Recommend you target this type of hybrid bike and the e-bikes to more senior riders. I see many more riding now that gyms, golf courses and tennis courts are closed. All of Trek's web pages and advertising seem geared to young populations, which I understand. However, I feel you are missing a significant portion of likely customers who can afford premium bikes by also not targeting senior riders. Had it not been for my son who is an avid mountain biker in New England, I would likely not have considered this model Trek. Thanks for designing such a great bike.

This is my first bike in many, many years. I searched far and wide at various brands and styles, but ultimately ended up on the FX1 one because of the reviews, color, disc brakes, and the biggest selling point was free shipping and set up by my local bike shop. Being a renewed bike owner, I didn't want to mess anything up during assembly. The guys at MOAB bike shop in East Nashville were great, highly recommend if you are in the area! I have taken my bike on several journeys around Shelby Bottoms and have had no issues thus far. I was not expecting to get a bright yellow (Volt) bike - and actually searched matte black - but after seeing this color I was sold. It is also very light and easy to lift onto the bike rack. I recommend TREK and the FX1!

After having full knee replacements resulting in somewhat limited bending, I find this model easy to get on and off. The gears are very smooth.Brakes good. Bike is lighter (26 lbs) that my old one. Glides very, very well. Bike is set up for accessories such as rear rack, kickstand, odometer. Has good quality and lifetime warranty. I changed the seat for more comfort.Service Rep (Robert) at Bushtaks -Richmond Road, Ottawa, was outstanding.

I hadn't ridden a bike since high school but was looking for a way to get cardio in during this pandemic. Running was no longer an option as my shin splints were becoming chronic. My boyfriend has a road bike and is an avid cyclist so I needed something to begin on but also be able to (kind of) keep up with him. The Trek FX1 is perfect for that! We ride paved bike trails and on the road with no issues. In addition, I can ride this bike to the coffee shop as well.
Recent purchase, shout out to Jax Bicycle Shop Murrieta CA. and Joseph in particular. I am very pleased with the bike, my first as an adult. I feel very confidant in the saddle, i'm getting comfortable with the gears, i live in a subdivision on a hill, so lots of incline but it is smoother for me each time out. Highly recommended. I will re-post after I've taken a longer ride.
I bought this bike when my teenager suggested we take some longer rides together (she had adopted my old Raleigh hybrid and was loving it). I admit this bike was more money than I wanted to spend, but it has been worth every penny and according to Trek's reputation, will last me a lifetime. My favorite thing about it so far is how well it handles on the road, and how it is to lift and carry -- something I need to do to manage the semi-urban trails we ride on. The feel of the bike is solid and smooth on the path, even long uphills are a relative breeze with the gears. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment with this bike.
Bought this bike a few months ago. Can't say enough good things about it. Comfortable ride. Well made. Versatile. This is my second Trek bike. Although I really enjoyed the first one, a different model, I never could get it to "fit me." Had the pro fit, kept readjusting the seat/handlebars, but it just didn't work. When I moved, I (sadly and reluctantly) gave it away. Got this model as a replacement. It fits perfectly. Couldn't ask for a better bike. So, if you happen to get a bike that doesn't "fit" you, keep trying. Trek is a quality-but-affordable brand! Recommend the bike and the brand.
I have not been biking for years. After doing some research and seeing great reviews on this bike, I went to my local bike shop to try it out. They properly fitted me to the right size. I've only had this bike a couple weeks and absolutely love it! I got the Volt color which is a fun, bright yellow. I love the color! This is a very comfortable and smooth ride. It's a very lightweight bike but can still ride over small bumps in the road. So glad I chose this bike. Thank you!
I workout 5-6 times a week. When gyms closed due to the corona virus pandemic, biking seemed like a great way to stay fit while social distancing. My existing Trek bike was nearly 20 years old and needed some work. I decided to treat myself to a new Trek. Best decision I could have made! Since I purchased it, I've been biking between 50-60 miles a week. Smooth ride, great balance, shifts smooth as silk, responsive braking. I absolutely love my new Trek! It is saving my sanity and keeping me fit!
i love the look and ride of my bike. as a new rider, i am still getting used the bike and it's gait and my positioning, but i think it is a sturdy, wonderful bike for multiple terrains -- and for exercise as well as recreation. it is bright, and so i don't worry about being seen on the city streets by parked or moving cars. it is unique with it's disc brakes, which feel like they can stop at any moment in any weather. and overall, i find this bike has given me a newfound freedom, during quarantine and beyond. i LOVE the step through and the look and feel of the whole bike. though i know it is a little heavier than some of my friends' city-type bikes, i believe that adds to it's sturdiness and ability to be used on other kinds of trails as well. i love my fx 1 ... Morei love the look and ride of my bike. as a new rider, i am still getting used the bike and it's gait and my positioning, but i think it is a sturdy, wonderful bike for multiple terrains -- and for exercise as well as recreation. it is bright, and so i don't worry about being seen on the city streets by parked or moving cars. it is unique with it's disc brakes, which feel like they can stop at any moment in any weather. and overall, i find this bike has given me a newfound freedom, during quarantine and beyond. i LOVE the step through and the look and feel of the whole bike. though i know it is a little heavier than some of my friends' city-type bikes, i believe that adds to it's sturdiness and ability to be used on other kinds of trails as well. i love my fx 1 stagger disc volt green bike so so much!
