Iāve bought the cheapest headsets and the most expensive they sell through the years and Iāve gotten satisfactory performance and durability on every set. Theyāre one of the few peripheral companies I havenāt screamed at the device and sworn them off. This headset may be close to endgame in this tier. The best thing about this headset is true multipoint switching from separate transmitters that you can use on different devices and switch seamlessly -we've seen this before, but this one works. The Bluetooth connection has not failed yet, which already is better connectivity than the last revision of the Stealth 700, but also beats every other Bluetooth capable gaming set I've ever used, including much more pricey options. Iāve only had connectivity issues having the headset switch back to the correct transmitter after it powers off automatically after 30 minutes. I donāt think itās an issue with the headset, Iām pretty sure itās my fumbling, but the high quality source switching is worth the tiny bit of effort Iāll put into operating this extremely simple system. FWIW, this model (Xbox version) has one dongle labeled āXBOXā and one marked āUSBā. The USB one reports as a standard USB audio device in Windows and works with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X very well. The transmitter labeled XBOX reports in Windows as an Xbox controller and carries audio via what would normally be the controller output, which takes care of messing with any extra software, you can just make adjustments as if you were using a native headset on the controller. Operation is simple and satisfying no matter what source youāre using.Iām not an expert, but I sense the ghost of Roccat is here in this headsetās design. In comparing my previous wireless headset (Turtle Beach Stealth Pro) the differences are obvious and pleasing in each facet of the headsetās looks and operation. The headband has a pleasant rubber finish on the top and soft padding on the bottom which seems thin, but works perfectly in my case. The adjustment bars on each side of the band has a pleasant matte finish rather than the bare steel on the Pro. The āyokeā or mounting arm for the earcups is where I see and feel the similarity to my SYN Air Max. They have the same single point mounting system, which seems odd at first, but when you put them on and take a couple of second for adjustment, what youāll find is this yoke design is extremely comfortable. The cups will find a comfortable level front to back and side to side like any other headset, but as you wear it longer, there is less overall pressure and no pressure points I could feel. The cushions accomodate my glasses perfectly, I barely notice a difference with or without glasses. I have now done a 4 hour and 6 hour session without removing these and theyāre right on par with my absolute favorites. I have a giant noggin as well, making extended wear with any headset uncomfortable, but these Stealth 700s fit perfectly. The sound is very good, Iām even able to listen to music on these 700s and itās not horrible! Itās not good enough to use as a primary music headset, but there is fun to be had in here. So much modern music has sub-bass all over it that is inaudible on most music devices, this headset, thanks to the massive 60mm drivers (roughly 30% more surface area), effortlessly renders the sub-bass all the way down and up, there is not a giant hole on the low end (good job). The higher half of the spectrum sounds to me like these cans are clearly tuned for gaming, especially big booms :) . Vocals and instruments have a bit of a wooden sound on the "Signature Sound" setting. For gaming, this is perfect. The equalizer in the Swarm II app allows for really notable improvements, but I didnāt get this headset for music, itās for gaming and movies on the Xbox and computer, and for that, these are as good as any high end gaming headset Iāve heard. The "wooden" sound signature does seem intentional, as positional cues are clearly audible and with the help of the Dolby Atmos or DTS:X surround software in Windows, I was able to hear people walking around walls perfectly. If you use Swarm II to activate the classic Superhuman Hearing, it makes some adjustments to punch up footsteps and reloads, especially when theyāre faint. When gaming, your phone remains connected (!?!) and can play simultaneously with the audio from the transmitter youāre connected to ā with fair sound quality. I played the same songs through iTunes in Windows via the transmitter and through Apple Music on my phone, and if youāve ever wondered what Bluetooth does to your music, give it a try, itās quite obvious when you can A/B with the same cans. It's amazing how bad BT sounds, even in 2024... Sound quality on every wireless headset nowadays is not "good", but it's serviceable. It seems battery life sells more headsets, and huge battery life means teeny power for driving what are now huge diaphrams. As an aside: If you have trouble with no sound after the headset goes to sleep, click on the Windows speaker icon, choose another output, then go back to the TB headset and you'll get sound. If you have easy access to your ports, you can pull the transmitter and replug it also. This isn't a TB problem; this is Windows showing its colors as MS shortsightedly allows it to rot in the name of advertising revenue. I've had the issue with multiple other wireless sets from other brands, I just assume that's how it works now.The app is minimal, with basic controls and some adjustments for the factory sounds presets. You can save equalizer settings in there as well as āGame Presetā modes that cycle with the factory modes ā via the Mode button on the headset, and they give beeps for feedback, counting one for the first mode, two for the second, etc. There is no audio feedback when you get into your own presets, but