Trek Solstice MIPS Bike Helmet Crystal White / M/L

Good adjustable fit (by 'hand wheel' at back of head).Chin straps need adusting fairly frequently (too early to judge).Distance of helmet 'cap' from scalp suggests safer impact thansome (but I am not an expert).

Comfortable MIPS helmet

I actually returned the helmet i ordered on line as it was too small even though my head circumference suggested it should be the right size. Very prompt refund thank you. Then i visited my local bike shop and tried on the larger size (even though my head is right at the bottom of the size guide) and it is a perfect fit. I guess this is something to do with my head shape (rather round). Anyway now very happy with my Trek Solstice helmet. Straps a tad long!

Comfortable helmet with new safe technology

Great helmet. New mips technology makes it feel much safer. Very comfortable as well. Red color is punchy.

Fits well, excellent price for MIPS

Excellent service--came on the day it was expected. I love the green/blue color. Fits well right out of the box. I've wanted a MIPS helmet for several years and finally found on I could afford.

Good but SMALL!

I have a smallish head, 22", in the range of this helmet's S/M size but it was way too small. Sat high up on my head. Ended up giving it to my seven year old daughter. Box is labeled Adult/Youth. Both?

Great helmet but I was disappointed

Great helmet but I was disappointed that the chinstrap did not have magnetic buckle. The former Solstice helmet by Bontrager did have a magnetic buckle and the instructions for this helmet by Trek describes a magnetic buckle. But unfortunately it doesn't have a magnetic buckle.

I have unfortunately crashed in this helmet - my thoughts

Hi all,I have unfortunately crashed in this helmet. Cut a long story short, my chain snapped foot hit the floor and my head took best part of a two meter drop on to tarmac. This helmet held up really well. Other than some sore body parts A&E were surprised i didn't have more concussion. after the accident! I will be replacing the helmet with another and wont ride without MIPS again! I crashed in others without and it makes a huge difference. I've included a pic for reference

Not bad for a helmet

My wife has an old red headwinds helmet that she will wear almost every ride. It fit her terribly, always tipped back with straps so loose you can put it on and take it off without undoing the buckle. Her parents always make mention how terrible the fit is and sometimes she will fix it. I have a skid lid (4 prong from the 80’s) that offers no protection that i will wear if my wife requests me wear a helmet). A few weeks ago i was going for a ride and my wife asked if i would wear her helmet so i would be safe. For some reason i said yes. As I attempted to put it on I realized the straps were not in the buckle right and fixed them so the straps would stay tight. I also noticed it was a bit big on my head. When i got home and took the helmet off I realized it was cracked pretty bad. My wife was glad i had it on but unhappy her favorite helmet was done. She said she liked her Red helmet and could not find a similar one in red. I looked for awhile and and found the solstice in gloss red and got it for her. She loves it and now wants me to get a helmet as well.

Previous version saved my life

The previous version of this helmet saved my life. Hit by a car while cycling and was thrown off the bike, head first into the pavement. If not for the Solstice helmet, I wouldn't be here. The MIPS did its job and the BOA adjuster kept the helmet secured tightly to my head. I wouldn't use any other brand of helmets. Trek and Bontrager stood by their product and I'm so grateful for all the research and development they put into making quality helmets. I hope that my helmet was put to good use and used for research into any possible ways to improve the safety even further.

not a great fit.

This appeared to be a great value MIPS helmet.I tried on the non-mips Solstice, at my local shop as they didnt have a MIPS version and the fit was OK, but this MIPS helmet does not fit as well and I often finish a ride with a sore Neck.Its a shames as i really like the bright yellow-blluw colou and wanted a TREK helmet for their support.
