TP Link OC200 Omada Cloud Controller

I had started to control the AP's from a software platform off one of the office computers, but found that had complications due to it having to be left on continuously. The controller has fixed all of that and makes the system connection seamless.Would recommend others to get it if you are setting up the Omada AP's in a work environment.

Personally I love products by TP-Link, they are priced competitively and usually have great build quality.They have many different products of different sizes and such depending on your home/business or your wallet size.This, was a very fair price and works well. The software is great and it gives you a lot of control over the network unfortunately due to it also being cloud operated I have found that I have had down time and connection issues as well as slow load times. If it was just running through my network I believe I would have better performance and slightly better security because it would be managed by me and on my local infrastructure. It does what I need to do which is all I can ask for with just a few hickups from time to time.Overall love the product and love other products from TP-Link!

I am very pleased with this bracket for my TL-R605 router and OC200 SDN controller. It allows me to conveniently mount these otherwise homeless units in an attractive rackmount environment. It is precisely engineered and the aforementioned hardware fits perfectly within. The structure seems very sturdy and durable. Highly recommended.

I am using this device to manage a small mesh network of TP-Link Omada WAPs in a home network environment. I don't have a full-time server to run the Omada Cloud Controller software, and didn't want to run it off my workstation. I considered building a Raspberry Pi to run it but this device was cheaper. Physically the device is small and metal, with rubber feet and screw holes for wall mounting. Install was a breeze, PoE means minimal cable mess. A rackmount would be a nice touch if you wanted to nitpick, but otherwise this is great. Setup was also a breeze, the browser interface is refined, intuitive, and polished. The device needed to update firmware on both AP's to adopt them but the through-network firmware upgrade system is slick as could be. Since then it has been chooching right along, consuming almost no power, and doing its job flawlessly. Yes, this is wildly overkill in a home network application– clearly this is built to manage dozens and dozens of AP's. But I enjoy that aspect of this product, this thing is commercial-grade and it shows. TP-Link has really done a nice job of step[ping up to Ubiquiti's level, offering similar if perhaps lighter-duty products at a much more reasonable price-point. Two thumbs up for sure.

It's fair but nice to not worry about the controller

For $99 and what it does - and given the fact you can run the controller in a free Docker instance - I kinda wish the stupid thing had a bit more on board storage for logs... or allowed a USB thumb drive to hold logs. The lack of logging capacity and no way to extend it really dings the device to be honest. Big deal that I can back up the device on an external hard drive - logging!!!Otherwise - it lets you manage all your Omada stuff easily - and that's nice.

Pros: Easy to get started. Brilliant portal layout. Supported by a brilliant phone app.Cons: Oddly not to easy to find and set up scheduled times for WLAN / WiFi access. Minor issue but given the ease of use for all the other options with the device, its odd how the scheduling of the WiFi access point is not as easy. Still a great product and ideally suits for home or light commercial users.

Setup is a Breeze!

Probably overkill for my currently 4 AP wifi mesh home network, but i also used this with the omada vpn router and a poe switch for a quick and seemless install and making the IT folks that i know drop their jaws with the network topography map this gives. I wish the floorplan allowed you to enter a scale and then show wifi AP coverage just for giggles, but what it has is also really cool just to look at if you have a floorplan to upload.

Ports operate at 100 Mbps. For the operation of the device itself, more than enough. works quite stable. used in several deployments with no problems.

It took a while to get set up as I had to shift some Access Points (APs) over from a software-based controller and I had to upgrade some of my APs for them to be compatible with the new controller. Now that it is set up, it is working great. I had problems migrating the APs so I just reset them, then adopted them in the hardware controller based network.Using this product helped me figure out some problems I was having with a few of my APs, I have mapped where the controllers are in the building so I can identify where one is quickly now if it is misbehaving, the APs seem to be working well as a mesh network (automatically picking up the common SSID and password when they join the network), and updates are ... MoreI am very happy with how this product is working for us.