I figure there a couple of fixes coming around, as the remapping of the lower left wheel is also mentioned in the app, but the functionality is not yet exposed. You can adjust the brightness of the LEDs on each of the transmitters as well, which is a quality of life feature that may not seem like a big deal, but itās so much more pleasant when gaming or watching a movie to not be looking at the transmitter light pulsing. What is missing? Nothing really. There is no active noise cancellation for your ears, but the microphone does a good job of clearing all the A/C noise in my room. Passive noise reduction is very good, mostly (I think) because of the luxurious padding and could likely be slightly modded to cut down on the noise making itās way in through the body, but the damping is good enough that Iām not going to bother. These being semi-open cups, there's always going to be a little noise. The other thing thatās getting harder and harder to put up with is the lack of battery swap capabilities ā it can be done, very well, as theyāve already proven on the Pro. The astronomical battery life numbers are great, but when I forget to charge my headset or when the time comes that the battery no longer takes a charge, Iām going to be on a wire. The battery swap on the Pro has been a lifesaver in organized matches after Iāve forgotten to charge up. I'm sure it's a more costly system, but the days of sealing batteries into our devices and making them "non-replaceable" need to end.But I've digressed-The Stealth 700ās third iteration is a big jump forward in refinement and user experience beyond the previous model. The yoke system is the most comfortable you can buy in my opinion, the build quality, great padding, light weight, monster bass, and stellar battery life all add up to the headset to beat in itās tier. If youāre looking for quality over a bunch of features youāll never use, this is the one to go for.

Overall Iām very happy, these enabled me to condense 3 headsets down to 1.In short, these have truly impressed me ā allowing me to simplify and clean-up my āaudio workspaceā considerably. Thanks to simultaneous Bluetooth and two low-latency USB receivers, gone are the days of needing the clutter of a set of headphones for every device ā or needing multiple charging cables, swapping USB dongles, or needing to fumble with multi-device Bluetooth pairing and the associated hassles thereof. I generally game and work with not just multiple monitors but with multiple computers as well, and the TB Stealth 700 solved the multi-headphone problem that I had previously just accepted as a necessary evil. In my case, I often keep a work PC up, a personal PC up, and then my phone, which the TB Stealth 700 ties together āalmostā seamlessly. (Iāll cover the āalmostā later). For starters, the Bluetooth audio is simultaneous, meaning you can stream music or other audio on your phone and hear it at the same time as audio from whichever of the PC receivers is toggled active. This is great for work where my employer prohibits streaming Internet audio over the work LAN or VPN, but where we also need to keep our headset on and connected to a work PC all day for meetings and calls (Teams for example). With the simultaneous audio I can use these to be on a meeting on my PC while also keeping background music playing through the phone and hear, and control their volume, independently.Next, the comfort is excellent. I wasnāt so sure at first but the earcups settle in very nicely and breathe very well, not getting hot or sweaty on my ears at all no matter how long I wear them. Battery life is also good, easily lasting my entire work day, though I tend to also plug them in and charge when I tap out for the day.The audio quality is superb, possibly one of the most nuanced headsets I have ever owned, where I can hear details I donāt hear with even other nice quality headsets. And if you turn on āsuper hearingā the headset will tune itself to even further amplify sounds like footsteps and doors and other āhuman cluesā that can tip you off in a game that someone is nearby and their direction, friend or foe.On a slightly negative side are two things ā first being that my PCs would often become inaudible anytime the headset had āgone to sleepā from inactivity ā The headset turn on fine but I still couldnāt hear the PC until I unplugged the USB dongle and plugged it back in, even though all audio controls showed the Stealth 700 as the active output device and turned up. A simple unplug/plug fixed it every time but it was kind of annoying so I ultimately just set the headset to not go to sleep at all; no issues after that. The second (and this is minor) is this headset uses a surprisingly sharp, high pitched, and high volume āstartupā sound. I typically put my headset on and then turn it on, but with these Iād suggest turning them on first. Again, this is minor and nit-picky, Iām just surprised from a design perspective that someone as in-the-game as Turtle Beach missed something as basic as a pleasant startup sound in their design. For controls (by default) you have Bluetooth volume on the right cup, and USB volume and mic feedback on the left cup. Right cup buttons are media control and a swap button that toggles which USB receiver is active. Left cup buttons are power and a super-hearing toggle; and if these arenāt to your liking some of the buttons can be remapped using the Swarm II application.Ultimately a very nice set of headphones, and hopefully the occasional āno audioā issue can be resolved with a firmware update (There was a firmware update which I installed during initial setup, so I experienced this issue with the latest firmware available at the time). Iād generally recommend these to anyone who frequently uses more than one device, the convenience outweighs the couple of minor issues I experienced.

