I bought this bag before my first international trip to China and LOVED it. It fit great under United Airlines seats and made it easy to access my important stuff while on a long flight. I highly recommend this bag, I’m sure it would be great for a quick weekend trip too as it is very roomy for its size. The only problem I have is that the velcro strap that is used to attach the bag to a carryon handle has become stretched out after its first trip and it doesn’t stay on as straight anymore. I also packed the bag full so I’m assuming part of the issue was the weight.

So I bought this piece of luggage in April, 2024, and am using it for the first time. It fits very well under the seats. I just wish it had two zippered ends instead of just one, or even a mesh pocket would have been helpful to hold my water bottle. The issue I have is with the Maxlite 5 Compact Carry-on Spinner I purchased with it. When I placed this on top of my spinner bag, it became very topsy turvy. It had tripped me up a couple of times and fell over 3 times during my travels. This was very frustrating. Obviously this bag is not made for the smaller spinner bag. Ugh.

I have been satisfied with previous orders but not this time. I ordered a Crew™ VersaPack™ Carry-On Deluxe Tote Bag on 1/8/2024 and it was listed as available at that time. On 1/9/2024 I received an E-mail the my order was out of stock and was cancelled and I would be issued a refund. I was also told that their restocking order for January had been cancelled and they did not know when they would receive more. On about 1/15/2024 I ordered the next best choice which was the Maxlite® 5 Soft Tote in black. I had just thought the the Crew™ VersaPack™ Carry-On Deluxe Tote Bag would be a little more durable. It was no more the a few days later that I checked and it appears that the Crew™ VersaPack™ Carry-On Deluxe Tote Bag is now in stock. If I had known that I could have ... I love my tote, my husband has one. Used it as a personal item, fits under the seat perfectly. I always used a back pack, he always had more room than I, plus easier access during the flight, the top opens and gives you easy access and holds a surprisingly amount of things. The 2 pockets in front are perfect for documents and the little things you are always reaching for. I'm done with the backpack! Done with the bulky struggle of getting the backpack out from the seat in front of me. Thank you Travelpro, next up will be buying the carry on. I'm also done with the weight of the Beis suitcase I own.!!
I used my maxlite soft tote for the first time last week. I love the u shape opening. It makes seeing and collecting items easier. It is surprisingly lightweight and roomy. I was able to carry my iPad, kindle, knitting, blanket and travel case of cords with plenty of room left over for purchased snacks and water at the airport. The tote fit perfectly under seat and in overhead bin. The zippers are a bit finicky, reason for only 4 stars, but not a deal breaker. I would recommend.
A little taller than I would have liked, as it was hard to fit under the seat in front of me on the plane. But I also liked how much I could put in it due to the height. I was able to put the TSA liquid bag, my toiletry bag, a small purse, and a couple of shirts in the interior space. The two exterior pockets are handy. The smaller one I used for our passports and my cell phone. That is all that can fit in that pocket. The larger exterior pocket I used for my iPad and wallet for quick access at the airport. That is all that can fit in that pocket. The end pocket I placed my Kindle and other items I wanted during the flight.I would like a non-expandable exterior pocket on the other side for papers.
We have Travelpro suitcases that we bought approximately 10 years ago. They have held up very well. On our last trip to Europe we did the usual thing by bringing a tote & back pack which we would put on top of our suitcases. We were frustrated by the way they continually fall off to the side. We came home and made the decision to purchase a tote that will fit under the seat on the airplane as well as be stable on the suitcase handle. These are FANTASTIC! No more frustration and they help maximizing our carry on items.
I wish this bag was slightly more structured so it wouldn’t be as easy to “stuff” it with more items or that even carefully placed items (not over stuffing) would still make the bag a little chubbier than the 8” width limit. Just from carrying the bag. I also wish this item had a key leash—badly. I’m considering making one and sewing it in myself as this is really something necessary for a personal item bag if you drive yourself to the airport. For the price point I guess this was an ok spend but tbh this is definitely my least favorite Travel Pro purchase.
Recently, on my first travels by air in a very long time, I ran across an issue. The airlines were being picky about my carryon bag. I had an older larger bag that was hard to fit places. The bag was also harder to handle. I realized instead of one large bag I needed two easier to handle smaller bags. This small tote, paired with the International spinner makes the perfect combination.
I haven’t officially traveled with this tote, yet, but I am so pleased with it already! This is the *perfect* size to meet the regulations on our upcoming international flight for under the seat bags. This bag has SO MUCH ROOM in it I am going to easily be able to fit everything I need in here. It features plenty of extra pockets on the outside of the bag - 1 on each side and two in front - plus it fits so nicely onto the handle of our Maxlite Medium checked or our Maxlite® 5 Carry-On Rolling Underseat Bags. Highly recommended for anyone travelling by plane!
