The TP-Link AX3000 dual band Wifi Deco with 6000 mesh was just what the doctor ordered for the connectivity issues in our home. In a 3000 Square foot home with 7 people (including children), connecting to the router (and with so many devices), we needed a solution to prevent the dead spots and speed issues that have been occurring. You download the app, connect the Wifi Deco according to the instructions, wait for the blue light to turn green and you're almost there. The Wifi Deco application is entirely user friendly and comes with robust anti malware tools; a malicious content filter that blocks malicious websites, an intrusion prevention system and an infected device quarantine that prevents any infected device from sending any sensitive information out to clients outside of your network. The parental controls allow you to monitor and manage internet usage for each member on your network. This is great for filtering content based on the age groups in your home or completely blocking particular apps or websites. It also allows for time limits so you can define how much time your family is spending online. Last but not least, you can set priorities for devices and applications for faster performance, (like games, streaming, chatting etc) All of this at the touch of your fingers and providing far more information and control than you had with a regular modem/router in your home. For me, this is really a plus. If that isn't enough, the system is also compatible with Alexa! Now you can use voice control to manage the Wifi! They state that you can also connect more Wifi Decos if you needed to extend your coverage beyond 5000 feet. Add to this the fact that they're simply attractive and blend in with any decor. It's a highly economical solution to what could be much more expensive and in my opinion, it's a lot of value for a very affordable price.

There is an app you download that essentially does all the technical work and just prompts you to do what you need to do to set everything up (which basically included plugging things in, getting the app, then choosing a password for the network). One hiccup I had was my TV had trouble realizing that my old Wi-Fi was gone (I could not Air- Play or stream over Wi-Fi). But that was more a problem with my TV than this awesome wireless network and was easily corrected by updating my TV remote app. The only other thing I goofed up was forgetting to add my printers to the wireless network. So I asked the TP-Link app how and it was SO easy! Follow the printer setup instructions (push a Wi-Fi button on the printer), then the app made the network discoverable and within 30 seconds the app/network connected to the printers and DONE! So easy- seriously the most seamless setup I have ever done. So much so that when hubs came home from work, the network knew him! WOW! I had told his iPad (at home) about the new Wi-Fi while he was at work and when he walked in the door, Deco knew it was him and added his iPhone and iWatch to our network without him having to do anything!! That is so cool! The app has so many functions as well- like limiting kiddos screen time or specific devices getting the most speed when there is a lag. I cannot say enough good things about this wireless router!

Before installation I had my home main router in my home office. I pay for 200mbps download from Wow. If I try to connect to the internet from my bedroom on the other side of the house I could only get 40 to 50mbps and sometimes it would drop completely. After installing the 3 node Deco X60.. one in the home office, one in the basement that is halfway between the bedroom and my office... and one in my bedroom. Now I get 160mbps to full 200mbps speed in my bedroom. Whooo Hooo... it works! Note: after installing this each of the nodes needed to autoupdate their firmware. Before this firmware update the download speed was half of what I am getting now. Point is.. make sure you update the firmware if needed.
