This Waver Curling Iron High Crimper is Fantastic. I love the way it makes my hair look. I have baby fine hair, used to be thicker, but had 2 kids and lost the thickness. This Crimper is easy to use and heats up very fast. Very well made, very durable. Even great for travel.This Crimper creates great waves and so much faster than regular curling irons. The wave lasts for days, and the beep when to release is a game changer. I wash my hair at night when I shower and use a little mousse while it’s wet to help with frizz since I let it air dry and go to bed with it wet. The next morning, I section it off, and am able to curl it quickly. The first time I used it was definitely a learning curve. I have wavy hair underneath and only curled the top. Don’t do this. Overall, I am in LOVE with this waver from Tymo! I have mid back length layered hair and I was able to do my whole head in about 10 minutes. It heats up FAST!Of note, this gets very hot! I have thick hair that can be difficult to hold a curl/wave and even on the lowest setting and shortest timer - this still waves my hair.I love that the buttons are on the inside of the handle - no more worrying about bumping my settings while styling.To me the only downside of this styler is that it's a little bulky. I have mid back length layered hair. My shortest layer is right above collar bone length. If my hair were any shorter, it felt like it would have been nearly impossible to effectively wave the shortest pieces of my hair.

I am so glad I bought this! It is incredibly easy to use. I put it on the hottest setting and didn’t have a problem with steaming or burning. I don’t feel like the outside was hot either. Your hair has to be completely dry before use as stated in the directions. My hair normally has a hard time keeping any kind of curl in due to its weight. I tried this without product, and the wave held well. This only took a few passes and my hair was all over wavy. I’d much rather have this than to have to use a glove like on the open barrels. So this styler has great features which is why I chose it. Love the buttons on the inside, the digital temperature, and the timer. It heats up super fast, no waiting! My hair is shoulder length, fine and straight. It makes great waves that last. I can crimp all my hair in less than 10 minutes. Now the negative… the sides get so hot! There’s no protection or coverage to prevent burns. So….be very careful you don’t accidentally brush your finger against it and you can’t hold it too close to your scalp or the heat will burn your scalp! If you can get over the safety issues, it’s a great styler with great features.
I’ve tried several other brands for waving my frizzy/dry/unique hair and it either burnt it, tool was bulky, extremely hot even on the outside or just left my hair looking a mess. Tymo compact works brilliantly. Especially for mid length. You can create quite curly/waves and defined hair but also play around and keep it looser.Like anything it needs a bit of practice as will work differently on all hair types but this is a very decent size, temp control and timer prompt is genius! Doesn’t come with a protector to put your Tymo on but it never said it would tbf. The tool is always fine to touch on the outside. On discount even paying postage to uk I am super made up to finally not have to either straighten the hell out of my hair or tie it up away every day. Thanks!

It’s a small detail but important when you have a lot of hot tools trying to escape from your cabinets. During my first use, I realized that the timer on this didn’t always work. One of the selling points for me of this waiver was the timer because I tend to get distracted and not realize how long my hair has been on the tool. So anytime I use a tool that has a timer for the first time I always pay attention very closely in order to keep track and make sure the timer is working properly. This one on my first and second use, the first time could just be a strange coincidence, I noticed that while 87% of the time (yes that’s a rough percentage number) the timer worked the rest of the time I basically was trying to fry my hair off. So if you’re like me, focus, don’t get distracted. You don’t want to be waiting for a beep that never comes and then you loose a chunk of hair. While using this and other hot tools I do tend to go slowly and take small sections of hair and unfortunately going slow I did run into that half hour auto shut off feature this has but I don’t see this is a bad thing. Just keep an eye out if you’re like me and take small sections going slowly, it may turn off on you during use. You just have to turn it back on. It doesn’t really take long to heat back up. This actually heats up super fast. I don’t think I’ve seen anything heat up as fast as I’ve seen this heat up. The buttons are on the inside of the device, which is blessing when you’re concerned about constantly hitting the buttons by accident and turning it off or changing the temperature or timer settings while styling. If you’re interested in learning how to use this particular waiver, there are several YouTube videos about this that go very in-depth and do a much better job than I can here. This did a great job of heating up, of giving my hair waves, those waves actually lasting. The base has a locking mechanism to clamp it shut so that you’re not leaving it open and accidentally burning yourself. Speaking of burning yourself the outside of this while it does get hot is not so hot that it’s going to burn you if you accidentally brush against it or touch it in anyway. The top has a silicone section design to be able to grab the top with your thumb and index finger during styling and not injure yourself. I’m actually really happy with this Tymo waver and would definitely recommend it. I even think it would be a very gift item for the hair lover in your life. The pricing on this at the time I picked it up was roughly $100 however I did notice there were other versions of this exact same waiver only in different colors for a much lower price point so keep an eye out as the pricing on this may be going down as well.

Creates super cute waves but, after using this 3 times on the second lowest setting for only 6 seconds at a time it damaged my hair so badly and yes i was using heat protector. My hair was left smelling scorched. The smell still won't wash out. It damaged my hair so bad that my naturally curly hair doesn't curl anymore. Dries straight except at the root where the waver didn't touch, won't hold curl from any heat styler anymore. The damage was so bad that I had to get the damaged hair cut off. And unless I wanted a pixie cut or shave my head I still have some stinky damaged hair left, hair so short I can't even put it in a pony tail, and a haircut that would be adorable on someone else but I hate it on me. All because I wanted cute waves.