Turtle Beachās latest gaming headset offering, the new Stealth 700 Gen 3, sits atop a well-rounded addition to their Stealth line up. They have continually set the bar for other well-made and affordable gaming headsets and continue to push the limits by piling more and more tech and sound into their products everyone can enjoy. With the Gen 3 Stealth 700, they clearly listened to their core audience and incorporated simultaneous connections using both a 2.4GHz wireless connection and Bluetooth 5.2 along with dual wireless transmitters making it easy to switch between your console(s), PC and phone with just the push of a button instead of having to move USB dongles. This allows you to listen to your favorite music, podcasts or chat while also hearing your game. This allows you to listen to your favorite music, podcasts or chat while also hearing your game. More than likely youāll need to download the Turtle Beach Swarm II smartphone companion app and perform an update for the headphones and both USB dongles which all need to be within range of your phone. Once that is complete, which took me a few tries, youāll be able to access all of the customization features including the 10-band audio EQ, microphone EQ, sensitivity & noise gate adjustments. You will also be able to remap the wheel & mode button to customize them to your specific preferences including using them as equalizer presets, game chat mix, variable microphone monitoring, and bass and treble boost. After first use, I could really feel the quality of the Stealth 700s with the durable steel build along with the other material they used in their attention to detail. After using the headphones for several hours, I eventually noticed I didnāt have any pressure headache from them pressing on my glasses while gaming and I also wasnāt sweating due to their breathability using hybrid leatherette and athletic-weave fabric wrapped around memory foam cushions. The buttons on the headphones were all conveniently placed and did not take long for me to learn which ones did what without having to take them off to look. Within the time that I used them and did this review, I never had to worry about charging them after the initial charge thanks to the 80-hour battery that can also fast charge giving you hours of use on just a 15-minute charge.Regarding the sound, which to me is the most important feature of headphones, they used their patented 60mm (HUGE, largest in class) Eclipse dual drivers providing the user incredibly clear and loud sound with deep bass. This is thanks to the dual drivers which provide a separate woofer and tweeter combination so the highs and lows donāt distort each other. Like the previous model, conveniently the microphone is built into the headset so there is no need to go looking around for those clumsy, removable microphones that I always seem to misplace and the most inopportune times. The new uni-directional microphone was completely redesigned offering AI noise reduction while offering the user the ability to flip it up to mute it and more features built into the desktop and mobile app you can use to customize your preferences. The latest Advanced Superhuman HearingĀ® technology is also pretty sweet and helps boost those hard to hear noises in games.Overall, the Gen 3 Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gaming headphones are a great option if youāre in the market for a headphone upgrade and at a reasonable price.
