The leather of the Traveler's Notebook is made in a factory in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and becomes more beautiful with age. Every scratch tells something about the journey, and the total surface of the leather cover tells the story of the owner. The Traveler's Notebook refills are made of Midori's original diary paper, developed especially for the best writing comfort possible. The paper is fountain pen friendly and carefully crafted in Japan. Because of the simple design of the leather Traveler's Notebook you can personalize it with the 24 different refills available for the Regular size. In 2006, Midori developed the idea of Traveler’s notebook. Ten years later marks its anniversary and the foundation of Traveler’s Company, a new umbrella company next to Midori that holds the Midori stationery and related to Traveler’s notebook.

Nothing satisfies like soft brown leather. The grade of leather could best be described as a "nubuck" type based on its rustic appearance, unvarnished, and velvety feel, the suede-like interior surface, natural grain exterior, and susceptibility to staining. This journal cover is basically a 25 x 22 cm rectangle of leather folded in half with a few incisions for the elastic bands. The "Travelers" brand name and "made in Thailand" are unobtrusively stamped on the back cover. The back cover also has a small hole punched in the middle for use with the closure elastic. Tie a knot in the elastic, feed the loop thru the small hole, and wrap the elastic around the journal to hold it closed. This, however means the knot is inside the back cover and can interfere with ... MoreNothing satisfies like soft brown leather. This, however means the knot is inside the back cover and can interfere with keeping a flat writing surface. For this reason I re-tied my closure elastics to use like a rubber band around the journal ignoring the punch hole. My new journal cover came with two extra elastics. The price, although not inexpensive, is consistent with other leather products of similar size and quality. The A5 "slim" size is probably too small for business purposes but it's perfect for its intended use as a portable personal journal. I love my leather journal cover more every time I look at it. I like the variety of ingeniously simple and practical accessories and paper refills too.

The feel and smell of the leather cover is wonderful. Sometimes I pick mine up just to touch the leather. The appealing part of the Traveler's Notebook is deciding what you need and building up the notebook to suit your personality. I have 3 inserts, plain paper, a grid paper and a weekly planner. I also have the kraft paper folder and a small suitcase charm on the elastic band. I have the pen holder and the Traveler's fountain pen attached at the side. It encourages you to take it along and write in it all the time!

Amazing little notebook and an unbelievable value for what you get. The leather has a very premium feel to it and isn't thin by any stretch, I don't have any calipers on hand to give a definite measurement but I can tell you the leather is thicker than the front board of most hardcover novels. The string they include to act as a bookmark is very nice touch compared to "ribbon" type that some journal manufacturers use. Overall impression is that it's a solid addition to anyone's portable writing kit that will last a long time with some basic preventative maintenance, upon receiving mine I immediately rubbed it down with Leather Honey (externally, not page side) to condition the leather and help ensure it's longevity.

I could not go anywhere else to by my travelers company notebook covers. Goulet is my go to for the ultimate quality and consistency. I have bought the covers from other reputable places and never been happy as I am with the covers from Goulet. The camel cover is substantial and soft. The journal system works for me so I’ll be back to purchase a brown one. Thank you always for your care!
Beautiful as I hopedNot the dupes you get off AmazonI knew if I wanted the real quality I had to buy from Goulet. I don't even trust Jet Pens anymore. Their quality is questionable and their prices are ridiculous. And Goulet Pens has never disappointed! Beautiful Travelers notebook and fast shipping.
I purchased this notebook system as a part of my first experiences in two areas: Bullet Journaling, and Fountain Pens. In short, I am VERY pleased with this notebook and its inserts and I will hopefully be using it for years to come!Being left-handed I had to figure out a few things if I wanted to use fountain pens in a daily journal system and thanks to the resources at Goulet Pens I have landed on a solid system that meets my needs. My first and only fountain pen is the Platinum Preppy with an extra fine nib filled with the Noodler's Bernanke black ink. That setup with the paper in the Traveler's notebook system has been a fast-drying and easy to use setup. The paper is high quality and has no bleed-through making my notes easy to read when written on the front ... MoreI purchased this notebook system as a part of my first experiences in two areas: Bullet Journaling, and Fountain Pens. My first and only fountain pen is the Platinum Preppy with an extra fine nib filled with the Noodler's Bernanke black ink. That setup with the paper in the Traveler's notebook system has been a fast-drying and easy to use setup. The paper is high quality and has no bleed-through making my notes easy to read when written on the front and back of the grid notebooks which are the same thickness as their lined and unlined as far as I can tell. The ink and nib I use feather a small amount but I think that has to do with the quick-drying ink I’m using from Noodlers more than the paper specifications. My only comparison, however, is to a Moleskin notebook and it is vastly better quality than that paper.I was truly drawn to the Traveler's notebook system with its inserts and the ability to have multiple notebooks in it at the same time. Additionally, the extra inserts and hack-systems people use have made it a really useful system for me to keep track of multiple areas of life simultaneously and carry all of the necessary tools with me.The cover is such a nice color, texture, and yes, even scent. It's as genuine as it gets and it's thicker than I thought it would be. While it's not as rigid as the typical hard-bound notebooks are that I've been using to it has not limited my ability to write in it while seated without any additional support.I was a little hesitant with the price at first but I plan on using this for many years and now understanding the quality I could not be happier with it.
This notebook is the bomb. I can’t believe how much I enjoy writing in it. The leather is so soft and supple, I’ve never felt anything like it. It’s halfway between suede and polished leather. The size is perfect for writing during a sermon because it sits right in my Bible. I love the fact that you can put in several notebooks, each one with a different topic. I have one for Home Depot, one for journaling, and one for sermons. Love it love it love it
Absolutely love it. Use it as a work diary and have another insert for anything I want to note down, be it personal or work. I bought the passport sized one to see if I would use it enough and found it to be a little small for my needs, but used it all the time, so have done what I should have done first and bought the full size one. The Midori paper is a nice thickness so I'm not limited to ball point pens like I seemed to be when I used a Moleskine daily journal.
I've owned so many notebooks in my life that I lost count (and many of them). I've bought them all around the world. None matched the quality of this product, which is as excellent as the superb Midori paper it encloses. Soft leather with supreme texture and smell. Holds three notebooks with ease.
Amazing, wanted something customizable and flexible and found this in my research. The packaging is fun, it has a great look and feel, and the color is fantastic, not to mention the smell.Filled with all my favorite styles of paper, which all hold up to fountain pen ink and a good dark rollerball. I got a pocket for small loose items and a pen holder and it all looks great, so fun to use and write in.
