This review is for theTP-Link Archer AXE5400 Tri-Band 6 Stream Wifi 6E Router Aka Archer AXE75. I got it to replace the one from my internet service provider. I was having trouble with that one where it was constantly dropping the wifi connection and I found myself having to power cycling it every few days to reset the connection. Since I installed this router I have not had to reset it at all so yet. It was very easy to setup after a phone call to my isp to let them know I was swapping my router, and downloading the TP-Link Tether app. The AXE5400 has 6 antennae that can be aimed individually to increase your signal in various areas of your house. This is a dual band router (2.4 & 5Ghz). We have various streaming subscriptions in our house, usually going on multiple devices simultaneously and I have not encountered any lag as of yet. I only have this about a week but so far so good. It has a triple core processor and can accommodate over 200 device connections. It uses WPA3 security and is One Mesh capable so you can easily extend your network to any dead spots your may have. It has parental controls and Home shield Protection and works with a VPN client. Although, as mentioned, I only have this about a week the speed and signal strength have a profound improvement over my old router. There is a physical button for wifi on/off and you can shut the led lights off. Before I got this router I was looking into a gaming router since my daughter is a gamer, but I don't see any reason she would benefit from it given the performance of this router. I rate it 5 stars.

Setting up router was a piece of cake and there were no syncing issues at all like all of pur previous routers over the years.. yay!!! There are two options. Create an account or use a ethernet cable through the router into a device. Perfect in case one does not have a device with an ethernet port. It took less than 10 minutes to unbox, plug in the cables, and select the user name and passwords for the router, for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz. We have different devices that use one or the other so having both available on the router was a must. They even have a 6 ghz option! I couldn't believe how fast our old 17 inch laptops were after changing to this router. I was just about to toss them in the trash thinking they were outdated. Gaming is so fun now. Much less frustration! We have a bonus room upstairs that is far from our office downstairs where we keep the router. Range extenders didn't even work. No issues now. Totally happy. I like the software better than any prior router we've had. No user name to sign in, just password. Easier to maneuver through the to personalize settings, updates and clean logs. Comes with added HomeShield wi-fi security if you want to use. Very happy and just saved us headaches and a fortune I almost spent replacing laptops!

The TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Router is almost great. The router hardware is perfect. It was quick and simple to setup using an internet browser on my computer. I was not forced to download and use a smartphone app this time to make the router operate. I also was not made to register or give any information before using the product either. Within just a few minutes I was up and running with a strong Wi-Fi signal flowing throughout my entire house. Excellent! The speed was faster than my old TP-Link router also. I especially like the Wi-Fi schedule feature to turn off the Wi-Fi when not needed. I did not have any issues navigating or understanding the controls. You can also hang it on a wall or have it sitting on a flat surface with the antennas being rotatable.Where the product falls short is needing to download an app to a smartphone to now use basic features that used to be part of the web-based interface in my old router. If you want to have customizable Quality of Service, or be able to designate which devices take priority on your network, you must use the HomeShield app. If you want to turn on network security such as DDOS or denial of service protection, port intrusion protection, or malicious content filtering, you must also use the app. Those features are also HomeShield PRO features meaning you must now pay for it. The cost is currently $5.99 per month or $54.99 per year. If you want to have limited parental controls you must also use the smartphone app. If you want to have more advanced features you must pay for those also.So that is my main complaint is needing to use a smartphone app. The router hardware itself is great otherwise. I have a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout my entire two-story house. I do not use or care about parental controls. I will not pay for DDOS or other network security protection. If my router gets attacked I will just turn it off and unplug it. I do like to assign what devices take priority on the network though so this is disappointing that I need to use an app on a separate device to designate that. What I hate about these apps is when the companies decide to no longer support the apps then that is the end of the product, or in this case it will have limited features. So, this is an excellent product for me that falls a little short.