Turtle beach headsets are the best gaming headphones on the market and that tradition continues with the Stealth 700 Gen 3.The excellent: The battery life on this headset is EXCELLENT as they just keep going and going. When using the headset I was never worried about it running out of battery. I have said it before and I will say it again these are the best headphones for people that wear glasses, the design is such that the ear cups sit below the glasses so there is no discomfort or loss of any audio. The configuration allowed through the app (phones and computer) is also excellent as you can adjust EQ and even remap wheel and mode button. The configuration allowed through the app (phones and computer) is also excellent as you can adjust EQ and even remap wheel and mode button. The Stealth 700 Gen 3 comes with a new feature that allows you to switch between different sources (PS5/computer/Bluetooth). The audio from the Stealth 700 is great for lows/mids and highs, the spatial audio works great to and makes super hearing that much better to give you the edge you need. This is great as I donāt need to switch the usb dongle from my PS5 to computer/ connect or disconnect Bluetooth. The Good: The stealth 700 are big headphones with a steel reinforced frame and extra padded ear cups with multiple physical controls. The ear cups are super comfortable for hours of gaming without leaving you with ear fatigue/sweaty ears. The head band is tightened perfectly so there is no excessive pressure on your ears. The physical rollers and buttons have a great tactile feel along with the rolling wheels having different patterns to distinguish them. The bad: The Mic doesnāt work as well as the last gen, which was a bit weird and im hoping can be fixed with a update. When using the mic while gaming and during voice calls (teams/phone) everyone said I sounded just a tad bit low, I tried tweaking the settings but couldnāt really fix the issue. Another thing that wasnāt the best was the updating of the headset, the requirement of needing to have both USBās plugged in was an issue as my computer kept going to sleep during the long update process. I know you can easily change the sleep time however it would be easier to update the USB receivers individually when they are being used.Overall these are great headphones and the upgrades to the spatial audio (for gaming and movies/music) along with the multi connecting/easy switching makes them a worthwhile upgrade to the Gen 2.

The Gen 3 is DEFINITELY worth an upgrade over the OG or Gen 2/Gen 2 MAX in terms of build, performance, & capability. And if youāre just in the market for a new gaming headset in the crowded sub-$200 category, thereās enough here to warrant putting the Stealth 700 Gen 3s near the top of your list.Everything about the Gen 3 simply *feels* better than its predecessors. There is still a fair deal of plastic (with some steel reinforcements for longevity/durability) to help keep the weight down, but it doesnāt come across as cheaply madeāthe whole assembly & various points of swivel, pivot, & adjustment feel reassuringly solid & smooth. Comfort is enhanced over previous Stealth iterations thanks to what seems like a good 10-15 degrees of extra vertical pivot in the earcups--they fold flat against the slight backwards-leaning tilt of the headband to better match your anatomy when you drop the headset down around your neck & shoulders.Like previous Stealth headsets, the microphone folds up discreetly into the earcup when muted while a pair of rising/falling tones indicate mic mute status (if you are using a wireless transmitter, the LED will also change from green to red to indicate mic status). The boom is also articulated with a pivot joint to help position the mic closer to your mouth. The earpads are removable w/a leatherette covering around the outsides & smooth fabric against the skin. The padās ear-shaped openings are quite large & the soft memory foam pads are very comfortable in use. The headband is also covered with the same pillowy-soft leatherette, though sadly the padding underneath it feels a little less substantial than the earpadās memory foam. The Gen 3s feature new 60mm drivers producing enough nuance, detail, clarity, & slam to suit movies, music, & gaming of all flavors. Performance is rich, clear, & full-bodiedāeverything you could ask for from a set of all-arounders. Functionality gets a bump w/two wireless transmitters as well as BT connectivity. I used one transmitter in my PS5, the other in my PC; a quick press of the Mode button swapped instantly between active transmitters. Cross-play alone may be a game-changer for multi-platform gamers who might resent buying another headset for another console/platform, or at least having to remember to move a wireless transmitter from one device to another. Helpfully, the ālosingā transmitter displays an orange LED while the other transmitter turns green/red (depending on mic status) to distinguish which device/connection is active.BT connectivity was rock-solid w/music streaming unimpeded across two rooms more than 30 ft apart. Call clarity was outstanding both in mic performance for the caller & voice reproduction for me. The Gen 3s also allow you to stream wireless & BT audio simultaneously so you can take a call/spin up a playlist while still hearing game audio. The BT button on the bottom of the right earcup serves quadruple duty for pairing (long-press), play/pause or answer/hang up (1 press), next track (2 presses), & previous track (3 presses). The Mode button on the left earcup can be programmed via the Swarm II app to switch between EQ presets or toggle the micās noise gate function