TUMI Alpha 3 Medium Travel Tote Black

I have lots of Tumi pieces and was looking for something smaller than a backpack or full briefcase to tote around my MacBook Air when traveling. This bag is too large, almost as big as a backpack. AND it does not 'hang' correctly. Did not hang as pictured on Tumi web site AND if you do place it at your side or front, then the bag is so big you have no place for your arm! Not right for me. I didn't look inside to evaluate pockets and organization. Sent it back.

A good and useful bag, but with an annoying extra strap

A great tote. It holds my MacBook Air perfectly, and has pockets and compartments for everything I need when traveling. It came with two straps (one shoulder strap, one sling), but only one of them was removable. The instructions say that if you don't want to use the sling (which I didn't), you should tuck it into a nearby space, but that was lumpy and I wanted to use that space for other things. So I had to cut off the sling strap, which was not nearly as easy as it sounds, and despite my best efforts at making a clean cut, it left a ragged edge. I wish there had been some way to remove the sling strap without cutting it.

Almost Perfect

Work and play. Room for the company's Mac Air, and my personal Surface. Slings are great. You distribute the weight across your back better. Easier to access. This would be graded A+ if there was a gusset on the lower front pocket. Right now, if you pack the rest of the bag first, you'll find no room left in this external pocket.if you put stuff in the pocket first, it becomes very difficult to extract said stuff.Even so, this is an great bag. For Tumi, the price is very reasonable. I would buy it again. But...ummm...gussets?

Daily Go To bag, when work gets to stay at home!

The Medium Travel Tote has stepped up and made my Non-Business travel wonderful. I use it on vacations when work is going to stay home and when running errands and want to bring along a beverage and have a place to store new purchases. This bag is flexible enough to be my daily go-to bag, and yes, I am in love. One thing I would love to see in my next bag or in another product from Tumi is a killer storage system for all of those cables and power supplies.

Excellent Daily Bag - A Purse For Men

Great daily bag for men. Holds an iPad Mini and a MacBook Air in the main compartment. Also a bunch of other stuff in the front pocket like wallets, keys, small travel charger. Front and back open pockets great to hold easy access items such as smartphone and hand sanitizers, masks, and Clorox wipes in a zip lock bag (this review is being written during the global COVID 19 Pandemic). Wish the bag bottom had a removable cushion at the bottom to better protect my laptop. Though, I understand this is not intended to be a laptop bag. Also as I am a father, this bag also has enough room to carry travel-size baby wipes, diapers, some toys, and snacks. Exceptional Quality construction and materials!!

I purchased my first piece of Tumi well over 25 years ago. The first piece I purchased was a large backpack while on a trip to Hong Kong, That backpack made well over 50 trips to Asia with me and still looks like new, the quality is exceptional and well worth the price. I purchased the medium tote because it is so versatile and is just the right size for quick trips around town. I like that it works as a cross body bag as well as a shoulder bag and a handle bag. Another Great design from Tumi. I highly recommend this bag.

Good, but there could be improvemets

I've been using the smaller Organizer Travel Tote for years and years, and it's essentially perfect for its size. But I had to get a bigger laptop (a MacBook Air) and it won't fit in the Organizer Travel Tote. So I bought this.On the plus side, it holds my MacBook Air. It came with two straps; I chose one and leave the other at home. It has a sleeve to slide over the handle of my suitcase. It has better pen/pencil holders. On the minus side, it needs more pockets. It doesn't have enough pockets. It needs more pockets. Am I making myself clear? I think my Organizer Travel Tote had at least 8 to 10 more pockets than this has. I really had to re-think and compromise to move into this Medium Travel Tote. Life saver!

I am a flight attendant and this bag has saved my life for the last five years and it still looks great! It is worth every penny it costs. It’s shape, structure and compartmentalization is perfect for keeping everything in place. Very durable and sensible. The only thing I wish worked better is the strap length retainer not slipping, but this is minor compared to the thoughtful design of this bag.

Perfect size. Great bag. Stylish and super practical

Looking at the pictures, I was afraid this might be too big; but, it turns out that it’s a perfectly sized tote. The bag has a good amount of pockets and dividers and it makes it easy to organize my daily supplies. Overall, I love it.

Very good but not perfect

I just took my first short international trip with this bag as my carryon for essentials. I had a full frame mirrorless camera with two lenses, headphones, passport, light jacket, etc., etc. The bag has good capacity, especially when expanded. It was not ideal for me because reaching things in the bottom of the deep main compartment is not real easy when seated on a plane. Also, the zippered lower front pocket is difficult to access because the leather trim above the zipper is stiff preventing reaching in easily. I also wish the crossbody strap was detachable, like the shoulder strap.Quality is excellent, and this would be a great bag for many, but I may need to reassess my needs.
