The Ubbi nappy pail locks the smell, as opposed to plastic pails. Plastic is porous, allowing the odour to escape through the body of the pail, while steel prevents the smell from escaping to keep your nursery odour-free. The Ubbi nappy pail can be used with any regular, tall kitchen bag or cloth liner, providing savings over pails that use expensive, inconvenient, and hard-to-find refills. The rubber seals around the rim and around the sliding lid make the pail airtight to lock the smell inside. The innovative lid slides open to minimise air disruption. The child safety lock and slow-close lid keep children safe from potential injuries and provide parents with peace of mind. The Ubbi nappy pail has the capacity to hold 20 of the largest pull-up size nappies and up to 55 newborn nappies. The sleek oval shape fits well into tight places but is still big enough to contain up to 55 newborn nappies. The Ubbi nappy pail is available in several colours and trendy patterns to match any modern nursery, in addition to an annual capsule of limited-edition releases. The Ubbi nappy pail has received 11 awards and counting, confirming its high standard of quality and design that parents are looking for.

There are some pros and cons to this djaper pail. The pros are the size…it’s large enough to hold A LOT of diapers. You can use any trash bags you want so you don’t have to buy refills specifically for Ubbi which is so convenient. The opening to the diaper pail is large enough to toss wipes and diapers in without having to stuff them. The cons are that It locks so you can’t slide the handle open but you can still open the whole entire lid which my toddler loves to do these days. Although it is steel and I’ve kept it extremely clean and change bags almost daily AND use baking soda sachets inside, after a few months it starts to hold a smell just like a plastic pail. Every time I open it it smells awful.

I recieved the Ubbi diaper pail for free in exchange for an honest review of the product. This diaper pail is a game changer and no other brand can compare. It is convenient that it uses an standard trash bag so it saves on cost. It traps smells inside. Over time you will smell dirty diapers when you open it but thats expected. The bag does have some resistance when trying to empty the container if too packed down. I love the sturdy, steel design. The rainbow design on the outside is gender neutral and adds a cute design to any room. It can be used for small items as a regular trash can. It is super lightweight so its easy to move around the room as needed. The lock on top makes it wonderful to continue use as your little one gets more curious what's inside. Would HIGHLY advise you do not buy this diaper pail. If you put more than 15-20 diapers in it the bags will vacuum seal into the pail and is impossible to remove without destroying the bag. They also say you can use any 13 gallon bags in it. Well by the time a 13 gallon bag is full enough to take out it has permanently adhered itself to the inside. So you take them out earlier and the bag is only 1/4 full which means you’re going through bags nearly daily. 8 gallon bags work better but are still only half full when you throw them away. After a couple days of ripped bags I resorted to drilling a hole in the bottom to break the vacuum but that means it smells. Overall, horrible design and any diaper pail would work better than this. Didn't Work For Us
25 April 2024

Pros: 1.) Holds lots of dirty diapers 2.) No special bags required 3.) It locks Cons: 1.) Height- Its smaller than I realized and my toddler easily knocks it over, causing the top to pop open and diapers (not to mention the smell) to spill out 2.) Does not fully contain smell- whenever I walk past this, I smell the stink permeating from it. I often have to double check its completely closed and locked. 3.) The pail itself absorbs the smell, contrary to what is advertised. It says to not use any cleaners but a simple warm water wipe down does not get the smell out. I bought this based off all the reviews however this does not meet our needs and we will be going back to the diaper genie pail. 4.)

Does not contain odor
30 November 2023

We used the Munchkin diaper pail with with our first and like it but when we had our second baby a year later, we decided to use it for the new baby. We wanted to try something different with our oldest and really liked the idea of a metal can that can contain the odor. The oldest is solely on solid food so his bowel movements are more smelly. We were sorely disappointed with the Ubbi. The smell is awful, so awful that my husband and I gag every time we empty the bin. The odor lingers in the room that we have to open the windows. I gave it two stars because I like the locking mechanism and that you can use regular garbage bags, but the odor is so bad that we lasted only 6 months with it. We purchased a second Munchkin pail to replace the Ubbi.

