar on this case until needed. Unfortunately this case was already heavy while empty. I get that that means it'll be super durable but I know I'd hesitate to want to bring it into every jobsite because of that, defeating the purpose. I was also under the impression that it would be modular; that the dividers could be rearranged or removed but they can't. I opted for the 30" modular bag instead and will see if I can attach clips or a bar to that.