on/off. There are four presets (signature sound, bass boost, v-shape, & vocal boost) plus space for 5 custom settings using a 10-band EQ with +/- 9dB adjustments. Helpfully, these presets can be stored on the headset as well as the app so you can preprogram several EQs to meet your needs as you jump between games/platforms. A quick press of the power button toggles Superhuman hearing on/off with in-app selections for ālegacyā (general detail boost) sensitivity as well as selective enhancements for footsteps or gunshots.Mic customization is equally extensive. In addition to AI-based noise reduction, Stealth II has additional settings for mic sensitivity, sidetone/voice monitoring, & noise gate (how much background noise is allowed through the mic). And, just like audio EQ, you get 4 mic EQ presets w/space for another 5 custom presets. Iām not a broadcaster or streamer, but I was told I came through very clear & natural-sounding on both game chat & phone calls.Turtle Beach provides 3 physically separate volume dials. Two are for wireless audio & Bluetooth volume, something I think more manufacturers should take note of as it was VERY convenient to adjust BT volume without my phone in hand. This also kept me from inadvertently adjusting master (in-game) volume during, or especially after, I was done using the phone. The third dial adjusts mic monitoring/sidetone; Swarm II lets you reassign the dial for Noise Gate volume, bass boost, or treble boost instead. In all, I found the Stealth 700 Gen 3 to be a very capable multi-role headset that turned in outstanding audio performance w/enough customization & additional capability on board to make a strong case for using them as a one-size-fits-all solution for multi-platform/scenario use. The fact that the battery is rated for a staggering 80 hours is also a pretty compelling bonus (in 2 weeks Iāve yet to recharge it once!). However, there are a few blemishes on the Gen 3ās otherwise fine finish.First, although comfort is, at least for me, MILES ahead of prior Stealth iterations, it will likely still feel a bit clampy if you have a larger head. I wear an XL/XXL in hats & helmets & while the earpads were soft & comfortable enough that I didnāt get any clamping fatigue or soreness, I was aware of a growing hot spot on the top of my head. It wasnāt painful, just intrusive enough that I had to adjust their position many times over extended gaming sessions. Even at full extension, the headband was nearly flat across the top of my head & simply didnāt distribute enough weight around the curvature of my skull. On my daughterās head, however, the headband curve matched the shape/size of her smaller head much betterāshe confiscated them for her own use almost immediately.Second, tidying up usability & ergonomics would really knock things out of the park. For example, while many controls are distributed between earcups (rather than crammed together on a single side), nearly all the buttons are about identical in size, shape, & feel. The two dials on the left earcup are also close enough together (w/virtually the same texture) that blindly telling all the controls apart was challenging at times. Strangely, the BT volume dial & the wireless volume dial are not in the same relative locations on opposite earcups. Instead, the mic-monitoring dial is level with the BT volume dial while the wireless volume dial is higher up on the left cupāslightly counter-intuitive given that both are āsource volumeā controls. The audio interface also feels a little scattershot. For example, status updates vary between a few clearly spoken prompts for BT pairing/connect/disconnect, while a series of rising, falling or repeating tones are used for everything else. The spoken prompts are nice, but it certainly would be helpful to get voice confirmations for other settings such as sound/mic EQ selection, Superhuman Hearing preset, mixer dial settings, etc. without having to remember which tone pattern corresponds to which setting. Irritatingly, you only get a set of 1-4 tones for audio EQ preset, but if through them. Finally, I experienced some kinks w/the transmitters & companion app. My Gen 3s came with a note indicating a required firmware update that supposedly could only be completed w/the Swarm II phone app (not the PC client). My phone recognized the headset BT signal, but the wireless transmitters refused to sync per the instructions, nor would the app register that they were plugged in & powered on (which they were). Eventually, I had to completely reset the transmitters using support procedures reserved for those who replace a lost/older transmitter.Once paired w/the headset, the wireless dongles were still not recognized in the phone app. However, I was able to update the dongle & headset firmware using the PC client which the instructions indicated shouldnāt be possible. Strangely, my Gen 3s now show up in the Swarm II phone app as an Xbox edition while the customizations in the PC client (not to mention the product packaging) clearly indicate the headset is the PlayStation version. The phone app also indicates that the mic-monitoring dial can be customized for other functions (as indicated above), but doing so was only accessible in the PC client; the phone client also did not indicate which function had been assigned there once I did change it.Bottom line, a bit more refinement of the physical design, control layout, audio display, & app compatibility issues would complement all the other refinements & improvements made to this latest revision of the Stealth 700ās overall performance, capabilities, & build quality, otherwise making them THE multi-platform headset to beat.

