This truck was rated for intermediate experience but right out of the box with no practice in The Last 5 Years I found this truck is simple, easy to run, fast, goes anywhere, yes it's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, I bought another upgraded truck of the same model and outside of the upgrades I can barely tell a difference. Yes stock parts may break with hard use, buy the upgraded parts, RPM etc, and you are garanteed hours of family fun. Highly recommend the slash, but get two. My daughters boyfriend got me hooked and have tons of fun racing. Start with the Li-Po Batts and get the fan for the speed controller, you won't be sorry with the extended speed and runtimes.

I had the larger Traxxas Nitro mini monster truck back in the late 90's. It was pretty SICK! I installed oil filled upgraded shocks and all was good. The problem(s) I had with that truck was that being Nitro it got sticky and parts gummed up from the residue. It needed maintenance (love) after every time it went out to the track, and it wasn't all that reliable with having to use glow plug battery starter - what ever it was - long time ago - I kinda forget/PITA. This elect. car is soo much more easy to maintain though! It's about as fast (+-35mph), maybe a little more. It's quieter, and no messy clean up and no dangerous flameable issues with Nitro. Cars are in pretty good shape overall was described well couple little things missed but that's the nature of the hobby. All in all great purchase very pleased.

Pros: An absolutely fantastic RC 4x4 truck..Well made & designed with loads of spares & hop-up parts available..Seriously fast on 3S Li-Po batteries but can be “turned down” on the ESC when I let my partner have a blast..Cons: The wheels hit the body shell on full compression causing the paint to scuff & burn.. Shocks are too soft as standard but can be upgraded or use heavier weight oil in them & all the spring spacers provided.
Junk, absolutely junk. Missing pieces, had to buy a battery + charger + clips to hold the body on. Ive spent 2 times the amount this cost to get it together for my son to see a relay is bad and it will only go in reverse. It wont let me leave anything but positive. Dont do it.
So I had been looking at getting one for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I DO NOT regret it at all. This is one of the fastest 4x4 Ive played with. Actually had to lower the power setting to 50% for the kids to drive it. A+++++ Plan on buying a second one soon.
Just added this to my collection and I was throughly impressed. The speed and the handling are outstanding. I even upgraded to the higher rated battery and was top notch. If you're interested in getting 1 of these I would highly recommend it. GREAT FUN 👍
Hey all hope you are safe and well out there. Added a second Slash to the team while putting my 2 Rustlers up on ebay. In my opinion you have to go 4x4 and the Slash brushless is the perfect starting point. They are fast, durable, versatile, and responsive. We do more off than on-road so adding the Proline 117012 trencher tires is our first upgrade along with LIPO batteries. If you plan on bashing even a little bit be sure to have spare TRA6852X and TRA6851X driveshafts on hand (6451 and 6452 steel versions if you really go hard with jumps). Pick up a couple of Traxxas 5119 Ball Bearings since you may lose them when you lose the driveshafts. In summary - get out there safely - have some fun and make some memories with one of the best RC 1/10 4X4s available today.
The 3S brushless Slash 4x is an absolute beast!! It’s basically a rocket on wheels!!My experience with RC Superstore was excellent, timely delivery and very helpful with any questions I might have had.Would I recommend this product?? Without a doubt!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well designed and reasonably durable out of the box, however plenty of upgrade parts available if you want to make it even better! Would recommend getting an aftermarket dust cover to reduce the build up of gravel and other debris around the motor parts etc. You cant stop every bit of dirt but it does help keep the bulk of it out. The controller is good but you really need to get the wireless link adapter to get the most out of it, pity it was not included in the first place. Happy with the model and would recommend the brand.
