I've only had my boat out once but exceeds my expectations! Very beautiful and very fast!

Purchased this boat three weeks ago and I’ve taken it out to the lake twice. So far I love it. BOAT IS FAST! It corners great at speed, but turns TERRIBLE at low speeds. But then again it’s a speed boat, so I would expect that. I’ve run 2x2s lipos and 2x3s lipos. It is a BEAST on 3s. Great boat for intermediate or advanced RC users.

Love the boat very fast if you can keep it in the water. Ordered 2 sets of trim tabs, new spin fins and replacing the rudder with one from M-41 catamaran that is longer. Should be ready for the water by the weekend..

Great product! Super fast and no issues
Pros: Very efficientCons: No
I've gone through (3) $70 boats lol over the last few years and wanted something that I could repair if a part broke. Reviews on the spartan on RC forums were hot and cold. I took a gamble and ordered some upgrade parts right away. The stock waterjacket for the motor is garbage and the boat will have cooling issues on 6s. I put on a dual pickup rudder and new water jacket from Hot Racing. Added weatherstripping to the opening / hatch. The boat is plenty fast for me and my boys on 4s. When I run it on 6s, its wicked fast. It's hard to run unless the water is relatively smooth. I'm not sure how the boat compared to other hobby boats, but I'm very happy with my purchase.
I hope the picture you have with this review is NOT the boat you sent me. That's not the design on the ad I purchased.
This thing is a blast to drive. I installed the GPS Telemetry Module and with the 2 cell LIPO batteries it says 39 mph so I'm going to order the 3 cell LIPO's just see what it will do. The first time I put it in the water I drew a pretty big crowd of people everybody asking questions and wanting to watch. It is super fun has really good range. Rough water does shake the batteries loose so have to keep checking the straps on them and make sure they are tight other than that it's a great machine. A smaller body of water probably would be smoother but I'm in northern MN and use Rainy Lake which is pretty large with a lot of traffic so waves and wind do make for rougher water but results will differ from lake to lake. I just wanted to add that so everybody reading this ... MoreThis thing is a blast to drive. I just wanted to add that so everybody reading this understands that not every situation is the same. Also with the 2869x 2 cell 7600 mah packs I'm getting about 40 minutes of run time. As always from Rc superstore fast shipping. Keep up the great work guy's.
RC Superstore was great it had almost all the upgrades I needed to make this Spartan better than stock. I did prefer the other color but it was out of stock but the color I bought is totally looking awesome with all the upgrades on it. RC Superstore is definitely the place for all your Traxxas need for some speed action.
This thing rips, it accelerates hard and turns even harder. Parts are cheap and easy to get, this came in handy for me when I didn’t read the owner’s manual and didn’t realize the motor needs to have some light oil dropped on the bearings.
