There are few places on earth as enchanting as Darjeeling a small but vibrant town in the Indian state of West Bengal. Located in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains the high elevation gardens and sloped terrain of this region produce distinctive teas that are harvested in three growing seasons called “flushes.” First Flush teas are harvested in March following the spring rains and have a fresh lively taste. Second Flush teas are harvested in June and have a mellow muscatel flavour. Autumn Flush teas are rich and smooth but bolder in flavour. Our Darjeeling combines teas from the 1st and 2nd Flushes to yield a sophisticated tea with a woody aroma and slightly dry delicate taste.

Great, mild black tea. Love the taste, it's not overpowering or bitter like other black teas can get - especially if you end up steeping it for awhile longer than intended. It smells great and looks nice and pure. I've brewed a few cups so far and can't complain. It's definitely milder in taste than other black teas that I've had in the past but that's what it's supposed to be from what I can gather. If you're looking for something stronger, look for another type if tea. It comes in a little tin that will be nice to hold small things when it's empty. This tin comes sealed with foil and then the tea is loose in the tin itself after that. Overall a quality tea at a great price. Perfect for my collection for myself and for guests!

Darjeeling is my favorite tea. That being said, though, it's definitely not for everyone. Darjeeling tends to be a bit dark and rather bitter. The bitterness can be helped with the steeping time, but doesn't go away entirely. I love that Twinings provides a well-sealed can to keep the tea in, and that the leaves are finely ground. Although, they could be considered a little too fine - if your infuser doesn't have very small holes, you are going to get a bit of dregs in your mug. This is definitely an awesome tea, but not a good place to start if you are not normally a tea drinker. Darjeeling is something I would recommend to tea lovers who are accustomed to the taste of dark teas without additives. Although you could add milk or cream to Darjeeling, I kind of think ... MoreDarjeeling is my favorite tea. That being said, though, it's definitely not for everyone. My first impression is not the initial taste on the tip of my tongue as first expected, but the powerful, almost peppery taste at the back of my throat as I sip this one down. On the second sipping, more on the tip of my tongue this time, the tea's more subtle qualities come through: the mellow side of the lemon and ginger combination--then wham again with the peppery snap at the back of my throat. This is no mildly flavored herbal, but one directly infused with ginger root, lemon peel, lemon grass and blackberry leaves. One other interesting ingredient is linden, a plant with many medicinal properties and used for such for many centuries. It would be interesting to know if it is the linden flower that is used (and most probably it was), since this is a diaphoretic, ... MoreMy first impression is not the initial taste on the tip of my tongue as first expected, but the powerful, almost peppery taste at the back of my throat as I sip this one down. One other interesting ingredient is linden, a plant with many medicinal properties and used for such for many centuries. It would be interesting to know if it is the linden flower that is used (and most probably it was), since this is a diaphoretic, a very mild fever-inducing part of the plant when taken as a hot tea. This naturally enables the body to help fight off infections according to some sources I looked up on the web. Not to worry though--this is not a fever that will keep you from work! It's one that will make your body work for you instead.I bought this one for some relief from a sore throat and it definitely helps ease my sinus induced problem. As with any lemon-flavored beverage I've tried, it does leave a slight aftertaste of lemon, but not too strong or unpleasant. I imagine it would be quite good with honey, which I will definitely try once I get home from work. For now, a slight bit of sugar seemed to compliment the flavors nicely, even bringing them out more. This is a strong flavored herbal, not a mellow one as I've come to expect a lot of herbals to be. Drink with caution if you like your herbals on the softer side. This one's courting the wilder side of the tea experience.

Deep, rich flavor of Darjeeling. Wish it came in a loose tea form.
11 November 2021

Darjeeling tea is my ultimate favorite black tea and I used to drink a lot of it. Fast forward, and years later I’m back drinking black teas and looked for Twining’s Darjeeling loose tea tins, however I could only find teabags. It’s still a very flavorful tea, but I prefer even deeper, richer Darjeeling. Perhaps maybe because it’s not in loose tea in a tin? I’m not sure. I would still choose to drink this black tea than any other brands. Twining’s teas are still great. Bring back the loose Darjeeling tea tins!

Enjoyable tea!

This tea is such good value, i enjoyed the Twinning series of tea i tried so far, potent and flavourful. The price is also reasonable for good quality tea and defintitely cheaper than what i can buy at the local supermarket. Highly recommend! Please click on like if this review helped!

Darjeeling is my favorite tea. I love it for its high quality and mild taste. The sachets are convenient to use on the go. Sometimes I add lemon to bring out the flavor of the tea. I have tried different brands but this one is the best value for money.

Twinings makes great teas and tea blends! Some have caffeine and some do not. Darjeeling is low caffeine and has a classic english tea flavor. One bag can brew two cups. Nice package size, many people like the taste and use these teas daily. These are made with the best quality ingredients. The packaging protects and benefits the vital flavor.

Just as I remember from my visit to Darjeeling!

I had the great honor to visit Darjeeling for a fee days, after completing some treks around the Kunjanjunga mountains.A serene, beautiful place with lovely people. The tea is just as I remember - dry, crisp, gentle and flavourfulA sip takes me back to watching the snowy mountain tops, sitting care free in a tea shop in Darjeeling.