The item arrived in an attractive package, with much of detail regarding the product. Much attention was provided regarding it's WIFI 6E capabilities.Setup was simple and for the most part self explanatory. Detailed instructions are available either thru The Tether app (Apple or Google). In addition there is the provision to setup through your Web browser. I chose the latter and was guided through a step by step procedure. My internet provider was identified and configured without any intervention from me. Setup for wireless Wi-Fi again was easy and effective. The whole process took very little effort and time. Some more examination of the many capabilities offered gave me the impression this router would be able to meet the needs of many.Local connections both 2.8Ghz and 5Ghz connections were both attempted without issue. performance was consistent with my previous router. The WIFI 6E connection attempt was more difficult. The problems encountered were all related WIFI 6E compatibility issues. I first tried to connect with my I-phone 13 and was not able to see the WIFI 6 signal. After some research I found although touted as WIFI 6 compatible, it was indeed not WIFI 6 ready. Now onto my Windows system. I verified my Windows wireless adapter was WIFI 6E compatible, again no connection was found. After some research, I learned that windows 10 itself was not compatible, even though the wireless adapter was. No support was or will be provided. WIFI 6 support is only provided in Windows 13. A friend of mine had a new laptop running Windows 13, we were able to connect without issue and remarked how fast and responsive the connection was. Also provided in the rear of the router are 4 1GB LAN wired connections, and a convenient power on/off switch. My overall impression of the features and capabilities are positive. WIFI6 capability is cutting edge technology that not all will be able to take advantage of but it is there and work outstanding. This is a high performance router for now and the future.
Relatively easy to set up and replace my ISP's Router. Labeling all of the devices was a bit more difficult! The wired CAT 8 connections were a piece of cake as they identified themselves in the list. All of the wireless devices were a bit more difficult to pinpoint and label correctly, (Alexa x4, Smart TV, Nintendo Switch, etc.). I have a total of 15 devices connected to my Router including a TP-Link TL-SG105E Business Grade programable Switch. Setting up a Guest Account, (one where they don't use the already established credentials, is proving a bit problematic). This TP Link router has an easy and dynamic approach to setup, allowing for multiple configurations for a variety of situations for network needs. Initial setup was smooth and simple, and it has auto updates for firmware and regularly updated by Tp-Link. Switching from a 2.4/5ghz router to the tri-band showed a estimated 60% improvement on speed to the devices. Router has options for online security with Homeshield if your devices support it. Sensitive data and ability to limit access for kids and guests if needing to manage the network. There are quick advance features as well that allow for device setup. Also allows for Alexa control. You can prioritize gaming and other speed features, as well as safe guest networking using your voice. I received the tp-link Archer AXE5400 Tri-Band 6 Stream Wi-Fi 6E Router to review. The router came nicely boxed. I will start by saying that I do not know that much about routers or all of the specifications, but I do know when one is working well, and I do know what I like and don’t like about Wi-Fi coverage. I live in a larger city in a stone house that must have a lot of metal in it that prevents any reception of data while using my smart phone indoors and to use my phone at all I must use a Wi-Fi connection. Like most households there are several phones always connected, a couple of televisions, a printer, gaming console, at times a tablet and my desktop gaming computer. Like most households there are several phones always connected, a couple of televisions, a printer, gaming console, at times a tablet and my desktop gaming computer. The computer is the only device that is connected with ethernet (hardwired) to my internet along with the router and modem. Prior to receiving the AXE5400 I was using the router provided by my internet service. The set up of the AXE5400 was relatively easy although I had to call my provider to “allow” it to be installed. What I like is that this is a strong router and has 6 antennas (see my pictures). It provides a much stronger Wi-Fi signal throughout my house to the main and upper levels of my home with no interruptions when walking from room to room. I am no longer getting any dropped signals which is great, and even when most of the electronics are connected to the WI-FI it gives the same strong signal to each item. What I don’t like is when you install the app on your phone it has a “detective” that tells you what things are connected to your Wi-Fi, but it does not recognize what they are or tell you the names that you have given your devices. Instead, it only gives you the IP address of each device listed. It states that there is “Homeshield” a security feature, but I haven’t found any Homeshield that is included without paying for a subscription. It also says there are parental controls, but that feature isn’t there either and I don’t see how I could use it when I would have to know and program the IP address of devices. I also did not like the fact that as soon as I logged into the account both on the computer and the app on the phone, they tried to sell me packages and subscriptions to enable those features. Those types of features were previously included with my internet provider, but since installing this router, those services will not work through my provider either. I have had this router now for 2 weeks and am still trying to figure out everything as there are little instructions or descriptions of things, and extremely limited support. I would say that if you are looking for a stronger signal in your home that this router may work for you as like I said it does provide a stronger signal to many rooms.
