Didn't like the tan side walls, so swapped them onto some race Pirellis that are much faster and look better. Really fast bike.

Went from mountain biking to road riding recently. Now thoroughly addicted. Gen 8 madone is very comfortable and compliant especially after a bike fit. Shimano di2 fantastic fast and crisp.

I got this bike as a frame warranty replacement for my Gen 6 Madone. I was a little hesitant at first as I had chosen the Gen 6 as I wanted a pure aero bike and I wasn't sure how this would compare. I didn't see many reviews from more ordinary riders so I crossed my fingers that I would be happy with this bike. Bottom line is I'm sold! Bike weighed in about 1.6lbs lighter than my Gen 6 SL7 (with cages, mounts, pedals). The bike feels much snappier and more responsive (when I put the power down it responds much more quickly than the Gen 6). I haven't noticed a difference once you are at speed (it carries speed just as well as the Gen 6 from what I can tell). The biggest change is the comfort! Same wheels and tires but this thing is noticeably more compliant (and I ... MoreI got this bike as a frame warranty replacement for my Gen 6 Madone. Same wheels and tires but this thing is noticeably more compliant (and I had the Gen 6 at the softest isospeed setting). The bike is a looker and I get compliments every time I take it out to a club ride. One thing to be aware of is the sizing. I was on a 54 with the Gen 6 and took a medium here. I swapped out the stem for a 100mm to keep my reach the same to the hoods on my bars (my old bars had a longer reach than the new ones). I also swapped out the seatpost for the longer one (with my last Madone I lost a few mm over my previous setup and I accepted that as I didn't want to spend $360 for a new seatpost). This one looked like I would have had to give up a few more mm on top of that so the long post was the way to go (I am a 31 inseam so right in the middle of the recommended range). The rest of the bike fits me like a glove. It's a fun bike to ride and I can't wait to get the RSL bottles and cages to add to the mix
I am really enjoying the new ride and because it does everything so well I look forward to riding more. It is comfortable, fast, precise and a work of art. Oh and did I say fast, the harder I pedal the faster it goes.
What a bike. I have been thoroughly impressed with my new Madone. The fit and finish are top notch, and the dark star colorway looks like a proper paint job for a bike of this caliber. I am extremely comfortable on long rides and provides so much speed at the same time.
After a test ride,I traded my Gen 6 Madone SL7 Gen 6 then my Gen 3 Domane SL6.The Gen 8 Madone is a compliant race machine. I Love it!!! Issues: bottle cage screws on both bikes must have been glued.
Bought the SL 7 Black from Trek Warrawong in July 24. Already have a Domane SL6.The SL7 is easy to ride, handles well and is the perfect setup. The difference between the two bikes is quite stark.I live the new Madone.
