Tubolito Tubo Road Tube

$19.99

Tubolito combines the innovative high-tech thermoplastic material with a newly developed production technology. Seams are reduced to a minimum and remaining seams are overlapped broadly. The result is a unique, high-quality product - as if made from a single mould. Tubolito tubes made of high-tech thermoplastic material can withstand twice the forces of standard tubes. The material can be stretched more than four times, which provides maximum protection against breakdowns. To test the tube, a 0.75 mm mandrel travels at a defined speed through a pre-drilled hole in the sheath. Tyre pressure is 2.0 bar. The force and the distance to the blowout are recorded. Tubolito is clearly convincing here: the puncture resistance is twice as high as that of standard tubes an at a significantly lighter weight than standard butyl tubes.

Expensive Awesome Tubes

These tubes are expensive. But they are very light weight. They are easy to mount on your wheels. They work like latex, without loosing air. After a week my tires lost 5 PSI. They are very smooth. They fold up very small. They take up little room in your pocket or bag as a back up tube. They just cost far more than butyl.. Be aware that you can NOT use valve extensions. 60 millimeter valves work in 50 millimeter rims. Using 60 millimeter rims may present a challenge.

Tried these out with rim brake Bontrager Aeolus XXX2 wheels ahead of the 2022 L’Étape du Tour and no problems. Ran nicely and didn’t deflate like the latex inners I usually use. But after less than 1km of descending off Galibier the front inner exploded - riders around me thought it was a gunshot - and deflated instantly causing me to crash. Really dangerous. You might get away with them with disc brakes or for a Hill Ride in England in October, but Summer rides, in hills/mountains…. Stay clear

Good tube, difficult to patch

The Tubolito tubes work fine and I appreciate the light weight, but the patches have been a challenge. I had a puncture on the rear tube (brand new Conti tire, 35 miles on it) and patched the tube with the Tubolito patch on the roadside. Held for about 25 miles, then started leaking. Was able to compress the patch some more on the roadside to get it to hold air, then got another 10 miles before it leaked again, and switched to a traditional tube that I carry as a spare. Later removed the first patch entirely, cleaned the area with alcohol wipe as directed (very clean), let dry completely, put on another Tubolito patch with great care to compress evenly and for more than the stated 5 minutes. This patch held for multiple rides and then started leaking on one edge. I ... MoreThe Tubolito tubes work fine and I appreciate the light weight, but the patches have been a challenge. Great

Had some problems with leaking valves in the past, but got a replacement from Tubolito customer service directly. Very light, rolls fast. At first ride felt different, but got used to it after a while. Been riding these for 2K Km and no punctures yet. Pay attention when installing these, inspect rim tape and put tyre on rims with hands. I used some talc to get it on smoothly. I recommend Road SV42s!

Lightweight alternative to butyl

Trying these as a side by side comparison to the Pirelli PZero Smarttube on different bikes. Easy to install and the presta valves on the Tubolito can be remove wheras the Pirelli cannot should you need to install extenders for deep rims. Fast international delivery to UAE. Great service and price for Bikeinn as usual

Ride ruiners

As a self-professed weight weenie, I enthusiastically swap out bits and pieces on my bikes for lighter and/or more exotic ones...which is why I so excited to try these tubes. Gram for gram, particularly for rotating mass, these seemed like a great upgrade. I purchased two tubes and a 5 patch kit, and six rides later I am out of patches and neither tube will hold air for long enough to be useful.Perhaps the most frustrating thing with these tubes is that they WILL hold air for hours when testing for leaks, but put them in a tire and go for a ride and within an hour they will randomly lose air. Incredibly frustrating, as there is no possible way to locate and patch such a slow leak when out on the road...not that the patches seem to reliably hold anyway.Gave them ... MoreAs a self-professed weight weenie, I enthusiastically swap out bits and pieces on my bikes for lighter and/or more exotic ones...which is why I so excited to try these tubes. So light
3 March 2023

I was using tubeless because of the hype from MTB. I have some Vittoria tires that are a pain to make them tubeless so I decided to use some tube and this is as light as the liquid for tubeless, they are rim brake ready which is my situation with my bike and hopefully in case of puncture I will not have an instant blowout like the regular butyl tube, but a delayed air out. I was caring a tube with me every time in case of puncture because for me, on road, it was always something to big to auto heal.

Tubolito Tires Worth Consideration

Excellent value for "weight weenies". 100 to 150 grams of rotating weight reduction (depends on tire size) from replacing butyl tubes with Tubolitos!! If you get a flat tire on a ride, be prepared to replace the flattened tube or patch it (not always easy if you are riding at night or in a urban environment.)Important tip: For 28mm road tires, use the larger 30mm to 47mm size Tubolitos for better puncture resistance. The 18 to 28mm tubes may be stretched too thin.

Tubolito Tubes
2 November 2021

Tied them on my road bike carbon rims using a 25mm tire. They roll very nice, 25 gms lighter than what I was using which was Victoria Latex tubes. I have had them in for about 25 days and have not had to ad much air at all. The construction of the tube is high quility as well as the valve construction. There are no threads on the valve body just the stem under the valve. I was concerned about that at first but it makes no difference. As long as the threads are under the valve your fine with screw on air chucks. Highly recommended.

What a difference!
18 October 2022

Wow! What a difference in weight, what a difference in (I am assuming by recent history) rolling resistance! All summer with fully inflated tires I could only achieve a high of 38.6mph down a long hill in the tucked position. First ride in very similar weather and same pressures, an even 40mph! That to me is pretty incredible. Now hoping for flat protection and longevity.
