I've been using it for a month or so. It seems to be very solid and reliable. It's very configurable but pays to have some knowledge about networking in order to set it up.After updating the firmware on this, the setup wizard wasn't enough to give me internet access. I had to manually add a few static routes to get traffic out.After buying this, I've read that Ubiquity is potentially not in the best state as a company. There is a fair bit of shade being tossed their way online, and some speculation as to the ongoing support of the Edgerouter line. At the time of writing, Ubiquity have stated they intend to keep supporting these products.

Delivered quickly, item as expected

The router works well, I moved to a gigabit internet connection and it is handling those speeds well unlike my previous router. The configuration is a bit less user friendly than normal consumer routers, but that was expected. All features I required were available and configurable, just some needed some prodding on a terminal, which worked fine, just felt like they could have easily put a simple UI on it. Some default settings/configuration were also a bit odd. I wouldn't recommend this for a basic home user, but for people who understand networking and could probably build their own router using a PC it does the job.

Fast delivery to WA, great router.

This router isn't for people who have no networking experience.I was able to get mine set up and configured by following the guide changing my ethernet adapter settings on one of my computers connected directly via ethernet.It's plenty powerful, has plenty of ethernet ports and has plenty of configuration options and with a bit of playing around I was able to get pppoe, port forwarding and my two wireless access points set up.Use firmware version 1.10.11 and update to this firmware version before you start playing around with settings specific to you as of course updating resets everything. Any firmware version that starts with "2" at the time of writing was extremely buggy and caused high ping and lag spikes in gaming for me.

Good Product

I bought this for home use. I suppose I would be a router enthusiast but for the performance and features I wanted, this was the best price I found. I was able to set up a 802.3ad bond to my cable modem and enable Ipv6 prefix delegation without any issues. This is not a good router choice if you're a networking novice. If you can make a router yourself with iptables and dnsmasq, you will have no issue using this. Be aware of the internal port configuration and the bandwidth limitations that brings. Depending on your needs, like mine, this might not matter beyond what ports you pick. The last 4 ports are directly connected to the router IC but the previous 8 go through a switch fabric before connecting to the router IC. The support forums are quite helpful. Good little firewall for 1GB connections

Backup firewall for incoming 1gb connection, have reset and loaded on config file, all seems OK, will test properly in the next few weeks

Great QOS

I got this to make the most out of our slower internet (100down and 10 up) and I am not disappointed. Went from an ASUS AC-68U to this and after enabling Smart Queue we can watch Netflix, download a game off Steam (without manually needing to slow the download speed) and have two people play at the same time without much ping increase. Basic setup wizard makes it headache free.I am not using UNMS at the moment so no idea how well it runs but the UI is intermediate but not overly complicated.

Great Router

I am very pleased with this router. I wanted to upgrade my residential network using a small business / commercial type router that is fast, stable, expandable, and reliable. The EdgeRouter fits the bill. I am impressed with the graphical interface and the ability to install open VPN. Since it is a wired router, I installed two Unifi AP WiFi units. The one thing I do not like, however, is that the PoE not does not follow IEEE PoE standards like IEEE 802.3af/at/bt. To get around this, I used PoE injectors on my APs that provided the correct voltage for the devices.

Nice fast router

The ubiquity edge router ER-12 is performing quite well for me. I formerly used their edge router X and it could not keep up with my new one megabit symmetrical fiber-based internet service. The ER-12 is much better at switching packets.

Out of the box wizard offers easy setup, traffic analysis with hardware offload does not impact bandwidth speeds, and the CLI offers infinite configuration options.After a recent gigabit fiber upgrade, my rather long in the tooth mini PC running pfSense couldn't utilize the full bandwidth across it's internal to external ethernet bus. The web UI is pretty slick, it's a major upgrade from both pfSense and residential consumer level products.The power is in the CLI configuration, and there is a learning curve for anyone coming from a consumer level product. I was network specialist 20 years ago, and had a lot of experience with Cisco routers, so some of it was familiar. There are still issues I have yet to resolve, for instance mDNS resolution of the router's name without re-broadcasting mDNS over my WAN interface.The built-in traffic analysis is handy, and with the hardware-offload does not impact bandwith across the switch or routed subnets.100% recommend this router.