Easy to use, contains smell

We used this diaper pail in our bedroom because we have not transitioned our baby to her room yet. I was wary about using it in our bedroom due to the potential issue of smell from the can. However as long as you emptied it out frequently it didn't have any severe smells beyond what escapes when you open the top slot to insert a new diaper. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you can use your own bags. That way I was able to get scented trash bags in order to help mitigate the smell even more. Our child is 7 months old, breastfed and solid food fed and has started to get some really stinky diapers. However I felt no matter how loaded her diapers got, they still fit easily into the slot, and the smell continued to be contained. The design is really super cute, and the white helps you really see if there are any spots that need to be cleaned. Also adding that it is really easy to clean. The only con I could really give is that the top slot sometimes got stuck when you slide it open/closed. I think it might be due to the lock mechanism getting shifted occasionally. Overall though this is a good, sturdy, dependable diaper pail and I definitely recommend it for yourselves or it would make a cute and very useful gift.

Great diaper pail that uses regular trash bags
18 February 2023

When we had our first child we were gifted a different diaper pail that used special trash bags. We experienced a few very anxious times when we ran out of those trash bags and the in-store supplies were low during the pandemic. I received the Ubbi diaper pail for free in exchange for my honest review about a month ago and we love using it. Not only does it look nice, but we can use regular garbage bags! This might sound like a negligible feature, but we spent a lot more money, time, and anxiety trying to find the right trash bags for our other diaper pail. This pail is also really easy to use and we can slide the opening up with one hand. It also keeps our dogs (and toddlers) out of the diapers. The only potential downside is that if the pail is VERY full, then if you try to stuff a full diaper into it, it's possible to get a little messy around the opening. The material is very easy to clean and wipe down, so this hasn't been a problem for us. Like all pails, if you don't take the diapers out often enough then it can start to get a little stinky. We haven't had this issue when we take out the diapers more often.

Incredibly stinky

This is the worst diaper pail we’ve had. We are on baby four and this is our third diaper pail. We used to have a basic Playtex diaper genie, and then moved to a nicer diaper genie. I would have purchased that same diaper pail this time around, but they apparently don’t make it anymore. I went with this one bc it advertised itself as being stink-free bc of the steel. Wrong. As soon as you open it to put a diaper in, the most horrible stink fills the room and stays that way for at least 10 min. Learning this, I made sure to only open it for literally ONE SECOND, shove the diaper in, and close it super fast. Even then, it smells. I think some amount of stink is a given, but this is awful. The process of removing the bag of dirty diapers requires you to open it for a little bit obviously and it smells like death. It’s overwhelming and the smells lingers upstairs for at least an hour. My baby is only 2 months old and I’m considering getting rid of this and just putting a small wastecan in there and taking it out every day. That sucks considering the cost of this thing. Overall, I did give it two stars bc I like that you can use any bag instead of having to buy expensive refills.

I liked this diaper pail when my son was an infant but now that we have *toddler diapers* it just does not contain the smell. You walk into the room and there’s an odor, then any time you have to open it to throw a diaper away the smell is overwhelming and takes a good 20 minutes to go away. Also, I’ve been very diligent about cleaning it- sometimes with Clorox wipes, sometimes taking it outside and washing it with the hose and dish soap then letting it dry in the sun. But it seems that one of those methods has caused it to start rusting. There’s not a good way to clean inside the lid. Speaking of the lid, it has a “lock” that prevents it from sliding open but my baby immediately realized he could just lift it up. I can overlook everything but the smell- and I’ve tried using baking soda in the bottom, essential oils, air fresheners, but nothing helps. Pros: The sleek look and being able to use regular trash bags. Cons: Everything else.
