Learn why Tracfone's Motorola moto g power 5G 2024 uses "Power" as its name. I have not had this phone very long, but so far it is performing better than I had expected. Battery life is great, not much lag when using multiple applications at the same time, and camera quality isn't bad for a $100 phone either. It also has wireless charging and screen casting (yes, there are still phone that straight talk has for sale that do not offer either of these options)I also have a Galaxy S21 Ultra and the G Power 5G 2024 has the same amount of RAM (8GB), the same amount of storage (128GB) and the same size battery (5000mAh)

I bought this to replace a moto g that was giving me signs of trouble. I was not able to switch phones at the time too much going on, too many apps/ pw that don't transfer. Finally I did. I'm not in love with this moto g. First when I'm reading something, it is so sensitive that I don't even have to touch the screen and it opens an ad, or looks up the definition of a word. In. Contrast if I'm filling out a form it is so slow if not impossible to get the "okay" "submit" "next" buttons on almost every site to respond to my taps a problem I've never had before. Also I like my apps just so, but the phone just grabs a bunch of related apps and puts them in these micro app boxes so that the apps are organized the phone's way and are so small inside the boxes that I can't ... MoreI bought this to replace a moto g that was giving me signs of trouble. I don't like that. And the only way I've found to get them back on the screen is to just uninstall the box and then I have to check for the apps I want to make sure they are still there. It does all kinds of weird things like that without my premission. And the icons for the apps ugh they are all not what they have been for years so, need the camera-- good luck finding the app because it doesn't look the same anymore and is dark to boot. And the ringer on my phone. I picked the one that say Hello moto in the middle of the noise it makes. Great but when the phone actually rings it doesn't say Hello Moto like the demo it just makes the noise. I miss calls that way. There are so many other annoyances but the pointless apps that I try to suppress, the responsiveness of the touch screen ( oh and auto correct don't get me started grr it has made typing this aggravating) anyway the phone is such an aggravation - Lenovo not everything you've done to the Motorola is a good effective or useful thing. If it's not broken don't fix it should be your guiding thought instead of "hey I've got a good idea" that's what children say to each other before they do something that is not a good idea and with this phone they weren't good ideas. I'm beginning to think why spend a few hundred every three years ( the lifetime of the industrial glue they use to hold the layers together gives out and the phone starts to separate like an accordion the last one was literally pushing the otter cover off of it) on a moto g? Why not spend $$$ for an iPhone? I've replaced the moto this is my fourth one in 10 years. My housemate has had the same iphone with no trouble since before 2018 and it was a hand-me-down phone twice before in the same family. No problems. None. So when this one gives me trouble. I'm thinking what am I buying another moto? I'll just get an iPhone and be done with it. Oh and one last but certainly not all. I'm typing the phone thinks it anticipates what I'm about to say and inserts an emoji instead of the word. Corrects my grammar with the wrong set of words completely changing my meaning, on and on I haven't even gotten all my old passwords and auto fills entered and am still carefully checking the last moto accordion to get those. Carefully hoping against hope it doesn't just quit working while I'm doing that. I've lost pictures, that were supposed to be in the cloud, notes to self, oh I'm sick reminding myself. And below what is "yes /No" clicks about there's no question I can't even read the questions black print on a navy back ground? That's going to Garner you one star for each question I can't see.

It would not connect reliably to my 2023 Honda Accord by USB even to charge. I bought three new cables to see if was a cable quality issue. I did get it to connect somewhat reliably using the charging cable that came with the unit using a usb-a to usb-c adapter, but it failed too many times. I have returned it to Motorola and gone back to my older Moto G Power 2022, which works perfectly on any cable. I tried two other phones as well, and they work perfectly. Too bad. It was a terrific phone otherwise, but I don't go anywhere without Android Auto.

