Travel Buddy 12V Marine Oven
This portable, lightweight 12-volt oven can cook, bake, and warm foods while you travel. Simply load the Travel Buddy with pies, pasties, sausage rolls, pizzas, hotdogs, or a pre-prepared meal. Plug it into your car’s cigarette lighter socket, set the timer, and while you're driving or parked, your meal will be heated or cooked to perfection. The Travel Buddy is a sturdy oven that you can take anywhere. Its stainless steel construction makes it both durable and easy to clean. If your vehicle has a socket for a cigarette lighter, there is nowhere the Travel Buddy can't go! The Travel Buddy’s heating temperature reaches approximately 190 degrees Celsius after the initial warm-up, providing consistent and reliable heating for your on-the-go culinary needs. * As this unit draws 10 amps, it's recommended to hardwire it directly to the power supply whenever possible. Travel Buddy has found that the female plugs in some vehicles vary in size. If the fit isn't firm, it can cause the plug to overheat. * The Travel Buddy, like all ovens, will need to be burned in by heating the oven up to full temperature before the first use. This burns off any of the residue left over from manufacturing. This will produce a slight smell so make sure it is carried out in a well-ventilated area.

Since discovering these beauties several years ago I’ve made sure I have one in every vehicle set up I’ve had. Most convenient way to have a proper meal on the go and kids love the pizza and chicken nuggets we cook for them in it on long trips.Best of all these are Australian made.

The 12v travel buddy I own is the second best thing I bought for my 4wd camping setup, the only thing that beats it is my 2 x 135ah lithium batteries that power everything.back to the travel buddy, this unit is absolutely the best, I have made cakes, fish mornay's, Sheppard's pie, vegi bakes and heaps more.It will cook and make the cheese on top of my favorite dish (brown and crispy) so it doesn't just heat meals up, it will cook just like a home oven, only it takes longer (wayyyy longer). It draws a fair bit of power but it is worth it to have that hot meal on a cool evening.Do yourself a favour and grab one, if your not sure about using the 10 amp per hour from this unit (up to 190 degrees), then try it's smaller option that only draws 6 amp per hour (up to ... MoreThe 12v travel buddy I own is the second best thing I bought for my 4wd camping setup, the only thing that beats it is my 2 x 135ah lithium batteries that power everything.back to the travel buddy, this unit is absolutely the best, I have made cakes, fish mornay's, Sheppard's pie, vegi bakes and heaps more.It will cook and make the cheese on top of my favorite dish (brown and crispy) so it doesn't just heat meals up, it will cook just like a home oven, only it takes longer (wayyyy longer). It draws a fair bit of power but it is worth it to have that hot meal on a cool evening.Do yourself a favour and grab one, if your not sure about using the 10 amp per hour from this unit (up to 190 degrees), then try it's smaller option that only draws 6 amp per hour (up to 170 degrees).Enjoy.....

Very disappointed when my oven turned up scratched and with a small dent in it. Is only very minor cosmetic damage which I’m sure I’ll add to but it’s not the point. I was hesitant to complain as I’m not one to winge. My response back was that the damage wouldn’t affect the performance of the product and they would offer me a small amount of money back or an in store voucher. I said keep the money it’s not the point, when you buy something new you expect it to be in perfect condition. I would suggest a little more effort in the packaging department.

