It is a nice compact prime lens at a good value. Photos look sharp at F/5.6. There is a bit of softness lower down the aperture, but nothing that would ruin a photo. The lens does have some noticeable vignetting but nothing that can't easily be corrected in RAW. The vignetting does look nice on the JPEGs so may not be an issue for some.I find the lens slow to focus compared to Fuji's 23mm/F2 and the aperture adjustment is annoyingly noisy. It also doesn't have weather sealing so do keep that in mind. I do recommend doing the firmware update because the firmware that the lens came with was going crazy with aperture adjustments that where super annoying until I updated to version 1.1.0 (was using on a X-T5).Also... While I know this is not a macro lens, it really does struggle to focus on just 2 feet away. and wont focus on anything closer that 1.25 feet.Also... The mount cap of this lens does not fit Fuji lenses so keep that in mind if you plan to switch lenses on the go.Also... I don't like where they the aperture ring. The elevated tabs are in somewhat of an awkward angle to access. Personal preference though and it wasn't too hard to get used to.Overall, I'm happy enough with this lens at the price point so I will be keeping it. The Fuji XF27mmF2.8 R WR is very likely a much better lens, but this one is good enough for what I intend on using it for at less than half the price of the Fuji.

I received this lens about 2 months after getting the Fuji 27mm f/2.8 R WR lens. Both lens are sharp, although there were a couple of noticeable differences in the two lenses:1) The TTArtisan lens appeared to be slightly wider (shorter focal length) than the Fuji lens.2) Both lenses are not completely silent. Whereas the Fuji lens is known for having AF noise, the TTArtisan lens has aperture noise. If you set the aperture to f/2.8 and there is low light, the aperture stays at f/2.8. Otherwise the lens makes some noise as the aperture adjusts to the scene. Note that this aperture noise, on my sample, was more quiet than the Fuji AF noise.Overall both lenses are excellent, although not silent, and both are small and light. If you are on the fence about this lense for the Fuji, I suggest you go ahead and take the leap. A great priced and affordable alternative to the more expensive Fuji of compaerable specs. I find the AF is fast enough, it opens wde enough for lovely photos even at dusk. (Evening may be a bit of a stretch depending on light sources avail). The best part is it truly makes my camera a walk around Camera. I came from x100 so i was used to a smaller profile and was concerned when I got the xt1. But coupled with this, its totally fine.TTartisans make decent lenses, I have several manual ones for my other cameras so when I heard they had one with AF and it was a virtual pancake, it was a no brainer. Overall I recommend it for those on a budget or who want a light weight alternative.

Highly capable pancake lens on a Fuji XT5. 27 APSC / 40.5 FF. Very small, very light weight, sharp enough images with no obvious real world vignetting issues. Fast and quiet auto focus (for photos). No idea if it's silent enough for video. Aperture ring is the only negative as it has strong resistance when turning it that I appreciate, but only two small knurled areas to grip the ring. If TTArtisan made a matching sized lens in various focal lengths I'd be very inclined to get them as well.
The autofocus does not work properly on my A7IV camera. Face detection, subject tracking don’t work. In DMF mode the the lens acts funny, when shutter is pressed half way it triggers focus assist magnification, which normally should only be triggered when simultaneously half-pressing shutter release and turning the focus ring . Furthermore, when autofocusing while magnification is engaged the lens mis-focuses and images are soft.In addition, this lens flares badly.
This is my second time trying this lens, and I should have kept the first one. It has noticeable vignetting, but the sharpness more than makes up for it! This lens is way sharper than it should be for the price. The sharpness exceeds all of my expectations at all apertures. The vignetting is quite noticeable at f/2.8 - f/5.6 (or higher) but if you can get past that, you’ll be pleased with the images. The autofocus is quick and snappy, and it is super compact. Highly recommend, and be sure to give it a chance before discounting this lens!
I'm not a pro ,can't give you a professional review ,I'm just a amteur with photography a hobby ,bought this lens because I wanted something light ,easy to carry and great image ,this little thing also sports auto focus ,and you might wonder ...why is there a usb c port on the side of the lens cap?The reason is simply the best design ever ,there are lens with usb on the lens itself ,(the usb is used for firmware updates )that could become a problem due to whether exposure ..so what did this company do to change such a thing ?They put the usbc connector on the lens cap ! That's way it won't compromise thr usb c from becoming clogt with dirt or getting fluids in .Recommended!