My 2nd Moto G
27 December 2023

My first one was 6 years old. It was still working well but getting slow and the battery wasn't lasting as in the beginning. I decided to replace it with the power 5G. Still learning all the new features along with a more sophisticated operation system. A little larger screen. I like it very much. The camera is a big upgrade from what I had before. My only thing is the battery doesn't last quite as long as the old one did in the beginning. This one goes for 2-3 days and the old one was almost 5. I have to admit the new 5g has a lot more going on than the older one so that could explain why. The price value is there considering you can spend 3 times as much for pretty much for the same functionality.

I'm not sure about the media tech chipset yet when I touch the screen it does not always react the same as my 2022. There are times when a screen closes all by itself. It does function very well into things that it does do. Battery life seems to be less than the 2022 model. But it does last me from morning till night time. Approximately 17 hours of use. Which includes 1 to 3 hours a game playing during the day. It is a great phone and in my opinion the best for the money! The sound is outstanding especially for people who have trouble hearing it is clear and loud with very good adjustment. The screen is clear everything on the screen appears to be Sharp and easy to see. Screen opening and APP loading seems almost instantaneous with no lag at all. If you decide to have photos printer you will not be disappointed. The quality and design of the frame and the phone is excellent and I don't think you'll be sorry if you decide to purchase. I have been a user of Motorola products for years especially their phones going back to their first flip phone and two way walkie talkies and have not been disappointed in their quality.

Since the yr 2000 I've had Motorola, until I decided to buy another brand a year and half ago. I was disappointed in the other phone from the start as it did not live up to the kind of quality I was familiar with in the Motorola products. When handling the Motorola phone, it gives the impression that it is built well, will not malfunction on even the simplest of tasks. The fingerprint sensor reads the finger immediately every time, rather than having to place my finger on the sensor over and over. The speed of processing is great. The ample room of memory is wonderful. The phone comes with many helps (moto functions) that make navigation easy. And I very much appreciate the longer battery life. Therefore I highly recommend it.

Wanted more ram, storage, sharper screen - got all that. But, while battery size is the same, it doesn't hold a charge nearly long. Took hours to figure out how to shut off. Two other annoying quirks can't seem stop a notification about the SD card, although that seems to be set up correctly. And now another constant notification about how it is protecting against apps that want all my info. Other than these, great phone! But really disappointed in the battery performance. Is it the 5g vs 4glte? Is the higher storage capacity? Can't figure it out.

Very good phone for the money
28 December 2023

I've owned this phone for about 3 weeks and I'm happy I bought it. I've found that by turning off 120hz refresh and using it at 60hz, that the battery lasts me 3 days just like my older version did. Battery lasts over 2 days at 120hz. I really like the Moto actions and how the screen allows some functions without unlocking it. The camera is OK for this price range but low light photos are a mixed bag. This is better than the sam*^#g A135G it replaced. I think this is the best phone out there at this price point. Very good value.

For instance, the quick "chop" to turn the flashlight on/off is terrific. And the 3-finger screen capture. While the camera might not be Samsung-level imaging, it seems very satisfactory for my purposes, and also has a lot of features and settings I am getting used to. Plus the camera is SO MUCH better than what I had in my prior LG phone. The top and bottom mics are a smart idea, and the audio quality is really good - much better than I expected. Connects quickly and easily to my Bluetooth devices. I like the biometric scanner built-into the power button, allowing me to quickly un-lock it as I am sliding it out of my pocket. The only "con" I would actually give it at this point is to point out to any prospective buyers that the case looks and feels a little "plastic-y", giving it a kinda "budget" feel... BUT you are going to smartly put a nice protective case on it, hopefully, and that will make that concern moot. In fact I went with the CASE-MATE clear case which has a nice slim fit, seems adequately protective, has the MADE4MOTOROLA branding, and because it is clear it makes the white plastic case now look quite attractive and not plastic-y at all. I also applied a SuperShieldz tempered glass screen protector that has nice touch input/swiping. Also, this is the first time I got an un-locked phone and did my own data transfer, which all went very smoothly with the MOTO instructions & software.I think that covers it. Looking forward to a long happy relationship with the MOTO.Oh, one more thing, I haven't felt the need to change the ring-tone as I get a kick out of it saying "Hello Moto". ;)