I was in need of a router, and to find one that is reliable for my recently bought electronic. Let's just say one that is as upgraded as my many devices. So giving this a try and honestly it is a terrific update from my 2017 router/modem!It's so much more powerful, with better images and quality on every TV I own.I never knew it was possible, but it is! I wonder why I never thought that the router played any role in making my gaming and video streaming so much better. The way it gives me a better visual while watching movies and tv with the family, how it doesn't buffer or slow down while playing. I mean my old router would play things great, but my new Samsung TV which is connected to the router is in the same room. I mean my old router would play things great, but my new Samsung TV which is connected to the router is in the same room. Plays like something that is a distance away with 2 or 3 bars. That shouldn't be and now I know, the router/modem needed to be replaced.Thankfully, this device was easy to install with such a flat and simple design to use. I feel way better knowing that no matter where I am in my house or even outside, my devices will run better. Well not just knowing, but actually using them and not having stalls or issues where there is so much buffering or reduced connection with anything I own. This is the best thing I could have done for my new devices and even my old ones. My house is now up to date and it's all thanks to this device.
Upgrading my router to the TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E RouterI have used TPLink before and find them easier to set up than other kinds and this new one is even easier and efficient to set up!I often worry more about setting up networks, then actually get into it and am pleasantly surprised.I like how easy TPLink routers are to set up and to upgrade. I simply used the same names and passwords so I didn't have to remember what signs into what media wise and it was easy to get everything back up and running.Notice faster, better quality at once! This makes me wonder how many years my routers have not been using the full Fiber speed .with better security and ability to extend with mesh if needed this router is powerful enough for everything we need now and in ... MoreUpgrading my router to the TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E RouterI have used TPLink before and find them easier to set up than other kinds and this new one is even easier and efficient to set up!I often worry more about setting up networks, then actually get into it and am pleasantly surprised.I like how easy TPLink routers are to set up and to upgrade. I did find it a bit confusing instead of simply naming networks it has a guest network. but I got everything set up easily. the longest part was waiting on the firmware update.Easiest router setup - got everything up and running within half an hour!It works great with old and new devicesthe hardest thing is remembering how to update network on older techno issues with phones connecting and visiting friends decided to update while using the new network because it is so much faster than their fiber router at home! No issues connecting anything unless the password is typed wrong connects fast and easy to all devices and holds strong on everything no matter how many things are connected gaming and steaming.
This is not my first TP-Link router and I own several other TP-Link products and all have been excellent performers. Luckily, the AXE5400 has been truly amazing. This the first router that has passed a wifi-6 signal through two brick walls for a total distance of 30 feet. Not just a signal but a strong 5 bar signal to boot. I'm using it in conjunction with a gateway from my ISP so, at the moment, it's just a glorified access point and a 3-port gigabit router. The gigabit port are transferring at gigabit speeds. However, as usual in my case, I always have trouble changing the network IP address to match the gateway. So I just can easily access the AXE5400. It is necessary to connect to it with an ethernet cable. But, I am thrilled with the wireless range. This now lets me move throughout my property without switching between router and gateway all the time.
