Believe it or not I use this for myself. I originally purchased for my dogs and its fantastic on them. I hVe had major issues finding a hair product that I love for myself. I have constant dry itchy scalp, tiny amount of dandruff every now and then but just incredibly dry and itchy. I know its mostly the Southern Cali air bcuz when I have gone to Hawaii or the Philippines my scalp is fine. I noticed on the bottle that it says "for humans to." Took a look at the ingredient list and I can read and understand every one!!! Which is rare. So i decided that was what I was looking for, ingredients that I felt comfortable with! I actually love it. It feels nourishing without weighing my hair down.

I have used almost the entire bottle now, and I still do not see any difference between when I use the TropiClean conditioner or when I skip it. This conditioner does not make my toy poodle's coat any softer or shinier. And unless you enjoy the smell of coconut, do not even contemplate buying it. The smell of coconut is overwhelming. Do not bother buying this product. It will do nothing for your pet's coat.

However, it is difficult to completely rinse out of our Persian's fur, likely because we have soft water. I ended up having to re-shampoo her and follow with our usual apple cider vinegar rinse, with a final rinse of clear water. I found that her fur was "sticky", for lack of a better term, as the comb would not glide through her fur as it usually does. Also, she kept licking her ruff to the point of it staying wet. I think it may have been the smell and her desire to get it off of her. So for us, it's a no-go. But for me...well...this is pretty darn good conditioner. Clean ingredients, and since my hair is not like the cottony fur our Emmy Lou Hairiest has, it rinses clean. Overall, good conditioner. It just didn't work for our Persian girl.
I really like this conditioner for my dogs and will continue to purchase it. It helps prevent my long-haired Border Collie from getting mats in his fur, softens their fur and moisturizes their skin. I also am happy with the smell. The smell is nice for us humans, but not overly powerful where it may irritate a dog's nose. Whenever my dogs get wet a week or two after their bath, you can still smell the lovely cocoa butter scent.I am happy with the quality.
This conditioner paired with the lime and coconut shampoo has been my absolute favorite for a good deep clean. They left my dog's coat feeling soft and smooth, and she smelled great. Sometimes the seasonal shampoos at the grooming salon would make her itchy, but she never had a bad reaction from any Tropiclean product. I started taking these in with me and having the groomer use them instead. Highly recommended!
I had gotten my dog groomed a few months ago, and the thing that stuck with me was that he was super extra silky afterward. So I decided to find a conditioner that could fit this bill. After using this 3 times, this one does nothing for him except make him a little greasier, and the same softness as not using the conditioner at all. Its light fragrance smells fine, and maybe the formula works for coarser types of fur but wasn't helpful on my Shih Tzu's fur. I'll keep using it because why not...but it wasn't what I hoped it would be.
I bought this and the shampoo for my dogs. I dry them with a microfiber towel but I do not fluff them so hair doesn't dry all flyaway. But this makes their even worse. I have hair fly all over the place that seems very dry. My dogs are under 2 yrs, short hair and normally silky soft coats. Not the case with this product.
I usually never fall in love with a product enough to write reviews. However I have to say that this product is well worth the time. This is a must when your pup has a long coat. After adding this conditioner to my Sheltie's bath routine, it left his coat so silky and soft. It's never felt this good before. Not to mention it smells wonderful and the scent stays for a good time. However it does smell more like coconut than kiwi, which to me isn't a problem at all. It's been 2 weeks since I've washed him with this conditioner, and he still smells like a sweet macaroon cookie after every hug.
This is a great conditioner. It didn't take much to properly condition my older Shih Tzu. She was so soft, shiny and smelling good after she was dry. She seemed to like it, too.
