TP-Link TL-SF1005D V14 5-Port 10/100Mbps Desktop Switch

I found this device very easy to use. There are 5 Ethernet portals and you connect your source cable to any portal and have your "output" cables connected to any of the remaining 4 portals. I had one device that was connected to the source cable. I wanted to connect my laptop via Ethernet as well because WiFi in the location was dismal at best but I was concerned that the laptop might interfere with the original device (a Livestream box). I connected both devices via this Ethernet switch and found that my laptop did not diminish the strength of my broadband connection to the Livestream box at all. Very pleased with the performance of this Ethernet switch.

For less than a tenner this ethernet switch has to rate as a bargain. I ordered it online, collected it one hour later, and 30 minutes after that it was working. It is simply a case of plug everything in and forget. Well pleased with this switch.

I was able to leave computer and printer where I was want them at, which is a different room that the router. plugged the ethernet into that device, and then the printer and computer and still have open ports for future devices. saving me 5e hassle of relocating my home office.

Better that using wifi

Our smart TV kept loosing the signal from the router which is upstairs. Also having the Sky box doing the same I wanted to run a single white cable to the downstairs TV from the upstairs router. But I needed two items taking care of. The best way was to run a single cable and use this Network Switch to make two supplies to the two items. This has solved all the problems of before. Also if I ever need an internet connection for my laptop I just need to plug into this unit. A first class service from this supplier and the job was done.

Compact and easy to hide , Get this Thing

Actually going to use it along with the TP-Power-line Adapters to connect an Android Box , Computer , Smart DVD Player to my Dumb 50" Sceptre TV . It is easier to run one of these facing the back of the entertainment system hiding the cables behind it instead of having wires all over the floor . A Few tie wraps and a surge protector hidden inside the system make it all easier to move around too . Oh yeah the switch works Great !

Doesn't perform as described

Doesn't work like I thought it would, you can only use one port at a time. At least it saves the hassle of switching cords around all the time. And you have to turn it off and back on to switch. But there's actually no switch so you have to unplug it and plug it back in. Pretty annoying but not returning just so we can at least have everything plugged in at once.

Efficient

I ordered this ethernet hub as a replacement for one that would frequently corrupt the modem in connection with a weather station that downloads data from the internet and is always on. I thought it would be less likely to interfere as it uses much less power. It does not overheat; only getting somewhat warm. They have made genuine progress with ethernet hub design. I have not detected any interference up to this juncture. This switch has my sincere endorsement.

Exactly what I needed!! This box works great!!

I got a new smart TV and I was already using all 4 or my Ethernet connections on my router. I was thinking about buying another router with 5 connectors when I came across this for 9.99, so I thought I would give it a try and if it didn't work, I could always return it and buy the other router. All I had to do was connect my router number 1 to this box number 1 and plug it in. It works great. I am glad that I found this switch. I highly recommend this to anyone that needs extra Ethernet connectors. Thanks a lot Walmart for another great item at a great price!!

Powered

I have a fiber connection in my closet, but it has fewer ports than what were installed in home, so I needed a switch. I didn't read description closely to notice that it was powered/required an outlet. Difficult to add in cabinet, had to use an extension and would have purchased a usb connector if noticed earlier. Working fine, pleased with purchase.

Works great, case design needs work

I bought this to replace my 15 year old grandsons hub for Xbox,PS4, computer hub. It has worked flawlessly. However the power plug is located 90 degrees from the cable inputs and activity lights are located on the cable inputs. This makes cable routing awkward and you must be looking at the ports to see the activity lights. If the cables are hanging from the bottom or off the back of a desk, the box must be handled to troubleshoot connections. Over all this is well worth the price and works well. I would recommend it to any one.