Brought one 12 months ago from tent world at Brendale to put in my truck, and all I can really say is...... it is sooooooo sweeeet. 100% LOVE this oven. With aluminium bbq trays from Bunnings & oven bags I can reheat soup while driving.. freeze toast then reheat..... we even take it camping. It has one small fault, the power plug did not last long. So I just replaced it and all good. 110% recommend this oven
My partner is a truck driver, and he has found this to be fantastic! He can now cook and reheat meals on the road. The oven simply plugs into to your cigarette lighter and you turn it on and it heats up. It even has a timer. The outside remains cool enough to have it sitting on the floor of the truck, or on top of the fridge.(He will eventually mount it up in the bunk). He has cooked all sorts of delicious meals and snacks; including lovely damper, bread, pizza, toasted sangas, and baked goodies. Its also fantastic for heating, and can warm up a pie from frozen to hot in just over an hour.I'd highly recommend one to any truckie. We love our Travel Buddy 12v Marine Oven. Only been installed for a month and produced some spectacular meals while on the road and camped up, using 120Ah Deep Cycle Battery, supported by 320w solar on roof of canopy. However, I am considering the need for voltage step up to improve productivity while caped up. Also looking to include insulated door with latch.Wife was negative to the Travel Buddy concept, but after several scrumptious, no fuss Travel Buddy meals she is a convert and the unofficial Campground sales and marketing expert for Travel Buddy Ovens.
We try to buy Australian where we can and “Buddy” is a great addition to our Jackson’s slide on camper. We’ve used it on two trips now, roast beef, roast lamb, set the temp, set the timer and it cooks while we drive, brilliant! It is one of the best camping investments we’ve made.
Bought in early December, received in april due to high demand and was told of the delay as soon as they knew. Everyone after that would of bought it as backorder and delayed, as the site was updated accordingly, don't know why the above customer has an issue. Other shops had them in stock for more because they knew there was no stock, so either wait and save money on the cheaper snowys price or buy it elsewhere for more. First use was a slow 4 hour road trip slow roast beef ribs from coles. Meat absolutely fell apart with our forks. Have used it many times since from heating pizza pockets, Brazilian cheese puffs and lasagne. Biggest issue is having good food aroma lingering for days after making you starve whilst doing errands. Buy local and support the original as there's now another brand which is an exact copy. Great quality as soon as you open up the box. Huge thank you to snowys for great customer service throughout the whole process will definitely be buying more things from you guys in the future.
Awesome oven. Takes alot longer to warm up than a conventional oven. Given that it's 12v that's expected. I believe that to be a good thing as slower cooked to be better. The mounting bracket can only be mounted down not ceiling mounted and the door could use some insulation.
WOW An Awesome 12v Oven That Adds More Options To The Menu Pf The Gypsies Of VagabondWe are using this oven running off 2 x 100AH AGM Batteries in a stationary Black Patron Camper Trailer, with a 300 watt solar panel with 20 amp regulator and when required (cloudy day, etc) have on the 240v trickler/ac charger (just in case), We had to use a 3 meter twin sheath 6B&S cable containing a quality anderson plug, 30 amp fuse and battery lugs. The shorter the cable the better the performance. We also purchased three stainless steel oven trays 1 x 80mm high and 2 x 40mm high from Rory and Lauren Somerville - Somerville MetalWorks - 0479 108673 - ABN 26858780691 for $132.65 delivered to Mittagong NSW from Pakenham Victoria. These trays are excellent quality/workmanship with a great finish. You have to have lots of patience using this 12v oven because you have to move food from back to front and top to bottom and turn over where possible and cam take anywhere between 1.5 hrs and 3 hrs to make cakes, biscuits, pies, baked potatoes or veges, crispy or not, stews, roasts, casseroles, etc. Once we upgrade our batteries to lithium 200+AH batteries and put in a battery management system + 3000w inverter, 40 amp to 60 amp dc to dc charger and trickler/ac charger, the performance on this 12v oven should improve. We are still experimenting. We first started using a basic 3 meter cable with anderson, fuse and lugs but the oven wasn't working well, took a king time to warm up and didn't get hot enough. So we upgraded the cable to the one mentioned near the beginning of this review and the oven now works so much better and heats up much faster to 200F. We will post another review in the next month or so once we have experienced what this new 6B&S cable is delivering to this 12v oven. Also, if you need to find someone who can make you high quality 12v cables contact Big Al - he is in Mount Gambier South Australia. Big Al's Import and Trading ABN 85 609 236 776. His 12v connectors, cables, etc, are the best you can get, top of the range and his prices are very good too (fair).
