I upgraded to this unit from the previous wave purely because working from home these days is competing with the internet entertainement. Having the new unit covering the home where the highest wifi requiremetns are really helped the newer devices to get the best out the fibre. I still use the older nano to cover the other area's so the two units hand off conenctions seemlessly. the 5G 80htz band really works to get the most out of the devices.

The performance and coverage are awesome, very easy to install and get everything going through the controller. This is a great fit for a small business or home users that want more advanced features and performance. I used to have enterprise grade kit at home for feature and coverage but with this product there is no need to spend a fortune. The amount of information available from the controller is very impressive and so easy to use even for my partner. Also, nice feature to have the different AP covers. Despite some issues I found below, this is still the best value for money I found after evaluating HPE (Aruba) instant on and Cisco Meraki (way too expensive for home). Things that could be improved but not a show stopper for me: 1. ... MoreThe performance and coverage are awesome, very easy to install and get everything going through the controller. Things that could be improved but not a show stopper for me: 1. Adding/removing/disabling/enabling a wireless network is causing the AP not to be stable for a few minutes - very annoying but understandable since this is not really enterprise grade kit (like Cisco/HPE/Aerohive/Ruckus/etc). Hopefully for multiple APs the controller is applying the settings gradually, I will find out soon 2. Initially, I had some issues managing the AP from the controller using wireless, the controller would lose its heartbeat occasionally. Somehow got stable after a while but I'll change the controller connection to wired once get a proper managed switch with vlan support 3. The controller remote access could be improved, looks like port forwarding is required and I'm not a fan of that as it bring a lot of junk traffic from the internet to the internal network. Using a VPN is a better option for now. 4. The cloud key is a nice feature but I found it too expensive, all required is for APs register to cloud controller over the internet using HTTPS, not worth for a small network 5. Ubiquiti could do a better job with the Linux flavor packaging, it's missing some pre-requisites which are troublesome on my Linux server at home, so I had to install the controller on Win10 and prevent it from going into sleep mode

They look and perform good. Comes with POE injector to provider power if you dont have a POE switch. Integrates very nicely into existing Ubiquiti management system but can manage through an Mobile app as well.

i have been using this ap for over a year now and could not be any happier with the results. Not a single hiccup since first installed. Lives in my attic and does not complain. Definitely lives up to its enterprise level reputation. Both 5g and 2.4g range is very respectable. Form our second floor attic to our ground level living room i get excellent 5g connection. Saving up to add 1 or 2 more APs around the house to have total 5g coverage inside and outside at blind spots
These are great devices - bought two to cover ~200-300 sqm space spread over unusual home layout and they easily cover more space than that. First try with Ubiquiti and takes a little more knowledge than normal home wifi to setup and troubleshoot. Purchased alongside a Ubuiquiti USG. Much better wifi signal than other devices designed more for home use, but can be tricky to setup for the novice.
Fantastic access point - easy to set up, nice small form factor/footprint. Great performance too with 1300Mbps connection to a 3x3 MIMO MacBook Pro. Performance advantage over the older AC-Pros is immediately noticeable and prevalent using the Unifi controller wifi throughput test. I have two of these devices and they can provide a gigabit wifi experience.
I bought this to replace my old Asus wifi router. I was expecting better range and performance , but sadly that is not the case. The performance is better when close to the AP , but it has less range and less data rates when further away. It does amazing interface and configuration abilities so I am considering buying 2 , to cover the area my old Asus could.
Bought one of these to test out to go with my new setup of DM-Pro and USW-Pro-Gen2 switch. This gear is to replace my old Asus GT-AC5300, which performed pretty well, but for the price I see the Ubiquiti gear much better performance to value than the alien spaceship consumer wireless routers/ I am getting much better 5ghz coverage in my two story townhouse than I use to get with the Asus, and IMO these are alot moe sleek and less out there if that is what you are after. With the added skins and how low profile it is mounting to the wall or roof you these are less in your face than the 6-8 antenna spider/spaceship design of the "Gamer" wireless routers. What can I say as I get a little older I have started to prefer the less in your face design.
I used this to upgrade a several year old AP sitting on the ceiling, to improve the coverage at the extents of the house. This little device did the job perfectly, more than doubling the signal power in the out reaches. A bit pricey, but packs a punch. Setup was also reasonably straightforward after installing the Ubiquiti Control software on my nearby PC.