The earcups are well cushioned and were comfortable during my use playing games. I do wear glasses while playing and found the well-cushioned earcups didnāt press against my head causing discomfort, which is a nice feature if you wear glasses. My experience with the input and output sound was very good. The large drivers for output produce clear, strong sound so even at 30% the sound is comfortable yet clear. If needed, you can really crank up the sound to very uncomfortable levels, yet I didnāt notice any distortion when trying this. While the mic provides good input, the boom moves from its default position toward your mouth only slightly. I realize that there is a design balance here because getting the mic too close to your mouth can cause sound problems, but I feel that the mic adjustment range should be greater for the operator to decide how close they want the mic to their mouth. You can set your Stealth 700 headset via two ways ā it comes with dual USB wireless transmitters (for two devices) and it also offers BT connection for two devices ā thereās a button on the left earcup that you push to connect to one device or the other. Since Iāve always had a love-hate relationship with BT, I set mine up using the USB wireless 2.4Ghz dongle with my PC. It works great, as Iām sure the BT does too; however, I havenāt tried using BT yet. Of course, you can use the wireless dongle and the BT together if you want to hear your game audio while having some music from a second device or chat with friends online. I do find that when I shut down my headset, my sound setting on my PC remains set for the Stealth 700 headset, so I must manually set my PC back to its speakers when not using the headset. With my earbuds, if I shut them down after listening to a video or something on my PC, it resets automatically to my PC speakers. I donāt know if this is a feature that happens when connected by BT or not. Because of my experience connecting my earbuds through BT on my PC, I expected the same would happen when I shut down the Stealth 700 headset while being connected wirelessly through the USB dongle, but it doesnāt reset to my PC speakers so, perhaps, the automatic switching is a feature offered through BT ā Iāll have to wait and see. There are various control buttons and sound wheel on the left earcup and other buttons/sound wheel on the right earcup for BT ā if youāre listening to two different sound sources having two separate sound wheels is quite useful. I found using the button for Superhuman Hearing is a bit finicky, but you can adjust it through the software. The software Iām referring to is Swarm 2, which you can place on your PC or other device. Swarm 2 allows you to make many different adjustments so you can get your sound just the way you like it. One thing I would find useful is if when hovering your mouse over the setting name that it would give you a popup window of exactly what the control is for and its use to better help you set things up without going to other sources to try and figure out whether that control needs adjusting and for what end. The limited printed material that came in the box didnāt provide this information either.I canāt say whether the battery will last 80 hours or not, but my impression is that it will. Iāve used the headset for several days so far and the battery reading is only in the 80ās percentile. The battery also quick charges. In my experience so far, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 headset is an excellent value for the money.

Right away I noticed how lightweight yet solid the headset is. Iām not sure what material theyāre using but this certainly seems a bit more sturdy than prior models like the 500 and 600.Setup is wildly simple and they key feature with this years model seems to be the dual usb transmitters. The headset works with nearly every current and prior generation gaming system and while I tested it successfully, I donāt use multiple systems for online play enough for the feature to move the needle for me. That said, itās super easy to use by plugging into your PC and Xbox separately, respectively, and then hitting the toggle button on the headset to swap back and forth between which one you use.As for the companion app to adjust audio, this is normally where turtle beach suffers the most and while itās slightly improved recently, it still is hit and miss. That said, thereās audio presets but I like to go in, set up ANC, turn superhuman hearing on, turn down mic monitoring and be off to the races.Comparing this to my stealth pros, itās a little tough to tell the audio difference between headsets, but thatās a good thing as itās just crisp audio. Everything comes through and I rely on audio tons during gaming, easily picking up on audio clues where my friends arenāt hearing footsteps, for example. It almost feels like cheating with how good the sound quality is.As for outgoing sound, theyāre touting the new āAI microphoneā this year. Iām not sure of the logistics of that but my friends think I sound great with minimal to no background noise coming in, so thatās a big win too.Lastly is the battery life which sticks out above its peers. Turtle Beach claims an 80 hour battery cycle, which Iām not sure if I hit but I got close. Even once the battery depleted, the quick charge feature was a dream to get back in the game asap.Either way, between the lightweight yet sturdy device, long battery life, clear audio both incoming, and outgoing, itās nearly everything youād want in a headset and Iāll certainly recommend picking this up.

