I bought these to replace an Archer AX90 Router as I wanted mesh Wi-Fi. Unboxing was a pleasant process, well packaged and minimal plastic and rubbish included. Setup was equally pleasant. First installing the single using the deco app and setting it as the main. Before installing the second and connecting via LAN directly to the first one to have wired Ethernet backhaul. The wired backhaul is important for larger homes with black spots. So far it has been working well, i do note that in the app some devices seem to fall off of the network, but as soon as I start using them they show up again. This isn’t behaviour I have seen before from my iPhones etc, but doesn’t seem to affect anything. The negatives: It mainly revolves around the software. 1. This isn’t behaviour I have seen before from my iPhones etc, but doesn’t seem to affect anything. The negatives: It mainly revolves around the software. 1. There is currently NO web based setup page. It is all done in the deco app, which can be frustrating for people like me who don’t like using phones for everything. 2. The VPN client is gone. So my older Archer was able to setup as OpenVPN for remote network access. Which was fantastic if I were away from home and had issues with my various home automation controllers. Being able to remotely login to them through the VPN means I could diagnose or reboot them remotely when on holidays. 3. You cannot seperate the networks. I had hoped to seperate the 2.4 network to a seperate SSID for my older IoT devices, but instead have to use my older archer as a dedicated 2.4 only network as some don’t like the combined 2.4 and 5 ghz networks. That’s about it so far… Wi-Fi strength and speed seem good. I’m on a 400/50 FTTP plan and can access the full speed when checked using Speedtest.net on both wired and wireless devices. My issues above are all software related and I hope these might be addressed by Tp Link in the future.

I replaced an existing mesh router with this TP-Link Deco and I'm so glad I did. Easy to set up and operate. Also a big plus, I'm getting the speed I paid for. Unlike my previous router.