Plug in both receivers, turn on the headphones and press update. Easy as that! I kept one receiver in my PC and another one on my PS5 so I never have to worry about losing a receiver. Getting the Stealth 700 out of the box, I was shocked to see just how much pad was on these cups, and while they donāt have any active noise canceling, my wife was the first person to let me know that I wasnāt able to hear her when I was wearing them. Putting these on gracefully cupped my ears in a semi stiff leatherette cup that has never irritated or hurt my head/ears in the many hours I have used them. Something that I was a bit taken back by was just the vast amount of buttons, wheels and moving parts on the headphones. It has three Jog wheels and four buttons to command your game, but when I was gaming with the headphones onā¦nothing really felt extra or out of place and thanks to the app you can even remap some of the functions on your headphones to your desires. Moving to the external housing, it is a really nice feel for it being plastic and it certainly doesnāt feel cheap, especially once you take into account the all metal yokes! With a nice weight and look, these headphones feel like they are built to last - and with an 80 hour battery life I have to agree. I never ran into any issues with my headphones dying, even after 3 or 4 days of heavy gaming.. Plus! They are Type-C, so you donāt have to fuss over cables.Moving to sound quality, but starting with the mic, the flip to mute mic is absolutely one of my favorite features on any gaming headset ever, fullstop. No more wondering if you muted your mic, taking them off to see if they are flashing red or any of the guesswork I have done previously. Flip the mic down to talk, flip it up to mute it, and you even have a wheel on the side of the headphones to adjust your mic volume. I also enjoy that I donāt have some ugly mic hanging off my headphones at all times, and can tuck it away for a sleeker look. The Microphone also comes with AI Mic Noise Reduction, and while It didnāt mute out anything substantial, it does cut out some of the nasty wind and high pitch whales from my gaming room. Now, onto the reason we are all here! The new 60mm eclipse dual drivers are honestly really good! There are certainly better sounding headphones out there⦠but those are purpose build headphones and cost a bit more. I was shocked how much bass these put off, and thanks to the 10 band EQ I was able to dial these headphones in to be pretty good multimedia headphones! Gone are the days of people referring to Turtle Beach as basic headphones, these really shocked me in how loud they got, and the absolute control they hand over to you. Here is my only catch, the ānormalā mode sounds weird in game and the āsuperhumanā mode sounds normal⦠I am not really sure why this is, but I pretty much kept the headphones in superhuman mode when I was gaming and then my custom EQ when I wasn't. If that is my biggest thorn on the headphones then I still chalk it as a win!Something I really enjoyed, was something I also never expected to enjoy⦠The app! The app is so easy to navigate, effortless and quick to the touch. I can change my headphones settings WHILE I am gaming on my PS5 which is AWESOME. Another cool feature is a handy dandy button that allows me to switch my receivers effortlessly, allowing me to go from my PS5 to my PC is just one quick tap away. Thanks to the dual connectivity, I can also listen to music or discord on my phone while ALSO listening to my game and using my mic on my PS5 which was a really fun, useful feature to use as I hate the discord app for Playstation and this solves that!To wrap this up, Turtle Beach has honestly cooked up a really good headset and probably the best at its price. Coming from an era where Turtle Beach was looked at unfavorably, I am happy to see Turtle Beach crank out some great all round headphones. It is obvious that the people making these headphones are clearly using them as well. From the button placement, the app, to the insane 80 hour battery life, these headphones are built to go the long haul and thanks to the apps versatility and customization, you can keep adapting these headphones to your gaming and multimedia needs! The best part of the whole thing is when you buy this at Best Buy⦠you never have to worry about getting the wrong headphones, they have this model and several other variations as well to fit all needs and setups. I love these headphones, but it is a very opinionated subject! Which is what makes Best Buy awesome as they probably have it on display to be tested as well as several other options. Best Buy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you donāt like⦠so why not test it out!?
